10 The Three Farmers
That caught me off guard. How does the archangel know that I am here? Since this was a memory space, outside observers were unable to detect our presence. According to my knowledge, that was the case, but apparently, my understanding was not sufficient.
A bunch of questions popped up but no apparent answer was provided.
"Who are you addressing right now?" My mom asked, looking wary of the angel interrupting my thought process.
"No one worthy of your attention." said the angel turning around as if what he had just done was totally normal."
"Now tell me, how can I secure my baby until he is old enough to secure himself?"
"You simply can't, and you don't have to."
"What do you mean?"
"Have you ever heard of the three farmers' story?", asked the man crossing his hands as if to control his emotions, his anger, his rage.
"No I did not, and what does that have to do with my child?"
"Well, you may want to listen carefully then.
It's about a man, his wife, and his brother-in-law.
They worked hard from daylight to sunset without any complaints.
The three did their best to provide for their family.
Ten years passed, and they were still on it.
Until one day, a giant came in and offered to start protecting them, as long as they gave him a small share of food.

A cold gaze penetrated the widow's eyes. The archangel turned cold and said, "Do not interrupt me again...please."
Fear could be seen on my mom's face. She shut her mouth and waited for the angel to continue the story.
"As I was saying. They were the first ones to experience regret in this dimension.
After three months, the giant was already taking half what the farmers were making, while not lifting a single finger to protect them.
They were already safe. An angel was looking out for them.
Of course, they didn't know. No one told them so how could they?
But they regretted giving in to a false promise of security.

It was now that they were terrified of monsters, while the titan was living a life of luxury by doing nothing at all. A furious angel watched over them and decided to break the one and only rule. Having attacked and killed the titan, he intervened in the free will of the human race. He played with fate.
In punishment for the angel's intervention, the family was tortured by the monster makers.
The angel knew there and then: He couldn't help any human no matter how much he wanted to. No matter how strong he was. He was nothing but a servant of the Fate Lords.
