7 Finding Leko (1)

He then looked at Ai who was still standing near the door. She was somewhat anxious as if waiting for someone.

'Wait, shouldn't she have slept by now?', Leo asked himself.

He looked around and found that everyone else was asleep so without wasting any time, he stood up and walked up to her.

"Auntie…"

That startled her. She wasn't expecting Leo to be awake.

She turned around and said, "Ah, Leo."

"What happened?", her breathing was heavy, Leo noticed.

He then said, "What happened Auntie, are you in trouble?"

She shook her head after hearing his question.

She then said, "No, it's nothing. Go and sleep."

Even if she denied it, Leo knew that something was up.

He did look around again and found that Leko wasn't home yet.

'Ah, is she worried because sir Leko hasn't returned…?', he asked himself.

He looked at the sky and it was already dark.

'Unless he had any urgent work, or unless he visits some other town, he would always arrive before it is dark.'

'He was the one who told us not to stay out because sometimes the beasts in the forest end up entering the town during the nighttime.'

'And he follows that too, so it is weird that he hasn't returned yet.'

'I'm pretty sure he hasn't left the town since the robe is still here…'

Leo looked at a brown robe lying near the main door. Usually, when Leko visits other towns, he would always wear the robe. It was a habit of his.

Once, he had traveled half the way and yet returned back just to put on the robe and went again. Weird as it may be, the robe was like an addiction to his travel.

Thus, Leo concluded that something was definitely wrong.

'Uh…'

'The last time I saw him was during the analysis…'

'Where could have he gone after that?', Leo wondered.

*gulp*

'Something is definitely wrong…'

'Those people weren't good, to begin with. What if Sir Leko ended up fighting with them?', Leo knew Leko's personality very well.

Leko would sometimes do things even if they weren't within his capabilities. And when the matter is regarding his beloved children of the orphanage, he could literally go to any extreme!

Leo, without wasting any more time, thought about going and checking out if Leko was alright.

If there was a fight, then some villagers would at least know about it.

However, the question was, how would Leo leave the orphanage at night and go?

Ai was keeping a watch and was anxious. Obviously, she won't let Leo go out considering that the danger of the beasts was maintained always.

"Auntie, I'll be back from the washroom."

Since it was old age, the washroom was usually made outside. Of course, this would give me a chance for Leo to get out.

Ai allowed him but asked him to return quickly which obviously Leo wasn't going to follow.

He did go towards the washroom which was behind the Orphanage building, but then he changed the course and jumped over the boundary walls.

He rushed towards the place where the analysis had taken place, but before reaching it, he encountered two or three men on his way.

He enquired about Leko but they had no idea.

He continued and finally arrived at the sight only to find no sign of the analyzers.

'Yea, they must have left right after my analysis…', Leo thought.

He looked around but there was no sign of Leko. Though, he did find a few marks of blood on the ground.

'Hmm…'

'Blood…'

'I think there definitely was a fight here…', and just as he had thought this, he found a house right across the street.

He rushed and knocked at the door when an old lady walked out.

"What? They took sir Leko with them and went towards the forest?", Leo asked in surprise after hearing from the lady.

Yes, she had seen what had happened but kept quiet.

"Why didn't you inform us earlier?", Leo asked.

"Son, how could I…?"

"Don't you know my condition…?", the lady said in a low voice.

Yes, Leo couldn't blame her after all, her lower half was paralyzed. Only she knew how she managed to open a door after someone knocked.

No one visits her, she doesn't have any children either so living alone must be lonely. That is why, whenever anyone knocks at her door, for whatever reason, she would rush and with all her might, pull herself towards the door and open it.

Leo had a look of sympathy.

"But don't you go towards the forest…"

"There are a lot of beasts."

"A young boy like you would get killed easily…", she said.

After hearing that, Leo smiled.

'You are worrying about me despite being in pain…?'

"Thank you, Grandma, I will surely come tomorrow and chat with you.", he said with a smile.

After hearing that, the lady had the brightest smile in the world!

Leo then immediately left towards the forest.

Of course, he asked the grandma to lend him a knife just to be safe.

Although the knife was small, it was better than nothing.

Also, Leo wasn't being foolish by trying to enter the forest. He had been reincarnated as a baby so obviously, he didn't waste all these six to seven years.

His body was too small to be training with physical arts, also, the kids won't let him alone most of the time so he couldn't actually train his muscles.

But that didn't restrict him from training the Mystic Arts from his old world!

Yes, there were many mystic arts and skills that he had learned in the past life, but for now, he kept training only three – Blood Acceleration, Rage, and Dragon Eyes.

These were the three basic skills on which he concentrated the most. Of course, all his trust and faith were in these skills and since he had a lot of experience before being born here, he had nothing to worry about.

Of course, fear, he knew not what it was unless it concerned Lions.
