From a distance, lying on a bed and using his abilities to observe 94 Spider-Man, Mark almost burst into laughter.
"Wow, if you didn't know any better, you'd think he was just showing off."
Just now, he had added another "resident" to his web of fate.
94 Spider-Man.
But this wasn't surprising.
The genetic enhancement surgery he performed on 94 Spiders gave him the "Golden Spider Gene." This not only relieved him of any further genetic mutations or the hassle of becoming a human-spider hybrid, but it also granted him greater abilities to face danger in future confrontations.
The current 94 Spiders had become a versatile warrior.
He possessed an extremely intelligent mind from the start.
In his original path, his spider abilities were not particularly outstanding. In terms of strength, he was outmatched by the Lizard. When it came to speed, he couldn't compete with the vampire Morbius. Even in terms of resources and manpower, he couldn't surpass someone like Kingpin.
But despite all this, he used his intelligence to outmaneuver his enemies and defeat powerful foes time and time again.
And now, Mark had equipped this highly intelligent mind with a powerful body. Wasn't this enough to change his fate?
After receiving the long-awaited feedback from the Web of Fate, Mark had already regained quite a bit of his strength. At least he didn't appear as weak on the surface.
He had his reasons for doing all of this
He believed that Madame Web had been secretly watching 94 Spider-Man. And when he and Gwen had contact with 94 Spider-Man, she must have noticed them as well. But based on her lack of action to undo Mark's situation, she was either deceived by Mark's fate-altering power, or she had no intention of engaging with them.
He wanted to take this opportunity to test Madame Web's reaction.
Meanwhile, in a hidden place, on a massive spider-themed throne, an elderly woman with a somewhat fashionable and regal appearance sat gracefully.
She wore a pair of sunglasses on her face, and there were huge white earrings dangling from her ears. Her body was black and red, and it was unclear whether this was her original skin color or something related to her clothing. On her chest, there was a white spider-like pattern that extended all the way to her tail.
In terms of appearance, she looked more like a tadpole than a spider.
A moment ago, she appeared to be dozing off, but now, she suddenly woke up.
"What happened? His fate has actually changed!"
Her eyes slightly glowed, and before long, she saw the images of Mark performing genetic enhancements on 94 Spider-Man.
"Who is this person?"
After watching Mark's procedure and the transformation of 94 Spider-Man before and after the surgery, Madame Web was utterly shocked.
She realized that the fate of the Spider-Man in the world she was observing had changed immediately after Mark completed the surgery for 94 Spider-Man.
"Mark? who on earth is he? There seems to be no trace of him in other worlds," Spider-Woman thought and switched to other "channels."
Yes, the Spider-Man she was monitoring wasn't just 94 Spider-Man.
On the channels she connected to, there were several different worlds.
In each of these worlds, there existed a Spider-Man.
Each one was named Peter Parker, and they all had the exact same appearance.
The only difference was that each Peter Parker's Spider-Man persona had slight variations.
There was the genius Iron Spider-Man leading a happy life, the Octo-Spider-Man who had installed mechanical tentacles after defeating Doctor Octopus (not Doctor Octopus himself), and even the six-armed Spider-Man dealing with mutations like 94 Spider-Man not long ago, and so on.
Madame Web traversed these different worlds continuously. Her consciousness even entered their time streams, peering into their past and foreseeing their future. But apart from the world of 94 Spider-Man, she couldn't find any trace of Mark in any other world.
This left her even more perplexed.
Then she noticed an even stranger situation.
She couldn't directly lock onto Mark for observation!
For someone accustomed to switching targets at will, observing any world and any target, this was truly a first-time experience for her!
However, she refrained from linking Mark directly to the Spider-Man figures.
Because she couldn't sense the Spider-Man's presence in Mark, and because of the Spider-Mans she monitored in the different worlds, all named Peter Parker, she couldn't suddenly link a person named Mark to Spider-Man.
It's just that Madame Web didn't know that her inertia in thinking was preventing her from getting closer to the truth.
She was now suspecting that this person named Mark was an entity on par with her.
The scene in front of her returned to Mark performing the genetic modification surgery on 94 Spider-Man.
"It seems I need to find a way to observe him more closely," Madame Web muttered.
---
The scene shifted back to the side of 94 Spider-Man.
The sudden surge of power was quite troubling for 94 Spider-Man.
This was because he had flattened half of Morbius' face.
Luckily, Morbius was a vampire with strong regeneration. If it had been another antagonist, he would have been killed by now. Terrified by 94 Spider-Man's ferocity, Morbius didn't dare to continue fighting and decided to run.
