Chapter Fifteen

Smacking is all that could be heard throughout Peggy's apartment, inside of the girl's bedroom two people laid kissing one another lazily. Mark leans his head back to breathe for a second before leaning back into her lips. They lay there for a few more seconds until her alarm begins to go off, the man lets out a groan pulling away from her.

"Ugh, just when I was getting started." He smirks looking over at her making Peggy giggle.

She shakes her head moving to get up from the bed to grab her bra, "If everything we did is you just getting started, I'd love to know what you all tuckered out looks like."

Mark makes his way over to her to grab the girls hips pulling her close, "I'd love to show you sometime." He leans down to leave a peck on her lips before moving back to grab his clothes, "You mind if I take a shower?"

"Go ahead," She smiles at him as he leaves the room.

Peggy stood with Lexie, Christina, Alex, and George as the Chief and Bailey talk to them about Walter Tapley. The man was looking through the window as Bailey spoke to them, "At the moment, no surgery's been scheduled, so we need to focus on keeping him stable and comfortable."

The chief walks over with his hands on his hips looking all of them in the eyes, "Anything he wants. He wants a steak, kill a cow."

"Karev, bedside P. F. T. S and an A. B. G. Yang, run a c-central line ... sorry." The resident's pager begins to go off making her look at it before cursing, "Damn daycare centre pages me every time he gets a runny nose."

Webber sighs before looking at George, "O'Malley, go find out what they want. I need Bailey focused on Tapley."

George nods walking away, "Go to the daycare centre."

The chief calls after him, "Quickly."

Alex nods from his spot next to Peggy, "Right man for the job." The doctors all disperse while except for Christina and her two interns.

Christina walks over to the nurse's station looking down at her charts, "Peggy, Grey, Tapley needs central line. Do it."

The two looks at her confused, "We don't understand."

The resident looks up at them annoyed, "Take a needle, jab it into his subclavian so he can receive medicine and not croak ... a central line."

Peggy looks at her in disbelief, "But I...we...well, we've...we've never done that before. Christina!" The woman ignores them as she leaves the hallway, Peggy turns to her friend. "What are we gonna do?"

Lexie shrugs, "Let's go find George."

The other intern nods before they go look for the man, eventually, they find him down another hallway and run towards him. "Dr Yang ... who's even more evil than usual ... asked us to do a central line."

George shakes his head making the two of them stop, "Okay, this is a big day. This is the kind of day that could change things for me. In there is Tapley, and Tapley is god, right? I'm the chief's intern." He raises his eyebrow, "That makes me close to god, which means I can't help you right now, as unchristian as that may sound."

Peggy nods her head, "You're right George. We, no... I will personally walk into that room and do Walter Tapley's central line myself. Who cares if I puncture his lung? I'm, sure he'll get over it."

She starts to walk away with Lexie but is stopped by the man grabbing her arm and looking at them in disbelief. "What? She wants you to do Tapley's line? I'll do it."

They start to walk down the hall when Christina's condescending voice fills their ears, "Yay! Yay for Georgie! Georgie saves the day."

He walks closer to the woman and starts to yell, "I give you Tapley, and you pass it over to your intern? What the hell is wrong with you?"

She looks up at him feigning curiosity, "Do you think if you, um, kiss the chief's ass enough by taking care of Tapley, something magical's gonna happen?" He moves away from her annoyed and opens up a cart, "Like what, you'll earn your magical resident wings? Oh, well, no. No. It's not gonna happen, George. You're stuck. You are where you are." Peggy looks at the woman in disbelief as she taunts George, "You know, the only way that you'd get out of your miserable situation is if burke were here because you were burke's guy. For some reason, he pitied your pathetic ass. But he's gone now. no wings for Georgie." The man storms into the patient's room causing the two girls to slowly follow.

George does the central line with the two watching as Tapley compliments him, "Nice work you found the subclavian on the first try. Got yourself a good resident."

George laughs, "Actually, uh, sir, I'm an intern."

Lexie scoffs, "Uh, he's the best intern in the hospital."

The chief then walks in looking at the intern, "O'Malley, start Dr Tapley on a loading dose of amiodarone, followed by a continuous infusion."

He nods, "Yes, sir."

The three walk over to the door when Tapley's voice stops them, "Why the hell would he start me on amiodarone? O'Leary, would you give amiodarone to a man who's about to have an open-heart procedure?"

Webber doesn't look away from the man as he instructs the interns, "George, would you wait outside, please?" They nod walking out of the room.

Peggy sat at a lunch table with Callie letting the woman eats a celery stick while Peggy squeezes her thigh. Mark walks over dropping his tray on the table making the woman sit up humming, "Give me two minutes, I'll meet you in the third-floor on-call room."
