Naming

After a few more days of rest, Reyes and Leezy finally got back to their peak condition…

Melony was excited to see them walking around again. It had been hard for her to see them injured so badly, especially knowing they had got that way trying to protect her so she was grateful they managed to make a full recovery.

"Hmmm…now that I think about it, you guys never got the chance to meet Mister Wolfie! Come! He helped save you two so I know he would probably like a thank you!"

Tugging hard at their hands, she tried her best to pull them towards the front door. With a long sigh Reyes began walking with her, but Leezy on the other hand stood his ground.

She came to a screeching halt with him standing still as a statue. Visibly upset, she just turned around and pouted at him.

He returned her gaze with a blank face.

"Okay fine, stay here but at some point you are going to have to meet wolfie too Mister Leezy!"

"Yes, yes, I will…I just need to speak to Saphira."

What her history was with his mother was weighing heavily on his mind.

Once they had left, Leezy walked over to Saphira who was surrounded by a myriad of ingredients and instruments.

She was so focused on studying the vial Reyes had handed her that she didn't even acknowledge his presence. Every breakthrough she had made with her research within the past few days just led to more questions. She had never seen anything like what was contained in the vial.

Instead of interrupting her, he decided to sit down and watch. To his amusement, she began shifting uncomfortably in her seat after finally noticing his gaze upon her.

"You said earlier that you needed to speak with me, yes?"

She tore her attention away from the vial and turned toward him.

As soon as they made eye contact, she could feel her face beginning to get hot.

Naturally, he was a handsome guy. He had a chiseled jawline with hazel eyes that was accented by a close cut beard. His fine black hair was pulled back in a pony tail with a portion of his hair left to hang free, curling around his broad shoulders and resting on his large muscles.

The web of veins that littered his arms pulsed softly with his heartbeat, casting subtle shadows across his tan skin as he sat with his arms crossed.

Not many people managed to see his face because of the armor he constantly wore so he felt naked and awkward. Still, he cleared his throat and spoke up.

"Yes, I really just wanted to know more about how you knew my mother. Unlike others who just heard of our parents, you claim to have had a relationship with her. We both know that if people knew of our lineage, it would cause problems. We usually don't let people who recognize us to live very long, you would have to be an acception to that rule."

His eyes measured her as he spoke, clearly skeptical of the woman standing before him.

Seeing the look in his eyes, she couldn't help but smile.

"Your mother grew up alongside mine but due to their sense of adventure, they ended up going separate ways before my mother gave birth to me. The day she saved us, my mother brought me along to scour the woods looking for a particular herb before being attacked by thieves. My father, whom had been injured, couldn't accompany her."

The thought of her father was a touchy subject for her but she forced herself to continue.

"She tried to fight them off but they overwhelmed her, pinning her back against the grass while she held me in her arms. My cries ended up reaching Illana who quickly rushed to our aid. She slaughtered all of those men and saved the both of us. Once i was of age, she assisted my mother in teaching me herbalism and science. I learned so much from your mother…it saddened me greatly when she had to leave us. I only understood why she left after i heard she was pregnant with you."

"What was your mother's name?"

"Lisa"

He slightly recalled hearing that name before as a child even though he had never met the woman.

With his doubts now at rest, he looked at Saphira with newfound interest. Unfolding his arms, he leaned back in the chair.

"So you learned from my mother? It's no wonder u were able to fix us up so quickly. What do you hope to gain from researching that vial?"

"Well, your mother's skill when it came to science and alchemy was otherworldly. If I can figure out what kind of ingredients she used to make it, then I might be able to replicate it in her honor. I want to help you two out as much as I can. Giving you two an ample supply of this stuff might save lives someday."

Hearing that, he couldn't help but smile. Even though his parents were gone, it was nice feel that there might be more kindred spirits on the earth that were positively influenced by his parents, much like Saphira.

Seeing him smile at her, Saphira's face felt even hotter than before.

She felt strange and didn't know what to do, so she just decided to look out the window into the starry night sky. After a while, she felt movement beside her. Upon looking back, her face became ten times hotter.

Deciding to get a closer look at her progress, he had decided to come lean down next to her. He was so close to her, he could smell nothing but her sweet scent. It reminded him of honey and flowers.

He resisted the urge to turn his head and instead focused on the various notes that she had scribbled.

"So far, what ingredients do you think she may have added to it? In my opinion, it tastes like ass, which is why I didn't want to take it when she offered."

"…"

"Uh, I asked a que-"

Before he could finish, Saphira grabbed and kissed him.

The taste of desire in her lips flowed through him and directly into his pants. Wrapping his hands around her waist, he picked her up and laid her down on the floor as he pulled her clothes off with one hand while spreading her legs with the other.

...….

The sound of love making could be heard down below, much to the amusement of Reyes.

'Ha ha, that sly ass son of a bitch!'

He thought to himself.

Melony on the other hand who was playing with the wolf just looked concerned. She had never heard such things before. To her, it sounded similar to a woman trying to sing while a loud audience gave her a standing ovation.

Her confusion made her stop playing with the wolf and walk over to Reyes.

"What is that noise? Are we getting attacked?"

"Not at all kid, when you are more mature you will understand."

He couldn't help but laugh at Melony's comment.

The wolf just sat back on its haunches, sheepishly looking up at the treehouse that trembled softly.

Grabbing Melony's hand, Reyes took her toward the far end of the lake along with the wolf.

"So, have you thought of a name for the wolf besides wolfie?"

"I think it suits him…"

The wolf stood up as if it understood and softly nudged Melony with a low whine.

She just stared at him, lost in thought…

After a while, a name finally came to her.

"I'll call you Snow, because of your white fur."

The newly named wolf howled in approval, and to both of their surprise, it started to glow.

The shine was so bright that nothing could be seen beyond it. It ended as quickly as it began, and now standing infront of them was a completely different looking wolf.

It had doubled in size and its fur was now lined with frost that gave off a cold aura.

"Thank you."

A voice crept into Melony's mind, shocking her.

"You can speak to me?"

"Yes! Because you named me, I have evolved and formed a bond with you. From now on you will know my thoughts and I, yours. Thank you Melony. I will stay by your side faithfully my friend and try my best to protect you."

Reyes just continued looking on in astonishment, finally smiling to himself as the wolf pounced on her and licked her face with excitement…
