----------------------------------------------------------------
Early in the morning, the Star Dou Great Forest lay in silence. It was a rare silence, albeit a brief one. The night when many soul beasts contended for sustenance had passed, but it didn't signify the forest was now safe.
Lu Yuan, who had resided here for a considerable time, understood well that finding a secure spot in the Star Dou Forest was as challenging as the impossible.
While the difficulty was substantial, the possibility did exist. Both the core circle within the forest and the den of a formidable soul beast provided refuge. Regrettably, these safe havens were off-limits to ordinary soul masters.
In a cheerful mood, Lu Yuan even found amusement in jesting with himself while stretching his limbs. Conversely, Tang San, who had spent the entire night seated in a tree, wasn't sharing this elated sentiment.
This was evident from Tang San's appearance. His eyes were bloodshot, red veins covering the whites, and faint dark circles resided beneath his sockets. His face bore the traces of wind and frost, with fine wrinkles marring his clothes and patches damp from the morning dew. In essence, he looked like a dispirited, defeated prodigal son.
However, his mental state wasn't amiss. Whatever Tang San had contemplated the previous night seemed to have left him quite excited.
There was no hint of fatigue in his eyes, even though the reality was different. Presently, Tang San, who couldn't even practice, had a physique notably inferior to his spirit's capacity.
A rustling sound came from behind. As both turned to look, they observed the rest awakening one by one. Yu Xiaogang approached Tang San with concern, positioning himself as a barrier between Tang San and the others.
With a polite nod towards Yu Xiaogang, Lu Yuan returned to the drowsy Xiao Wu. Extending his hand, he placed the small tent into his spatial world. In comparison to Time and Fate, Space afforded more convenience in daily life matters.
Tang San's eyes exhibited an involuntary tinge of envy as he observed Lu Yuan's actions. Although he had been asserting that Blue Silver Grass wasn't a worthless martial soul, he couldn't deny that it was indeed a spirit with minimal merits.
Of course, Yu Xiaogang remained oblivious to his disciple's somewhat lonely expression. Even if he had noticed, he'd likely dismiss it. Blue Silver Grass was unquestionably weak. Yet, as long as it facilitated Tang San's smooth passage through the initial phase, then it was far from being a waste martial spirit.
After a quiet breakfast of dry provisions, the group set forth on their quest for soul rings once more. However, this time, their ranks expanded further—another Soul Sage and two more Grandmasters joined their team.
Ning Fengzhi had no objections. Firstly, Flender currently led the team. Since Flender had consented and hadn't acted recklessly, Ning Fengzhi was content and worry-free. Secondly, Ning Fengzhi held a significant interest in Tang San.
Naturally, this intrigue was sincere.
Tang San's bun might not be as lavish as Lu Yuan's, but it could still be managed to satisfy his hunger. If necessary, he could even attempt to recruit them.
Regarding Tang San's martial spirit, Blue Silver Grass, Ning Fengzhi could only chuckle.
Was he kidding? Could the esteemed Clear Sky Hammer be outdone by mere Blue Silver Grass?
The more potent the martial spirit, the higher the chances of its inheritance by future generations. This was no secret amongst the major powers.
The prowess of the Clear Sky Hammer was beyond doubt, and even the 100,000-year Blue Silver Emperor couldn't sever the succession rate of the Clear Sky Hammer. As a result, there was a high probability that Tang San possessed twin spirits.
As for having a twin martial spirit, further recruitment might be essential. Nonetheless, Ning Fengzhi sighed inwardly. Tang San's background was excessively intricate.
The Seven Treasure Glazed Tile School's capacity to manage it remained uncertain. While Tang San might possess the ability to control it, the same couldn't necessarily be said for Ning Rongrong.
Casting a glance at Ning Rongrong beside him, Ning Fengzhi couldn't help but feel bitter towards his naive daughter. She was intelligent but lacked stability. This was Ning Fengzhi's current assessment of Ning Rongrong. In other words, she was still immature and required further growth.
Ning Fengzhi fiddled with his mental calculations quietly, oblivious to his disciple, Xue Qinghe, who was also experiencing instability.
