23) Peter has a Date?

Due to the incident school was cancelled for the next week. Throughout the week Peter paid close attention to the news for info about everything related to the school shooter. 

It turns out four students died of their heart-stopping by electrocution but everyone else sent to the hospital would recover just fine. 

It was discovered that the man who called himself Supercharger was a scientist called Ronald Hilliard who researched how to artificially create superhumans with his father. A week before the incident their facility exploded resulting in the death of his dad.

Past interviews showed he was very pro-hero and supported their actions, even to the point he said they were an inspiration for him.

During Supercharger's time at the ICU, it was discovered after a brain scan, that its brain chemistry was all over the place leading to him hearing voices, explaining his sudden racilized thoughts and actions. Unfortunately with modern science, his circumstances couldn't change and he would remain in his current state of mind. They are trying medicine to try and stop him from hearing voices with no success so far. 

He was instantly sent to the raft (A Maximum Security prison made for superpowered villains or the most evil of criminals) for his actions. There was no hope that he would see the light of day again.

During the week off Peter and Harry met up consistently and talked about the incident. Harry was able to escape into the bathroom early on and squeeze himself through the small window, avoiding Supercharger completely. He only had a few bruises and grazes from the fall and pushed himself through a small gap. 

Peter made some shit up about hiding in the bathroom stall after throwing a bottle at his head, which Harry believed to be complete bullshit. 

Today was the day that everyone had to go to school again. The atmosphere was dull and sad, no one wanted to smile or laugh. The school was surprisingly in perfect shape with the holes and broken windows where all fixed. 

There was a small memorial at the front of the school at which multiple teachers and students expressed their grief and placed flowers. Peter and Harry made sure to also place theirs as Peter knows how painful it is to lose someone so close to you, let alone your child. 

Peter also noticed more security guards than usual. They used to have three but one died trying to stop the Supercharger and the other two were injured. 

Halfway through Peter's history class, the school intercom rang and everyone stood up for a minute silence for the ones who lost their lives that day. 

After class had finished Peter met up with Harry in the hallway to make their way to lunch. "You excited for the Avengers tryouts next week" asked Harry. 

"Kinda, I'm still upset how Ninja Monkey lost to Nighthawk, he was much better" responded Peter. 

Since the Avengers' creation way back in 2011, they've held their version of American Idol where instead of singing you sign up to join the Avengers. It is broadcast on TV and involves public voting for who should be the next hero to join the team. It's by far the biggest show on TV when it airs by a landslide.

"Nighthawk was way better, what are you on about? His lasers were so cool" exclaimed Harry.

"Just because he had money to buy state-of-the-art equipment, Ninja Monkey was pure skill and he had way more heart than Nighthawk" replied Peter.

"Sure, cope with that line of thinking" joked Harry.

While the two continued to joke in the corridor on their way to the cafeteria a brown girl with two large brown ponytails walked towards Peter. Her ponytails were kept together by a blue ribbon and she had small golden hoop earrings and hazel eyes. She was average height and very slim and wore blue jeans with a few holes and a blue vest top. 

Her name was Elaine and she was one of the popular girls and was part of the cheerleading team. Peter was confused when she stood in front of him as they never really interacted before and she was considered leagues above him. 

She couldn't keep eye contact and looked quite nervous while standing there. "Ehh, I just wanted to say thank you. For saving me from that guy a week ago," she said. 

Turns out she was one of the girls he saved by throwing a bottle at Supercharger whilst out of costume. "It's nothing, you don't need to thank me" replied Peter quite flustered. 

Harry looked at the situation in complete disbelief, 'He wasn't lying. Wtf is going on' he thought to himself completely bewildered.

"I was wondering if you wanted to get a coffee sometime. During the weekend? It's fine if you're busy" asked Elaine. 

Peter blushed a little and was also completely shocked at what was currently transpired. He never was one with the ladies and now Elaine i asking him out for a date. Eventually, Peter stuttered over his words "Sure, I'm not busy" while stroking the back of his neck, embarrassed. 

Elaine looked quite happy and took out a piece of paper from her handbag handing it over to Peter. "Call me later today, and we can arrange the time and place" She smiled before walking away quite giddy.

Peter looked at the piece of paper that had Elaine's number with a heart at the end confused and stunned at what happened. Some onlookers also gossiped about what transpired.

"Wtf was that?" Harry blurted out. "You weren't lying when you said you stood up to him and saved two girls?".

"Told you I wasn't. Now look at me. Where's your piece of paper with a girl's number? Oh wait, I'm sorry" teased Peter.

"So unfair. Elaine too. You caught quite the big fish my man and also fuck you" replied Harry, making Peter giggle a little in response.

The day went on as normal with the only difference being Peter's ego being through the roof. Eventually, he made it home very cheerfully humming thinking about the date he had this weekend. 

Peter opened the door yelling "I'M HOME" to which Aunt May came into the corridor.

"Welcome back Peter, come greet our special guest" she replied with some evident excitement.

"Guest?" Peter questioned. He walked into the dining room to see a certain someone sitting down enjoying a cup of tea causing Peter to scream.

"WHAT THE FUCK!".
