Chapter-23: End Of Year 2! To The Extreme North!

"His face really looked funny." Grandmaster says as a positive add on to Tang San's words while Shen Long rushes to the dormitory room. After reaching the room Shen Long lays on his bed and then takes in a bit long breathe and releases it. Continuing for five minutes he stops and comfortably laying on his bed he starts processing all the information as he feels that his knowledge will be useless for Tang San and Grandmaster.

While he is thinking a pillow comes on him locking his entire face so he forcefully breaks the force of the other and then pulling the person's head in his lap he says, "What is it Xiao Wu? Are you angry or something?"

Xiao Wu giggles and says, "No. I just wanted to prank with you. But has your work finished? Didn't you say it would take atleast two hours and it's not even an hour?"

"Yeah, it unexpectedly went on too smoothly." Shen Long replies with an awkward smile.

"Then how about we all head out for visiting the fun fair." Xiao Wu says excitedly.

"Fun fair?" Shen Long asks a bit confused.

"Huh? Don't tell me you forgot that from today onwards there will be Fun Fair in outskirts of Nuoding City for a whole week? Hehe Shen Long is really a training bug." Xiao Wu at first exclaims with shock and then says teasingly.

"Okay stop doing this. Then by we all you meant out friends, right?" Shen Long asks and as Xiao Wu nods in agreement he continues, "Then tell everyone to get ready. We will now head out to the 'Fun Fair'.

After that Xiao Wu goes to inform their friends and about half and hour later as everyone gets all ready, they set out to the Fun Fair. In the fun fair they enjoy varieties of foods, rides, buy some things and finally all of the kids who went to fair at around 2:00 PM return around 7:00 PM with all the girls talking about their fun while all the boys carried the things except Hong Di who was just laughing at the other boys but stops after suffering few killing glares.

The day ends for them with lots of fun. After returning to the Academy, all of them take turn washing themselves and about 9 PM all of them head to sleep while remembering the events throughout the day.

Likewise this week also passes by and school year ends. Now Xiao Wu and Shen Long bidding farewell to thei friends head to the Martial Soul Lord Hall where their grandparents are waiting for them. After greeting everyone outside both the kids head inside looking at four people waiting for them. They both greet grandpa Mathew and Su Yuntao at first then run off to their grandparents hugging them.

After that the six people within the beautiful room talk a bit more for some time. After bidding farewell to Su Yuntao and grandpa Mathew, Shem family heads back to village where everyone gives warm welcome to the two kids. And the previous time a small party is being taken place within the newly developed Village Hall.

As the party ends and everyone returns to their houses bidding Good Night to eachother, Shen family sit in the sofa of their house's living room and start to chat a bit, talking about the events in academy and other fun things in city and village. (Well for past month they hadnot visited Shen Long).

After that Shen Long also starts explaining the requirements for his 2nd-Soul-Ring(With some help from system; About type of Soul beast):

• Top Notch Light and Ice Element

• Dragon Type

Xiao Wu on hearing says, "Shen Long, there is not even a single one like that in Star Dou forest because Light Element Dragon Soul Beast are very rare but are available while for Ice element only low level ones are there. So how is it possible for you to get one?"

"You are indeed correct. But if not Star Dou Forest we have another place." Shen Long answers to her confusion.

"Another place? You don't mean?" grandpa asks with a hint of understanding.

"You must be crazy little one. To talk about going to the Extreme North." grandma says.

"Shen Long, what do you mean? You know that even if the Soul Beast of your category might be there but it still will be too difficult to findout and Da Ming once said that there are lots of hidden dangers within that place with some around 200,000-years-old soul beasts roaming there." Xiao Wu says with a tense tone.

Hearing that a soul beast above 200,000-years-old exists in the place the grandparents make a dazed expression as they feel shivers down their spine while Shen Long also acts dazed.

His grandparents and Xiao Wu try to make him avoid this place bit Shen Long stood firm as he knows the dangers but also believes in his luck and finally he inverses the situation making all three of them accept his way.

After that all of them spend next week within village helping the villagers, spending some time with them and for other works. After that the Shen family including Xiao Wu gead out to Star Dou forest.

They spend about a week there talking and having some fun with Da Ming, Er Ming an Zhong Hou while Shen Long also prepares some healing concoctions along with Soul power recovery concoctions. Da Ming unable to change Shen Long's mind suggests him various safety methods to survive.

After that all four of them bid a short farewell to Star Dou forest and head to The Extreme North as they also keep Da Ming's warnings and suggestions in mind. With grandpa and grandma flying at full speed carrying Shen Long and Xiao Wu respectively.