Naturally, most individuals remained unacquainted with this detail, all thanks to Xue Qinghe's expertise in concealing his thoughts—an acquired skill from his early years. A worthless trick it may have been, but at this moment, it served its purpose by helping Xue Qinghe suppress the eruption of his murderous intent.
As Xue Qinghe stood before his father's indirect killer, his enemy, his restraint was astonishing. It exceeded the expectations of the Title Douluo.
In the background, trailing behind the team, were the two Titled Douluo from the Spirit Hall.. Xue Qinghe's breath quickened slightly, his usual anxiety resurfacing.
Tang San was Tang Hao's son. Tang Hao had once gravely wounded Xue Qinghe's father, Chihiro Ji. And then, driven by power, the woman had capitalized on an opportunity to take Chihiro Ji's life. It was a complex line of reasoning, a strange logic that persisted even before the truth was revealed.
The luck that had shone upon Tang San was rapidly diminishing. It struggled amidst the tide of forthcoming opportunities. Fate often favored certain individuals. Some were born into poverty, others into affluence. It was a matter of luck.
However, this stroke of luck couldn't alter the grand power of fate within the Star Dou Great Forest. Instead, it seemed to trigger a sense of foreboding within Lu Yuan. Unintentionally, he glimpsed at Xue Qinghe, observing his distracted gaze, and followed that gaze. A jump in Lu Yuan's heart ensued.
Tang San! Xue Qinghe was staring at Tang San!
Subconsciously, Lu Yuan muttered a curse in his heart, his lips moving silently. In an instant, a sound transmission formed and he subtly sent it to Xue Qinghe. Xue Qinghe reacted swiftly, maintaining his composure as though nothing had occurred.
Lu Yuan released a silent sigh of relief. He hadn't detected any alterations in himself. Beneath his forehead, the eyes of God remained concealed, yet they subtly shifted.
The potent power of luck was immediately harnessed, alerting the Three-Eyed Golden Lion, Di Tian, and Yin Longwang. The Three-Eyed Golden Lion instinctively rose from the ground, peering into the distance as if attempting to glimpse a figure within the jungle.
"He's coming!" the Three-Eyed Golden Lion exclaimed. "I can feel it, he's truly coming!"
Di Tian's expression grew darker upon hearing this. "I'm going to bring him back!"
However, as he voiced his intention, an immense black dragon shadow soared into the sky. Regrettably, the moment the dragon shadow ascended, an overwhelming spatial force yanked it back down. Di Tian fell to the ground with a blank expression. The earth trembled mildly, gradually dissipating the residual force.
Not far away, the Skydream Iceworm seemed delighted. It had long harbored discontent toward this entity. Always taking the lead in devouring the meat and ruthlessly cutting into the flesh, this individual was ruthless! Yet, when it came to sharing meat, it was among those who consumed the most. Did this person believe others were fine without their flesh?
The scene unfolding before it was an embodiment of evil feeding on evil. Though the Skydream Iceworm wasn't sure how Di Tian had fallen, it didn't prevent it from venting its frustration. However, its elation was short-lived as it soon realized that an overwhelming coercion had enveloped the surroundings.
No, it was more accurate to say that an unparalleled coercion blanketed the area. In terms of strength, presence, or bloodline, this coercion utterly overwhelmed every soul beast present. Under its sway, not even the tiny ice silkworm, to say nothing of the Golden-Eyed Black Dragon King, Di Tian, retained his aura. Their presence, their existence, seemed to vanish. Instead, they appeared as mere lumps of black flesh, bereft of the faintest radiance.
Excluding the Auspicious Emperor Beast, who stood in a daze, the other soul beasts present lacked the qualification to stand up. Trembling, the Skydream Iceworm gingerly extended its head, staring up with fearful eyes at the resplendent silver-haired girl situated at the center of the Life Pool. Yet, its instinct forced it to lower its head—an action of great humility.
Incredibly fortunate—it was, after all, only an ice silkworm. So, whether it stood or not, was inconsequential.
