Chapter 117

A/N: Forgive me for the late chapter.

°°°

As Mark delved into his studies, he discovered that his self-created quantum magic bore a striking resemblance to Doctor Strange's dimensional magic.

The dimensional magic used by sorcerers draws energy from the Vishanti. The Vishanti is, in fact, a "Trinity of Gods" composed of Oshtur, Hoggoth, and Agamotto, ancient deities considered the supreme mystical beings.

Their powers were virtually boundless, a characteristic eerily similar to everything Mark witnessed in the quantum world.

In the quantum realm, there existed infinite power.

At its peak, it could encompass all multiverses, whether currently in existence or already extinct. Every timeline, every spatial unit had a presence of quantum.

At its smallest, it could shrink to an infinitesimal scale, so minuscule that even the most sophisticated microscopes couldn't perceive.

Unfortunately, Mark currently lacked the ability to harness the energy from the quantum world.

He could only generate and utilize energy based on his own foundation.

This brought his physical endurance into consideration.

If he converted too much physical stamina into energy for using quantum magic, his own strength would significantly decrease.

So, the magical abilities he could currently employ were quite limited.

After several days of learning, Mark acquired several useful quantum magic skills.

The first was Quantum Teleportation.

This was essentially an improved version of Quantum Flash, using the forces of time and space as a foundation, combined with Doctor Strange's teleportation magic. Despite being a beginner, Mark could already stably open a teleportation gate within a range of a thousand kilometers.

As for longer distances, it wasn't that he couldn't open them, but they would lose stability, preventing precise activation.

This was mainly due to the insufficient strength of his mental power.

For this reason, Doctor Strange taught him a set of meditation techniques specifically designed for mages to train mental strength.

Once his mental strength reached a certain level, he could freely use this ability.

The second skill was Quantum Invisibility.

Doctor Strange possessed a spell allowing him to become invisible and pass through objects.

Passing through objects was something Mark could do himself.

For instance, he had once directly transformed into a quantum state and passed through a wall in his own world to enter a storage room in search of a tablet.

Not long ago, he also used this ability to traverse through Doctor Strange's magical barrier.

However, invisibility was something he had always been unable to achieve.

Even in his quantum state, he could still be observed from the outside.

This was because his quantum state was still composed of numerous quantum entities forming a human shape, not an infinitely reduced quantum form that couldn't be observed.

This was entirely different from Ant-Man.

However, after learning about the invisibility effect of Doctor Strange's magic, Mark modified his quantum state and came up with Quantum Invisibility.

After entering a quantum state, he added microscopic particles from the surrounding environment to his quantum body, creating a disguise similar to mimicry.

Because each particle underwent camouflage at the tiniest structure, even with the most advanced instruments, any differences would likely go undetected.

However, this skill, like the principle Mark had developed earlier to transmit himself by quantizing information, required him to quantize his entire body and consumed quite a bit of stamina.

If only for a short time, it was fine, but if it lasted too long, he might deplete all his stamina just by being invisible, leaving him with nothing to fight with.

The third category falls under a broader class, and Mark collectively refers to them as "Quantum Mimicry Spells."

As is well known, quantum is the smallest unit that cannot be further divided.

In reality, it should have no inherent attributes.

From the perspective of physics, the diverse manifestations of different elements in nature arise due to variations in their molecular and atomic structures.

For example, water's chemical formula is H2O, constituting an inorganic compound composed of hydrogen and oxygen.

In a water molecule, there are two hydrogen atoms and one oxygen atom.

Upon further division of hydrogen atoms, you would find a positively charged proton and a negatively charged electron. They are bound within the atom by the Coulomb force, forming a "hydrogen atom" with this unique structure.

Protons are composed of two up quarks and one down quark, held together by gluons through the strong force.

When these physical quantities are infinitely divided, the ultimate concept is quantum.

What Mark is currently doing is reverse engineering!

By decomposing different elements in nature and utilizing quantum to simulate their forms.

Using quantum as a foundation, he recombines matter.

For example, electricity is a physical phenomenon generated by the movement of charges, such as electrons and protons, which repel and attract each other.

This research consumed Mark's utmost energy.

He enlisted the help of Dr. Otto and Max, and through Max's demonstrations and numerous experiments, they finally achieved this simulated effect.

The results were quite satisfying.

Now, Mark possesses the ability of elemental attacks!