On third day of travel as they rest by a cave for sleep Xiao Wu curiously asks, "By the way Shen Long, how much more is it before we reach Extreme North?" to which Shen Long after checking a map for few seconds replies, "We are half way through." smiling as his words contains his excitement and then putting up a fire and eating their dinner, they chat a bit more where grandma says rubbing her hands , "It'd already started to get cold here. I don't know how much colder will it be there?" as the Shen family sits around a bonfire and grandpa says as an assurance to grandma, "Don't worry dear, I possess Extreme Grade Fire Element. It's enough to have us all heated up there. And if it's a bit more extreme we can continue our work slowly, who is in a hurry!" as he brings grandma, his wife, closer to him making her blush as she says, "Dear, the kids are here, don't do this!" as she tries pushing him away.

A thought comes in Shen Long's mind and then he copies his grandpa pulling Xiao Wu near to him. "Shen Long, don't be a Rogue. Let me off, I am not cold!" as she also tries pushing him off but fails watching which grandma says, "Shen Long, you anx Xiao Wu, Hmm hmm." Hearing which Shen Long anx Xiao Wu turn their heads in opposite direction. After few more minutes, as grandpa and grandma finish their talk they turn their head to Shen Long and Xiao Wu only to find them asleep with Shen Long tightly hugging Xiao Wu while she leaning on his shoulder. Both of them slept silently and looking at them both the elders smile. Grandma puts on a blanket over them and applying more of Shen Long's Soul Beast repellent both of them also head to sleep. Next morning early Xiao Wu by chance wakes up earlier and seeing Shen Long near to herself she finds the moment warm and happy but when she feels tight grip on her stomach, she properly notices that Shen Long is asleep hugging her and she is leaning on his shoulder. She turn red-pink from blushing and then initially whispers in Shen Long's ears, "Shen Long let go of me. Wake up, otherwise grandpa and grandma will see us like this. And if they do, then they won't stop teasing us. While you don't mind much I do, so hurry up." and then tries to take off Shen Long's hand off from her stomach only for Shen Long to tighten his grip and pulling Xiao Wu resting on her stomach making Xiao Wu fluster and hence she punches Shen Long waking him up with 'Ow'and freeing her up. After that both of them prepare for breakfast while grandpa and grandma return from a walk outside of cave. They both look at Shen Long and Xiao Wu with a teasing look making both the kids fluster. After that both the grandparents also help and all of them after having breakfast rest for a bit and steadily head for their destination.

After four days, having crossed beautiful forests, rivers and hills the Shen family, which of course includes Xiao Wu, instead of being in lead by grandpa and grandma flying are all walking right now crossing a large mountain. Xiao Wu then asks, "Shen Long, how much more?" as she shivers from cold to which grandpa replies, "Have patience Xiao Wu, thus is the last barrier." assuring Xiao Wu that they have reached. as they start climbing down the mountains Shen Long says, "Look there it is, our destination." as he points to a white land with rugged surface with white mountains after that they start putting on warmer clothes and after a few more hous later in the white surfaced snowing no man land, four figures are seen staying close to eachother on a search and the four figures are no one else other than members of Shen family. Xiao Wu asks, "S-S-So is it t-the E-Extreme N-N-North ?" as she shivers from coldto which Shen Long replies, "Yes, but only the outer region. We have to head inside the inner region for my Soul Ring." with an awkward smile.

After that wearing more warmer woolen clothes made up of fire type soul beast and with help of grandpa's Martial Soul's fire energy they warm themselves up and start searching for Shen Long's required soul beast.

Even after multiple hours Shen Long doesn't find a single Soul Beast of Dragon bloodline, forget about specific element. Days start passing by and about a week later, the group of four reach the edge Outer and Inner Region and not to mention deeper and deeper from where they started.

"Shen Long, are we even going to find one?" Xiao Wu complains as there is none there that meets Shen Long's category. Shen Long then says, "Well, let's search for another week, and if no result I will take the alternative. Okay everyone?"

Everyone nods. They are not in a hurry because of time taken but because of the dangerously cold and icy environment harmful for everyone as grandpa's Fire Element is also getting weaker the more they

head deeper.

Three days later as Shen family is searching they find a medium sized, but deep underground cave most suitable for staying. Shen Long and everyone put the repellent within the cave walls and cave's entrance. They put on campfire and taking out their beds (From Spirit Guidance Storage Rings) all of them warming themselves prepare dinner and then after finishing the dinner start talking to eachother having bit of fun and then head back to sleep of course grandpa and grandma while Shen Long and Xiao Wu but everyone using own blanket. At mid-night Shen Long starts sweating as his head aches and he sees some images of a place in the very .... within his mind and then a voice rings out calling Shen Long to the place and then suddenly as the dream breaks up Shen Long wakes in a hurry and seeing everyone else sound and safe asleep he sighs in relief. After that pushing Xiao Wu who wrapped her blanket around her making herself a caterpillar is sleeoing above him, changes his clothes not to suffer from cold when the sweat dries up and then he starts making a rough sketch of the path and the place as much as he remembers from his dream. After that checking on the cave's entrance, he heads back to sleep and while on his way of doing so he also checks on his grandparents and Xiao Wu and heads back to sleep.
