Episode. 3

After sleeping off the side of the road with no disturbance she awakens at about dawn. Realizing that the magic armor Spears to be deactivated when sleeping interesting I guess although it's passive it can still be deactivated.

Well I wonder what I should do… well it seems like directions are generally the same sun rising in the east and so on. I shall head north.

Now that I think about it, I should have saved the wolfs skin. I could have probably sold it. I mean, this is an isekai, most likely would have made money off of its skin. Well it is what it is, let's just hope there are no creepy individuals hanging around that bother me. (Eye roll) god I feel bad for women honestly.

After walking for quite some time a man in a carriage rolls up behind you as you walk before he had the chance to stop you yell out hoping he would stop and he does, apart from the dirt on your outfit you appear to be quite attractive in his eyes young as well.

You begin closing the short distance and begin asking questions about this closest distance to a town, village or city. He gives a slightly off putting smile and said there is a town not far up the road if you want a ride. He seemed to be implying something with his motions.

You quickly thanked him and began walking in said direction, he clearly wanted you to ride but didn't pursue further. He continued on his way leaving you to walk. You quickly reached the town after another hour of walking and entered the town. You asked one of the "guards" about a kind of adventurers guild and explained you're new around here and want to become one.

"Yes the guild is just up this road on the right side, it's not hard to find you won't miss it. Ahh a word of advice, as you seem young. Don't trust the male adventurers, if you want to know more ask my wife she's the secretary for the guild. Ahh now that I think of it let me introduce myself names Arthur, my wife's name is Shiella. Anyways, I'm rambling on like an old fool. Take care youngin" Arthur said in a kind but somehow fatherly voice.

"Ahh, I'll be sure to the by then. Oh I'm Zena by the way." I say as I walk off down the main road.

As I approached the guild I realized that the number of women in groups is basically zero. I couldn't see any groups with women in them. Well assuming that this world is at all similar to my world regarding gender roles it's not particularly astonishing to see.

As you walk up to the secretary and introduce yourself and ask if there is a Shiella.

"Speaking to the one and only" Shiella responded

"Well I'm new in town and would like to become an adventurer, however I'm not even from anywhere near here infact I don't even know where here is" you explain.

"Don't worry about it to much anyway to become and adventurer is quite easy however as a newbie and a female at that I would like to suggest a group for you as well. The male adventurers can be a bit…" she glanced over your shoulder to a bunch of men eyeing you up. " a bit err, forwards and aggressive in their methods at times. If you know what I mean. I will say there are plenty of men who aren't like that and well they're the exception in this line of work unfortunately. After all usually it takes an aggressive attitude to survive in this line of work when above D rank missions." She said

I nod in response, it's pretty obvious but I definitely understand what she means. I then ask about actually taking the test.

"Ahh, yes sorry about that. Yes, I will administer the test right away for you however it cost a small fee."

I look at her a little lost… "errr. Well as it happens I don't have any form of money on me and that's one of the reasons I planned on becoming an adventurer you responded"

She glanced at you and then after a moment asked "well, I can easily cover the cost of the fee however I want to ask where you planned on staying tonight?"

You openly but very quietly admit you planned on staying in the woods not far from town. That's what you did the prior night. Why not do it again?

She looked at you with pity "don't worry honey, listen I'll meet you out behind this building later tonight and you can stay at my place until you can afford a motel or your own place around here. Okay honey?"

You glacé at here unsure if you should take her offer but knowing how unlikely it is to get a place to stay as cheap for the first night and you can avoid getting eaten by bugs then it's an offer you won't turn away even if it feels like leeching.

"I'll agree but I'll pay you back for your kindness"you say as you clearly have a I feel really bad for leeching kind of look on your face.

After that she goes ahead and pays the small fee for the test and leads you down a set of stairs and into a room that seems similar to a football field sized room with a high roof. She explains that the test is basically just you fighting her and is usually done in a one on one fight by her.

Most people like to keep their abilities hidden fro. Others if they can. Having your abilities known by others can come back to bite you in the ass most of the time. Especially if someone has it out for you and in a town like this where it's not to small but not particularly big those with a bit of skill get power hungry and it's lot unheard of for adventurers to fight among themselves Shiella explains.

She then asks what kind of ability/magic you have and explain that it's a specialization class. She is slightly surprised as it's quite rare to have this class and although can be quite strong it's also a drawback when testing. She then walks to the corner and equips her shin guards helmet and arm guards and attaches her awards to her hip and takes a fighting stance about twenty meters from you and you go ahead and activate your magic.

As your Spartan armor appears around you she just waits and after you take a fighting stance you inform her you're ready to begin. She remains in her position waiting for you to attack. You rush her after a moment and as you close the distance to her you position yourself to begin a tackle maneuver and see her already begin to move out of the way.

You quickly change your momentum to perform a reverse turning kick and push off with your far leg beginning your pivot. She holds her ground and blocks the kick to see how much power your attack held. Although she would clearly dominate you in a fight your kick pushes her back about a foot. She has a pleasantly surprised look on her face for a moment. Then she grabs your leg before you're able to retract it back and pulls you into her. You begin losing balance and jump with your back leg launching yourself in towards her as she pulled you. Lead with your right elbow towards her jaw but she easily tilts her head avoiding the attack while also punching toward your stomach.

After taking the hit to the stomach you lose a bit of breath but quickly make some distance after she let go of your leg.

You then pull out the rifle seeing her power so far you're confident that your rifle won't be to dangerous for her. You fire a few shots at her feet and she actually gets hit in the leg and goes strait through her calf causing her to stop the fight.

After healing her wound she begins taking to you.

You're close combat ability is very impressive for a newbie to the adventurers guild. Impressive even, I'd say it would take most green hands about a year and a half to get as good as you at close combat fighting from what I can tell.

After sparring a few more rounds she gave me my evaluation.