He can, like Miles, imbue a layer of electricity on his fists during an attack!

If the electrical current reaches a certain level, he can even execute ranged attacks.

But that's not all.

Simulation of electricity is just the beginning.

Next, there's water flow, flames, and even wind, and more.

However, unlike science.

In science, the more microscopic, the harder to control. For Mark, moving from the microscopic to the macroscopic means the structures become more complex and difficult to simulate.

Of course, this move is also based on Mark's physical stamina.

So, effects that can be simulated from subatomic forms, like electrical currents, are currently the most practical.

Not only does it save stamina, but the versatility of electricity is also quite strong.

It boasts formidable attack power. Normal individuals exposed to an electric current beyond a certain level will faint or even die in a short period, making it a divine weapon against weak opponents.

Even those powerhouses might struggle to withstand a powerful electric shock if they're not prepared in advance.

After several days of preparation, Mark is ready to set out.

Because he only plans to capture those two guys to inquire about their identities, Mark doesn't intend to bring too many people. Just bringing Spider-Tom along should be sufficient.

During this time, Doctor Strange is responsible for dealing with those who have witnessed Spider-Tom displaying special abilities in his true face.

For example, Spider-Tom's classmates and some people on the bridge.

—-—

Mark and Spider-Tom, in an instant, complete the process of quantum traveling, appearing on top of a tall building.

At a distance not far away from the tower bridge, a colossal monster composed of clouds is wreaking havoc.

Its body is concealed within the clouds in the sky, with only the silhouette extending down reaching hundreds of meters. The head looks like a skull, and around its body, there are swirling water tornadoes, giving it a terrifying appearance.

The crowd below is already in chaos, scared by this apocalyptic scene.

A figure trailing green light dashes around the giant monster, shouting loudly, "I will avenge my family!"

His voice is particularly loud, sounding too much like a shonen protagonist. Even though Mark and Spider-Tom are a few hundred meters away, they can hear his "roar."

Mark taps his ear, "Is this guy using such a loudspeaker because he's afraid that others won't know his entire family is gone?"

Spider-Tom looks at the figure, itching with hatred.

That guy is Quentin Beck; Mysterio.

Everything in the sky, including that giant monster, is just a pre-synthesized image. It's currently being projected here using virtual reality technology.

The destruction caused by that giant monster in the vicinity is also a simulated effect created by unmanned drones hidden in the image using microwave pulse technology.

All of this is artificial!

Little did he know, this guy was once considered a real hero. He even entrusted Mr. Stark's EDITH glasses to him!

What's even more despicable is that, before dying, he played a set on Spider-Tom, exposing his identity and making him a target of public criticism!

Although Mysterio in that world ultimately met a bitter end, dying under the barrels of a drone, Spider-Tom still holds a grudge against him to this day.

Mark patted his shoulder, "Alright, little Peter, remember why we're here. Mysterio's fate was sealed, and his sins will be ended by you in this world. We don't need to intervene."

Spider-Tom nodded, casting an annoyed glance at Mysterio, then followed Mark towards another building.

Meanwhile, on an airplane in the sky, a figure leaps down, trailing a spider-shaped parachute behind.

"Found it."

Mark stops on the rooftop of a tall building, pointing towards a nearby location.

In that direction, there's another high-rise building.

On the rooftop of that building, a figure is holding a handheld RPG, aiming down below.

The person's appearance is none other than Agent Hill!

But having seen the plot, Mark knows that this guy is actually a Skrull in disguise.

"Is that really a Skrull? Why does he look exactly like the real Agent Hill?" Spider-Tom is still a bit confused.

Mark explains, "That's a Skrull. This race has a shape-shifting ability; they can transform into anyone they've seen, even if they lose consciousness, they won't revert to their original form. The only way for them to change back is if they choose to do so voluntarily."

Spider-Tom, despite having heard the description before, still finds it astonishing, "No matter how many times I hear it, this ability feels too magical."

Mark nods.

But upon closer thought, he realizes that he can achieve a similar feat, and even more thoroughly. Transforming entirely into another person or creature at the microscopic level, involving biological recombination, somewhat similar to the shape-shifting abilities of beings like Sun Wukong and such.

However, he acknowledges that aside from infiltrating in disguise, such a transformation seems to serve little purpose and risks fundamentally altering himself.
