The Ancient Warriors

In an unknown realm in a distant time, there existed an ancient battlefield that was surrounded on all sides by darkness...

The dead bodies of countless men and creatures laid strewn across its field, staining the ground with a mixture of different colored blood. As all of it mixed together, the pools of blood began to look like a rainbow.

Shockwaves blasted the ground, shaking the realm to its core as two godlike warriors fought tooth and nail in an attempt to gain the upper hand over one another. Sparks as bright as the sun itself flew through the air as their weapons clashed.

Both of them were sent flying backward a couple meters from the force generated, carving a deep gash into the ground as they balanced themselves to keep from falling over. Glaring at one another, one of the warriors that wielded a scythe as his weapon opened his mouth speak.

"You are good, very good."

His deep demonic voice should have been filled with malice, but instead came with a hint of respect.

"You read my mind."

Grinning, the warrior across from him replied while plunging his sword into the ground, leaning against it once stabbed deep enough.

"It is our fate to fight till the death, and yet together we have forged this field of death around us...it is a shame we must fight, is it not Demi!?"

He cocked his head at his opponent as he spoke, his proud voice echoing around them in a divine fashion.

"Yes, it is Roth...but we must know who is the strongest between the two of us. Only one of us will ascend!"

Demi replied coldly, his voice losing it's tone of respect as he began twirling his scythe.

A terrifying aura suddenly exploded from him, as the scythe crackled with black energy, distorting reality as he twirled it faster and faster.

Gripping his sword tight enough to the point the white of his knuckles began to show through his skin, Roth slowly began removing his sword from the ground below. As it slid out of the ground, a dense aura began to radiate from him.

In a flurry of sword swipes, he sent multiple sword waves shooting across the battlefield. All of them missed their target, striking nothing besides the mountains behind Demi as he flickered from side to side, dodging them all while still twirling his scythe.

The mountains in the distance were complete sundered and reduced to rubble. Had even one of the waves struck its intended target, massive amounts of damage would have been done.

"Let's finish this already!"

Roth shouted at Demi, his divine voice on the verge being drowned out by the raw power surging through the area.

"Agreed, we have been fighting for what has felt like decades. I shall be taking your power for myself and I will ascend to greater heights than you could possibly fathom!"

With a slight pause to shout back, Demi finally swung his scythe in front of him.

A large rift slowly opened up in the air before him, sending a wave of pressure across the entire battlefield. When it fully opened, a humanoid being exited and stepped onto the battlefield.

A black ethereal hooded cloak covered its body, hiding its appearance. The only thing that could be seen were a pair of black scaled demonic wings that stretched out behind its back, along with a pair of hands, feet and eyes.

Both of its hands and feet looked ethereal as well. It was as if a shadow had taken on a physical form, with each hand and foot having 5 segmented claws similar to that of a dragon. It's red eyes stared across the battlefield from under its hood, directly at Roth.

Without hesitating, he swung his sword at both Demi and the new arrival. A massive sword wave flew toward them, morphing into the shape of a large yellow snake with its fangs bared.

Many who had witnessed his attack in the past trembled before him, but instead of attempting to dodge or even counter, both Demi and the being with him just stood there in defiance. As the attack reached them, the cloaked being simply lifted its hand and caught the sword wave with minimal effort.

In the next moment, shock nearly paralyzed Roth as his attack was subsequently tossed to the side by the hand that grabbed it. The massive explosion that was generated as it landed shot beams of light into the sky that threatened to destroy the entire dimension they were currently in.

After the all dust and smoke cleared, Demi was gone and in his place was the cloaked being. Some very significant changes had taken place during the brief moment he was obscured.

A pair of demonic horns now curved upward from under the hood of the cloak, stopping just above a gold crown that floated above its head. The crown glowed unnaturally from within a black flame, seemingly made out of pure energy.

The wings that previously looked as if they were demonic in nature had now transformed into pitch black angel wings. It's black claws clung to a transformed version of Demi's scythe that crackled with red and black energy.

For the first time in his life, Roth felt a feeling rise from within him and freeze his body in place. That feeling was fear, but it wasn't fear for his own life.

No...

Instead, it was fear for Demi, for he knew what Demi had done and what that meant for him.

"Why would you do that! You know that even if you defeat me, you will die!"

"...."

Instead of a reply, a sinister grin just slowly appeared from underneath the darkness of the cloak, revealing behind it a complete set of sharp white teeth.

Before he could say anything more, the being appeared directly in front of him and snatched him up by the throat so fast, an afterimage of Roth was even left behind still standing there as if nothing happened. From Roth's point of view, he had simply blinked and the next thing he knew he was being lifted off the ground.

Beginning to struggle against the claws that dug into his throat, pain shot through his body as his arm was effortlessly torn off and cast aside.

The being hadn't even moved an inch...instead his red and black aura moved by itself and ripped Roth's arm from his body.

"Any last words before you are torn limb from limb?"

It spoke with a distorted voice, teeth clicking together as it coldly dropped Roth in front of him, causing blood to spew from his open wound.

"Yeah...th-thanks for giving...me...enough t-time."

A grin managed to creep along his lips despite the agony coursing through his body.

As the thing cast it's vision around the battlefield, ominous symbols started glowing in the same places the mountains were sundered earlier. Carved into the rubble of each mountain was a symbol for infinity.

With it's eyes locked on the glowing rubble, a menacing growl erupted from under the hood.

"An infinity hex!? Damn it! I should have finished you off quicker!"

Roth used his remaining arm to send a wave of power over to the Infinity Hex. A smile curled onto his face as the entire dimension began to shatter around them and collapse in on itself. The only thing that was left behind was a super massive black hole.

Centuries passed as the black hole evaporated...

As its gravity began to weaken, a massive ball of dirt and debris was cast out from within it. The ball passed so many planets and galactic bodies throughout space that its course was completely altered.

Eventually...it began heading directly toward earth.
