28) New Suit

Peter stared out the window looking at the city below with all the people down below looking no more like ants. The helicopter hovered above a hotel and the suited man tapped Peter on the shoulder "Get ready".

It slowly descended onto the Helipad and the rotor slowed down until it came to a stop as the suited man opened the door for Peter.

Peter stepped out and did a look around him only seeing a few buildings that matched or exceeded the hotels' height.

The man took Peter's suitcase while ordering Peter to follow him. He lead him down a set of stairs before opening a door into an expensive suite. Peter looked around in awe at what he was seeing.

"Is this my room?" questioned Peter.

"Yes, it is" replied the man in the suit. "Get settled and in around an hour Mr Stark will be here to talk about the future," he told Peter.

"Thanks" replied Peter before exploring his suite. He went up a pair of see-through stairs to a second floor. "There's a second floor" he muttered searching all over the place.

He placed his suitcase on a king's sized bed and started to unpack everything he brought before jumping on the bed to relax a little.

While waiting for Stark to arrive he continued to flirt with Elaine on WhatsApp, still unsure if they were actually dating.

After a while, Peter heard a knock on the door and started to head downstairs to see Stark casually open the door and took a seat pouring himself a glass of whiskey and placing a briefcase next to him. "Hey, Spider boy. You holding up alright" he asked.

"Yeah, I'm fine. This place is amazing by the way, thank you so much" Peter replied.

"No problem kid. Now that we've exchanged greetings let's talk about the important stuff," he said before taking a sip from his glass. "Take a seat," he said pointing towards the seat opposite of him.

"Ok?" replied Peter, listening to Stark and taking a seat making himself comfortable while at it.

"As you know the tryouts involve a lot of different scenarios and most of them involve combat," Stark stated while placing his briefcase on the table, turning and pushing it towards Peter.

Peter looked at the briefcase in anticipation as to what could possibly be in that case before looking back at Stark.

"It's time you got a suit, that isn't just a spray-painted jumper. Especially when the other contenders will have quality equipment." Stark said taking another sip of whiskey.

"You're joking" Peter yelled getting out of his chair and his eyes wide open in excitement. Inside was an actual proper costume. Peter slowly slowly picked it up and felt the fabric. It felt so strong yet it was flexible as he stretched it.

"It's made of graphene. A new material was made in one of my labs. It weighs the same as a normal tracksuit and it's highly flexible but can withstand bullets with ease. It's a new super material and suits someone like you who does all that swinging and gymnastic stuff." Stark mentioned.

"Thank you, so much Mr Stark. How do I even..." Peter tried to speak.

"Let me stop you right there. It's only right that I give my chosen contender a gift, to even the playing field you know. Can't have the guy chosen by me be one of the worst, you better get Top 3 at least." chuckled Stark a little before finishing his glass.

"I'll do my best" replied Peter still checking out his new suit.

"Also thought I'd give you a heads up. You should make your social media account for your hero persona. It's one of the requirements for you to continue participating and it helps broaden your brand." Stark mentioned getting up from his seat and fixing his suit and watch. "I'll see you tomorrow," he said patting Peter's shoulder before leaving and closing the door behind him.

Peter didn't have time to say anything as the door shut, leaving him alone with his suit that still had him in a complete daze. He couldn't wait to try it on so he rushed to his room and quickly changed into it.

He had a little trouble fitting it on, but when he finally managed to get in he did a pose in the mirror. He fiddled with the fabric down below as it made his crotch area quite uncomfortable.

He took it off after a few minutes carefully placing it back into the case like it was a fragile painting worth millions. He got back into bed and spent the next hour trying to figure out how he should set up his account.

He decided to put the suit back on and took a selfie of him holding on to the side of his building with a bio of 'Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man' before heading back into his room and getting ready for bed.

Peter looked at himself in the mirror hyping himself up for tomorrow. "I'm ready for this, I know I am. I've already overcome my fear and now I have the chance of a lifetime. Can't let it go to waste. For Uncle Ben, I'll save everybody. So no one can experience the same pain I've had" he told himself.

He went to sleep to only be woken up by the sound of his alarm early in the morning. Peter ate some cereal for breakfast and completed his morning routine before dressing up in his new suit and making his way to the roof.

He did some stretches before jumping off and swinging across the city towards the Avengers tower. Peter was having the time off his life in his new suit as the people from the streets below looked up at the man swinging recording and pointing.

Avengers Tower made it into his view and the entrance was blocked off by a bunch of people dressed in suits and sunglasses, stopping the unreal amount of reporters from entering. Along with reporters were a bunch of normal people jumping up and down celebrating like it was a festival.

Peter swung his way towards the entrance landing on the red carpet at the front making the crowd go even louder. He looked around completely overwhelmed by the cheers and screams before doing a slight wave and started to head inside.
