Ep.34 A BookKeepers Wrath
After a few minutes of Mike selling of his books the same grey man from earlier came up to the desk and said as he put the [Lesser Strength Boost] on the counter
"For a book keeper you pack quite a punch"
Mike put the book in a paper bag and said
"I'm not just a book keeper, $324.96 please"
The man paid for his book and passed Mike a card with two sledgehammers on it and said
"I run a blacksmith shop downtown for hunters, so come by with more of these strength books and I'll pay you handsomely"
Mike looked at the card before he crumpled it up and threw it at the man's head and said
"That not going to happen so go away unless you want to book a dungeon training session"
The man felt outraged and yelled as he slammed his fists on the counter
"Why did you refuse my offer?! Most people would do anything for my equipment?! Oh I get it, it's because you were upset about me talking about your mommy huh well seems she didn't know how to raise a child right since your so rude to turn down such a kind offer"
Mike wanted to tear the man apart from head to toe with his bare hands but he knew Aylin was watching him and he calmly said
"Sir, please leave my store"
The man grabbed mikes shirt and said as his hands started to glow a bright purple aura as he lift Mike up
"And what will you do if I don't?! You gonna cry?"
Mike pointed a fireball directly in the man's face and said as Aylin watched this happen
"You have 10 seconds to release me and leave my shop"
The man held Mike up with one of his hands and said as he charged up his other hand for a punch
"I don't think so and I'll do you a favour and teach you some manners"
Mike casted his Lesser Forsight that allowed him to see the man's move before it's made and lesser Strength Boost to barely free himself from the man's grip before his punch had landed and swiftly punched the man in the face and jumped over the counter while Sam and her members did their best to keep the others away from Mike and the man he was fighting before Mike kept barley dodging punch's and jabs thrown by the man while making some small but almost lightning quick punches to the man's stomach before Mike delivered a kick to the man's leg and made him fall before Mike pulled out a knife from his sleeve and said to the man yet loud enough for everyone to hear him as he pressed the knife against the man's throat
"This is a warning, DO NOT CAUSE TROUBLE IN MY STORE"
The man underneath Mike held his hands up and said as the others watched
"I yield, I apologize for my mistakes"
Mike stood up and held his hand for the man and said
"Thank you for apologizing I'm Mike"
The man grabbed mikes hand and said before Mike helped him up
"The names Saul Frig head blacksmith of the Forged Star and once again I am sorry for my ignorance"
Mike dusted himself off and went back to the counter and said as he continued to work
"As long as you realize what you did wrong and correct it then you are fine"
Saul smiled and left before Aylin said to Mike
"I will not report this since No blood was spilled but next time do not use your abilities"
Mike shook his head and said
"He used his ability first and per the hunter code rule #112 says that if a hunter should use his/her abilities then they should be in self defence or during an outbreak to protect non-awakened personnel"
Aylin was a little flabbergasted while mike continued on selling his books and just as he reached over 5,000 points he heard Sam say after receiving her bag of spells
"Do you have any new dungeon simulations?"
Mike shook his head and said
"I am sorry but unfortunately I do not but I will in a few days"
Sam smiled and said before she and her members left
"Please let me know when you do have more dungeon simulations available"
Mike waved goodbye and continued on with his day and have a few hours there was only a handful of people left with Jimmy relaxing in the lounge area while Mike saw his points were nearly at 9,000 and said to himself
'Seems I'll have to look at what's on the exchange page later… but how will I explain this to Aylin or even the chairman?'
Mike began to worry as he knew what might happen if he revealed the exchange page to others as he would most likely be forced to use his points for others instead of himself and his store but decided for the time being to leave the exchange page alone while Aylin is watching him and just then Aylin came over and said as the last people in the store were leaving with the books they paid for while Saul was still in the lounge area calling someone
"So what do you gain from selling these books?"
Mike acted confused and said
"What do you mean?"
Aylin sat down on a stool and said as she stared directly at Mike
"You wake up from a seven year coma and then you awaken and then the first thing you do is open a magic shop? I doubt anyone would ever do that unless you gain something from the books you sell"
Mike and Aylin stared at each other for a while before Mike said
"I'm sorry but I cannot tell you that but I also had planned to open a shop once I finished the construction contract but then I fell into a coma"
Aylin said as she held mikes with a firm grip and her eyes turned grey
"Is everything you told me the truth?"
Mike leaned in and said with no hesitation
"I have never lied to you and everything you and the chairmen have seen is the truth and if you don't believe me then you do what you must"
Just as Mike pulled his hand away Aylin's eyes turned green for a few seconds before they turned back to her normal colour and Aylin said as she smiled
"My observations of you are clear and you have told the truth, my job is done here but I'll still help you find a new home for you and your familiar"
Mike was confused and said just as Aylin left
"What do you mean your job is done?"
Aylin turned and said before she left
"The chairmen instructed me to see if you were going to be a threat to the public safety but I have seen your heart for who you truly are and I see you as a good person"
Mike smiled a little before Jimmy came over and said as he passed Mike a rose charm on a key chain
"Come on, I booked a dinner reservation for us so we can catch up and I kept my promise"
Mike saw the key chain and looked at Saul for a moment before he heard an engine start before running out the door to see a dodge challenger fitted with a purple roses on the driver's door and saw someone behind the wheel before the driver door opened and saw a woman in a black dress with blonde hair say
"Micheal, good to see you recovered"
Mike went up and hugged the woman tightly and said before Jimmy climbed into the cars passenger seat
"It's good to see you to Christine and congratulations on your marriage"
Christine hopped in the back seat after handing Mike the keys and said after kissing Jimmy on cheek
"If I didn't marry this knucklehead then who would now let's go I'm starving"
Mike locked the shop doors and got in the drivers seat and said before driving off like they were in a car chase with the police
"It's good to be back, haha hold on tight!"
