XIV. End of Contract

As we moved the ship out of Illuvies, Luther looks over the ship's logs to see the coordinates of the Frontier. He used it as the next destination while I scan the area for a close warp point to initiate the jump. I moved to the closest point.

"Warp point reached, coordinates confirmed. Jumping in 3... 2... 1..." I said as I entered us to warp jump.

Celestine was about to finish in cleaning and making sure both items works, she then placed the items on a special containment case and stowed it on the shelf. She walked towards the cockpit and sat on the captain's chair, opening the music to some sweet jazz. Luther was intrigued yet found the music to be 'dancey' as he nodded his head, I smiled whilst tapping my feet, and Celestine closed her eyes for a quick shut eye.

The travel was about close to an hour. I prepared the controls to stop the jump, the ship stopped and we were on the same warp point when we left. Celestine woke up and Luther radioed a request to dock. Our request was granted and I docked to the same spot Celestine parked earlier. Luther stood up still limping, I helped him walk to the door while Celestine carried the containment case.

As we got out of our ship we saw M'Khari's ship already there. Standing just outside our door are the engineers that worked with my ship and a few medics. We stepped down, Celestine gave the containment case to the engineers while the medics takes Luther to be repaired.

"That's everything on our end" Celestine informed.

"Well thank you for getting this. And I'm glad you're safe"

"I had a bodyguard" She said, glancing at me. "Where is M'Khari"

"There" The engineer pointed at the upper level on a heavily tinted window.

Behind the heavily tinted window, M'Khari is standing tall as he looks at a hologram of five people sitting in the chair.

"The council would like to thank you for personally leading this expedition. I heard that you have also hand picked some of the finest men in the galaxy, I like your initiative." A woman complimented her.

"Tell me, have you encountered any inconveniences along the way?" A man asked him.

"Only a few, mostly on beta team. But I have received a report that are en route back here" He replied with pride.

"Tell us the next phase of this operation" Another man asked.

M'Khari took a few steps back, he turned the lights of the room down and operated his holowatch. He links his holowatch to the room's projector which projected some images.

"As you all remember, Phase One was to collect items that will be used to rejuvenate our planet. Once those are collected, Phase Two is where we will go to our home planet, Zyphera, to start the rejuvenation process. Once complete, we proceed to Phase Three, transporting the colonies back to our orbit to re-inhabit our planet once more " He said while presenting the images.

"For a man of this generation you truly care about our future"

"Yes, but not only that I also care about our past. Even though our species was regarded as the strongest in the galaxy, our own ignorance became our undoing. We were forced out of our planet and into the colonies"

"That is indeed true" The woman stated.

"But with this operation, we have a hope that we could show the younger generations of what we were back then- Strong and persistent!" His tone felt a little stronger.

"Yes, let it be the only thing they be reminded of"

"We have left our savage ways behind" The man added.

"If this operation were to succeed, we would be able to help other species in rebuilding planets while teaching them ways to stop making the same mistakes twice. That is why M'Khari we have faith in this operation, for our future and others will sure to prosper." The third man told M'Khari.

"Of course, we will be the ones to guide them. We will teach all, for prosperity." M'Khari replied.

"For prosperity" The council replied in unison.

Their discussion was interrupted as a broadcast was sent to M'Khari. He opened it and saw one of the engineers.

"Sir, we have all the components" The engineer informed him.

"Very well. I'll be down there." He said to the engineer.

He looked at the hologram of the council. "Mighty council, as much as I would like to continue this conversation, I have a responsibility to fulfill- if I may be excused. I'll have to overlook the entire Phase Two"

"Very well. The council will travel to our planet and join you to see the revival with our very eyes." The man informed him.

"But you are a few light years and warp points away."

"Worry not, we will give The Splendor her maiden voyage"

"The best ship made thus far. Well then I will expect your arrival at Zyphera"

M'Khari walked to the engineering department, he saw the lead engineer with Celestine and me. Celestine and M'Khari traded pleasantries. He saw me and shook my hand for a job well done.

"As we have agreed here is the other half. As well as hazard pay" He passed me the half of my pay and added a few thousand credits.

I smiled to a business that went smooth. I shook his hand and looked at Celestine.

"Will I let Celestine accompany you to your ship?" He asked.

"There's no need for that. I know my way out."

I walked out of the engineering department, I walked passed the med bay and saw Luther being treated. I waved goodbye and press forward, I took the elevator to get to the hangar faster. As I got there I bid the engineers goodbye and boarded my ship.

I started the engine and turned C.H.R.I.S. on.

"Hello C.H.R.I.S. did you miss me?"

"Frankly, I did not."

"Funny, I felt the same way. I have an idea... let's get out of here. Maybe back to Pangea..."

I lifted the ship off and flew outside the hanger. I reached flew away to find a warp point that will lead me to Pangea.

Meanwhile on the Frontier, M'Khari ordered the entire engineering team to begin preparations .He also radioed the bridge to set a warp point that will take them to their planet, Zyphera. Celestine and M'Khari looked at each other and share a smile.

The Frontier's engine engines begins to whirl as it reached a warp point.

"Ladies and gentlemen, we have reached a warp point directly jumping us to Zyphera. Our ETA would be twenty five minutes. I repeat we have reached a warp point directly jumping us to Zyphera. Our ETA would be twenty five minutes... Please enjoy the ride." The captain of the Frontier explained over the PA system.

The Frontier went to jump, M'Khari looked up and smiled. He is coming home.