94 Spider-Man didn't want to risk accidentally killing Morbius, so he didn't obstruct him too much.
He placed the unlucky jogger, who Morbius had fed upon only slightly due to his arrival, on a park bench. The jogger had only fallen into a temporary state of unconsciousness due to blood loss and wasn't in life-threatening danger, unlike the other victims who had been attacked more seriously.
Subsequently, the two of them engaged in a chase through the city, with Morbius flying in a straight line, which should have been faster than 94 Spiders, who could only move by weaving webs.
However, Morbius was unable to replenish enough blood, and after receiving a severe beating from 94 Spiders, he had to consume some of the blood to recover his injuries. This made him fall back into a weakened state.
It didn't take long before 94 Spider-Man intercepted Morbius by shooting webs, causing him to crash onto the rooftop of a tall building.
"Damn it, why won't you stop chasing me?" Morbius was furious and exerted all his strength to tear the web apart.
Unfortunately, due to his weakened state, he couldn't break free immediately.
94 Spider-Man landed next to Morbius and just as he managed to tear his previous webs apart, 94 Spider-Man extended his hands, and the webbing sprayed out uncontrollably, quickly wrapping Morbius up tightly.
Morbius at this moment looked like a small insect caught in a spider's web, tightly wrapped up and ready to become a meal.
94 Spiders' actions left Mark in awe. Although 94 Spiders' webbing was far less durable than that of other Spider-Men, it felt like an ordinary hemp rope. A slightly stronger villain could easily break free.
However, his web-spraying speed was among the best among many Spider-Men! He could spray numerous webs in a very short time, either to cocoon enemies or to protect others. (He once shot out a large amount of webbing within seconds to save two police officers falling from a tall building.)
Of course, kind-hearted 94 Spiders didn't wrap up Morbius as a meal; he intended to cure him.
"All right, Morbius, let me take you to see Dr. Connors. Perhaps he can help you recover."
Boom, boom!
94 Spiders didn't finish his words when the roar of a motorcycle suddenly echoed from a distance.
Immediately after, an impressive motorcycle actually drove up the side of the tall building!
This was an operation that completely contradicted the appearance and operation of a motorcycle; no one could fathom how it was achieved!
However, for this absurd world, it perhaps wasn't that strange.
At least, for Mark and Morbius, who were gaping in amazement, this operation held no appeal. Their attention was focused on the spirited guy riding the motorcycle.
This spirited guy was dressed in a black jacket and wore a helmet that somewhat resembled a knight's helm on his head. Part of a sword hilt was visible behind him.
"Hey, buddy, are you street racing? Did you take a wrong turn?" 94 Spiders tossed a puzzled expression at him.
The spirited guy didn't say a word but somehow pulled a hand grenade out from somewhere and hurled it at 94 Spiders and Morbius.
Boom!
The hand grenade exploded instantly, but there was no fire or shrapnel. Instead, a strange yellow-green gas enveloped the two.
94 Spiders felt nauseous. "Ugh! What's this? Smells like garlic? You're using garlic as a weapon?"
The spirited guy furrowed his brow. "You're not affected? You're not a vampire?"
"Vampire? Of course not!" 94 Spiders immediately denied, then realized the issue. "You mean this stuff is for dealing with vampires?"
He suddenly looked down, "Oh no, my goodness!"
He saw Morbius, cocooned and lying on the ground, had already rolled his eyes and was about to be suffocated!
It only now dawned on him that garlic was a vampire's weakness!
94 Spiders immediately spat out webbing again, completely wrapping up Morbius, then lifted the cocooned Morbius and ran towards a nearby rooftop.
"Where do you think you're going?" The spirited guy unsheathed a glowing sword, a lightsaber!
With the roar of the motorcycle, the spirited guy quickly charged towards 94 Spiders.
"Who are you, a Jedi?" 94 Spiders dodged the spirited guy's attacks while asking.
The motorcycle landed on the opposite rooftop, and the spirited guy demonstrated a one-handed drift.
He raised his lightsaber, pointed it at 94 Spiders, and questioned, "I'm Blade, specializing in hunting these human-threatening vampires! You're not a vampire, so why are you protecting him? Hand him over to me; I'll send him on his way!"
94 Spiders landed not far away, tore the webbing around Morbius' head, tapped his face to restore his breathing, and said, "I'm really sorry, but I can't give him to you. Because I'm the one who caused him to become like this, I must help him recover."
