Philip found himself in Gerald's space, trembling. Gerald, too, had returned, drenched.
While calming himself down, Philip revisited the earlier events.
There were actually two monster waves—no, it was just one. However, the majority of the Terrapins and Hydras had been separated from the beginning, much earlier than when they first encountered the monster wave.
Philip's understanding deepened as he realized why the epic and very rare monsters remained passive and didn't actively engage in the battle. They strategically sacrificed the common and rare monsters to create a diversion, buying time until the separated monsters, traveling underground, arrived.
Additionally, he believed that the monsters' aggression surfacing only after the initial 30 minutes of the battle was also a deliberate act—a carefully orchestrated play they had devised.
