Dominator

'Could it be...?' Achilles thought with doubt in his heart.

He had an idea of where this power came from, but he couldn't believe that it was really what he was thinking.

Shaking his head a little, decided that it would be better to just check, he half-closed his eyes before attempting to enter his Mindscape.

Each time a Divine rose to a new rank, he got an ability that suited his characteristics and personality.

Abilities that were granted got engraved directly into a Divine's soul that lied deep within the Mindscape.

The Mindscape was where lied a being's soul, but only those who got infected with the remnants could access it.

And only beings with high-level intelligence were capable to maintain their memories regarding the Mindscapes after exiting it.

Achilles took a deep breath and started concentrating to enter the Mindscape.

After a while, he opened his eyes slowly, and what he saw made him dumbfounded.

He was no longer hovering above a rooftop of an abandoned building. He was standing in front of a gigantic ebony castle that stood firmly on a desert with littered human bones surrounding it.

The ebony castle combined with the dark, starless night sky created a mysterious scenery that was both enchanting and terrifying.

As his mind was processing the image before him, the huge front door around 100 meters from the castle slowly fell, revealing 2 thick chains that connected the door to the castle's walls.

The door continued to fall until it fell flat on the ground.

The ebony castle looked as if it was welcoming him.

'So...this is my Mindscape?'

The Mindscapes were the souls' reflection of their owners' hearts, which were the embodiments of their thoughts, desires, and ideology.

Achilles had no idea what this place represented within himself.

He shrugged his shoulders and quickly put aside the matter regarding the Mindscape and shifted his attention onto what he was here for — the source of his power.

He slowly walked through the castle's gate and arrived within the castle.

Inside the castle was a large courtyard that spanned at least a few hundred meters in length.

The place was filled with dead and withered trees that looked like they could crumble just by a single touch.

In the middle of the courtyard was a large water fountain with an angel statue standing above it spewing water.

The statue would have looked like a masterpiece if not for it having a broken wing and the right side of its face was practically destroyed.

The water that came out from the statue was not the regular clean water, but dark black water that sometimes had a shade of red.

While everything seemed to have been abandoned for a long time but strangely enough, the castle still looked pristine and beautiful.

There was not any weed or moss growing everywhere, there wasn't even a single speck of dust on the ground.

...It was as if someone came to the castle and swept the place from top to bottom regularly.

Achilles gave the courtyard a glance before continued moving through it.

Soon he reached another ebony door around 180cm — a bit taller than he was.

He put both his hands on the door before pushing it wide open.

He couldn't see anything due to the darkness at first, but then multiple torches on both sides of the room lit up simultaneously.

What was weird about these torches was that they gave off a red color that almost looked like blood.

The room lit up by these torches created a chilling feeling as if the room was an actual living organism.

Achilles raised an eyebrow at the appearance of these torches before he looked at the room in front of him.

It was a throne room with a red carpet stretched from the doorstep to the staircase that led directly to the throne situated at the other side of the room.

The throne was made of actual gold putting an imposing and domineering feeling to those who looked at it.

Floating on the seat of the throne was a glowing white orb with a shade of red in its center.

Just by looking at it, Achilles could tell that it was his soul because he felt an invisible connection to it.

He approached the thing swiftly without hesitation and stared at it for a while.

He reached out his right hand and gently touched the soul.

It flickered a red light before returning to normal like it was excited.

Achilles immediately felt as if he was rummaging through his own soul and he slowly closed his eyes.

He started to search inside his soul, looking for something

...Soon he found what he wanted to see.

The corner of his mouth lifted slightly as he thought to himself

'Will of The Dominator...'

Achilles saw his first ability and now knew for sure that he was indeed — a Divine.

...At the same time, he was also a Corrupted.

He quickly looked through the information regarding his ability carefully like he was afraid to miss any important details:

'Assert authority as The Dominator to selected targets, enemies that are weaker than me both in rank and mentality will die and be revived as a zombie completely under my control. This only applies when the target is extremely weaker in both the latter and former and on the verge of near-death.'

'Those who are on the same ranks as I am will feel absolute terror and fear in my presence. If the target is a higher rank then the effect is still the same but greatly weakened, the reduced percentages of the effect will be dependent on the difference between the enemy's rank and I.'

'I can also teleport to the position of one of my minions' position.'

Achilles' smile widened until his face grinned from ear to ear.

He had gotten a very good skill!

'Hmm... what's this?' He was about to return to the real world when he noticed something else.

A little while later, his face morphed into a surprised expression at what was appearing in his mind.

'This is...'

There was another thing that was inside his soul, not only would this also aid him greatly in the future, but it also made what he was about to plan next much simpler.

It was time for the first step to begin!

With that in mind, he quickly exited The Mindscape and returned to the real world.

He needed to experiment with his newly acquired ability...or abilities.

In the Central Tower, which was situated at the center of the city.

The Central Tower was the headquarter of the government's bases that lied throughout this incredibly large city.

It was built by one of the founding fathers of this city who went by the name of Lucas that had unfortunately passed away in a dangerous expedition.

Lucas wanted to build this place at the center of the city which meant ambiguously pointing out his importance that he was the center of everything in this city.

...A pompous asshole, some might call him.

This was also one of the reasons why the tower was the highest in the city, it made all the other skyscrapers pale in comparison.

It was made from a material similar to glass but much sturdier, and instead of being transparent, it had a dull gray color.

At the top of the Central Tower, in a large room with a lot of windows to look out into the city.

An old man with wrinkles and strands of white hair on his head sat on a leather chair with his arms resting on the table.

He looked at the two people in front and said in a low, suppressed voice:

"What is the meaning of this?"
