Background

Year 20XX

The peaceful world we all knew was over. It all started in South Korea when the first "Gate" appeared one day. Monsters thought to only exist in books and fantasies, flooded out of the Gates and invaded Earth

After that, the Gates began popping up all over the world, and humanity was thrown into utter chaos. The world's greatest weaponry failed to put a scratch on the monsters as they squashed all humans on sight like ants. Within just a single year, the human population was reduced to less than 1% of its initial number

On the brink of extinction, the second world-transforming event fell upon humanity. A bright light appeared from the skies and shone upon a single man and granted him powers beyond human comprehension. He began fighting back against the beasts as humanity's savior and first 'Hunter'.

The lights slowly appeared in other humans, bestowing them with great powers which allowed them to force the monsters back into the Gates

Decades later, the human population had stabilized and begun climbing once more as well as the number of humans who received the light's gifted powers
