Spectral Showdown

["Residents of the Mill Valley are ecstatic! their favorite neighborhood bakery "The Rolling Pin" won the Golden Whisk Award at yesterday's National Bakers' Convention in Chicago. ]

The air was heavy with the smell of urine and gloom as the sun pounded on Kensington Avenue.

A guy was leaning against the wall of an alleyway, while holding a crumpled foil packet.

["Since launching five years ago, The Rolling Pin, which is renowned for its distinctive sourdough starters and dedication to using ingredients that are acquired locally, has established itself as a Mill Valley classic."]

As he walked down the street, A young woman with an anxious expression clutched her shopping bag, walking in a fast pace.

Behind her, a mom followed holding her daughter's tiny hand in hers.

The little girl abruptly stopped while holding a doll.

"Mommy..."

The mother knelt and tilt her head.

"What is it dear? Do you wanna go home?"

The street lights began to flicker from the distance, the lights flickered on and off.

Her daughter nodded as her mother smiled and picked her up in her arms.

When suddenly...

the ground began to shudder violently,

'its an earthquake!'

'What the hell is happening!?'

The 'earthquake' continued as it brought a widespread panic among the people in Kensington.

'Run!'

'AHH!'

'HELP ME!'

It continued, the ground shook more violently

'What's happening!?'

'I want to go home!'

'LOOK!'

And suddenly a massive, writhing tentacles bursted into the ground, sending several cars flying.

"What the fuck!?"

"What the hell is that!?"

"Oh god!"

Screams and panic swept across the streets as people scrambled up in fear.

The people scrambled and shouted as the tentacles launched their attack, running away as the hideous appendages engulfed a big structure.

Until it collapsed killing everyone inside and crushing people within its reach.

[News report: Kensington Avenue is under emergency due to a horrific occurrence initial reports confirmed the appearance of an enormous, tentacled creatures that have wrecked the city, leaving hundreds fleeing the city.]

Other people from the distant took their phones out and began recording the unfolding events.

They set it on a live video for everyone to see but the cameras were static.

The viewers couldn't see anything, nor the cameras from the News.

[The attack started this morning around 7:30 Am, the massive tentacles surge across the streets, eyewitnesses and reports said that they and pulling people from the sidewalks and destroying structures. As locals tried to escape the horrific appendages, they weren't able to capture everything on camera.]

Kensington Avenue erupted in panic as the city was subjugated by the monstrous appendages.

The scene was a maelstrom of fear, with shouts and screams filling the air as people fled in desperation.

'NO! HELP ME!'

helpless screams filled the air, as the tentacles encircled the victims, crushing their bodies turning them into grotesque form.

'What is that!?'

'this is terrible!'

'Lets get out of here, dad!!'

it was a bizarre creature, it's midsection is packed with mass of eyes covered in what appear to be layers of skin.

It's head is decorated with what looks to be a nautilus shell and leaf-like appendages with people's faces.

Its body has long, slender tentacles that ended in sharp points.

From one of its higher appendages hangs the heads, arms and legs of people like a decoration and it has a spider-shaped legs.

["Rescue Squad 141, coming in!"]

The police and military cars who were arriving at the scene, suddenly crashed themselves against an unseen force.

['what the hell is that!?]

['We cannot enter the premises, find another route!']

They were baffled, The military attempted alternative routes, but all access was blocked as if the place was being blocked by a barrier to prevent them from going in.

The same goes to the helicopters that attempted to go closer but are repelled back by that force almost losing their control of their aircraft.

['Damn it, what the hell is going on!?']

['We are requesting for an airstrike!']

a loud explosion could be heard making them brace and the survivor's screamed in terror.

Helicopters surveyed the scene from above, finding no evidence of an explosion.

However, their eyebrows furrowed when they saw half of the creature's body was destroyed, it let out a terrifying scream that echoed across the place.

But Inside the barrier, a group clad in black suit unleashed all of their abilities and attacked the creature.

The barrier was too strong to break, not even its thunderous roar failed to cause a single cracks through the barrier.

They couldn't see anything as they flashed their lights to the ground.

What the hell is going on?

The amalgamation suddenly regenerated its body and charged towards them,

Decapitating the heads of two people with its claws in a terrifying speed.

"SHIT!"

"Noah! Jason!"

"Shadow shard: Shard of Finisher!" A man casts a shard of glasses from the shadows.

it formed around, spinning rapidly before exploding outward in a wave of magical force towards the amalgamation's body.

The creature let out a loud roar and regenerated it's limbs again, it retaliated, as they dodged it's attack.

"What are we supposed to do now!? Two of our people are dead!" The woman cried.

The man gritted his teeth in anger, the others attacked the amalgamation, destroying it's body from side to side but it has a powerful regenerating ability.

"Shit!"

The suddenly...

A beam of pure, light shot forth from the sky and thunderous roar echoed around the place.

['What is that!?']

[Did you see that!?]

As the helicopters flashed their lights where the creature was standing, their eyes were filled with terror and confusion.

["Where is it!?"]

["It's..gone!?"]

As they looked over, there were no signs of the large creature and the only thing that was left is a grey plume of dust that setlled heavily onto the ground.
