Leon's Ring: It's Three Abilities

After the old lady finished narrating all this, Leo started sweating profusely.

He couldn't believe what he heard. It sounded too unrealistic.

'So, the first Beast God was none other than a beast?', Leo questioned himself.

But there was something else that he was thinking about.

Hell-Hound Cerberus, when the old lady mentioned this beast, Leo's eyes sparkled with confusion.

That was because one of his beast souls had the same name. There couldn't be a mistake.

Though, he wasn't sure how he was lucky enough to get that.

Moreover, after hearing Void Lion and Volcanic Phoenix, he started thinking about his remaining two beast souls.

The rooster did seem from the bird category and with the red glow, it somewhat did represent a phoenix. But he wasn't so sure about it.

Also, the cub, which seemed like a Lion's cub was white and as per the grandma's description about the Void Lion, he thought that the last beast soul could be of the same legendary beast god, Leon.

Though, he wasn't completely sure about this as well. It was just speculation.

"The fang which the Void Lion left was none other than his tooth that broke while fighting the nine other legendary beasts"

"This ring, it is made from the same tooth.", she said as she smiled.

Leo was astonished.

'How come grandma got the fang of a Beast God?', this was a huge question that remained in his mind.

He didn't ask, so he never knew. Perhaps she wanted to keep it a secret and while concluding that, he thought that it was best not to ask.

He then said, "Thank you, grandma, I understood the origin of this ring, but I have yet to know its effects…"

"Ah…"

"Yes, I forgot to tell you about the Beast God Leon's powers…"

"Anyway, let me tell you the effects of the ring instead of going into a detailed version of the Beast God's powers…", she changed her view and told the effect directly.

Leo was confused as he didn't understand the point of telling him about the tale as it didn't seem to hold any significance related to the ring.

"The ring has three abilities that will help you.", she said.

"Three? Not one?", Leo was surprised.

"Yes."

"The first is – it can make you invisible for 3 seconds.", she said as she smiled.

"…"

"Ha!?", Leo was in awe after hearing that.

"Yes."

"It can erase your presence while you are invisible. The ability is so strong that anyone at the level below Overlord cannot detect your presence.", she said.

'I see…'

'No one below Lv.81 can detect me…'

"…"

'Three seconds…'

'Although it is less, during crucial times, it can save one's life.', he concluded.

"Understood grandma, what is the second ability?", he asked.

"Gravity."

"Its second ability is related to gravity.", she said.

"Gravity?", Leo was a bit confused.

"Yes. You can apply pressure on your enemy and make them surrender without even doing anything."

"It can be used as a wide range attack and can impart pressure on multiple foes at the same time."

*gulp*

Leo swallowed a large amount of dry saliva after he heard that.

Although it was not as useful as the previous ability, this could potentially come in handy in battle much frequently.

The pressure applied will definitely decrease the speed of the foe which might make him an easy target or would help Leo flee.

He smiled and with excitement, asked about the third ability, "Then what is the third ability, grandma?"

"Haha, its third ability is a bit mysterious one…", she said.

"Mysterious?"

Well, all the abilities so far were mysterious so Leo wondered how the next one would surprise him.

"I call the third ability Leon's Sword!", she said with a raised voice as she coughed right after that.

*cough cough*

"Grandma, are you alright?", Leo acted quickly by bringing a cup of water for her to drink which was placed on the table earlier.

She drank after which she waited for a few seconds before she could speak.

"Leon's Sword, as the name specifies, the ring will turn into a sword.", she said.

'A sword…'

'Wait, if it can be used for attack, then wouldn't this be a weapon instead of a tool?', Leo asked himself.

But then again, he didn't know what exactly was the difference between tools, weapons, and artifacts.

Leo wanted to use the ring's abilities as soon as possible, but then the grandma said, "It's such a shame that you cant use any of the abilities right now."

"Eh?", Leo stared at the old lady when she said this.

"You are merely Lv.2, this is a high-level tool which requires a lot of soul power…"

"Unless you become a beast warrior, you cannot use the first ability. The second ability can be used when you reach the same rank, beast warrior, but for its advanced form of applying pressure on a wide range, you need to reach the next higher rank, Beast Knight."

"And when you are finally a Beast King, you can access Leon's Sword."

After she mentioned all this, his dreams broke almost immediately. But he did realize something, unless he grows stronger, he cannot use anything stronger.

He had the dedication to grow stronger earlier, but now he swore on his life to work hard and realize his dream sooner.

"Thank you, grandma, I will take my leave now. I have some work…"

"I will come back soon to talk to you again.", as he said this, he vanished from the sight.

"Yes. Bye, don't forget to tell Leko to visit me after he is healed!", she said as Leo left.

The last sentence that the grandma said, left a weird taste in his mouth. As he left her house, tears automatically drenched his face.

'Need to visit the next town as soon as possible…', while thinking this, he returned to the orphanage where Ai had called a person to help him and guide and protect him until he returned to the orphanage from the next village!
