Chapter 72:War on Star Luo 1

"My lord, they have arrived at the destination, uninterrupted." A shadowy figure that has shown up before Xue Tie states.

"Very well. Then it's time for me to head out now" Xue Tie responds and begins to make his way out of the palace.

He then summons his robes and spreads his wings. Taking flight and reaching the army in half an hour after boosting himself a bit with his domain and 6th ring. He shows an uncaring attitude to his energy reserves due to being able to regain it thanks to Cruise, the energy recuperating amulet.

The location his army is stationed at is on the outskirts of a specific valley that houses the border city of Stellaris. This is the first city from Star Luo that serves as both the barrier against Heaven Dou's invasion as well as a focal point for their own offenses into Heaven Dou.

(A/N: I had made mention of this earlier when I introduced the kingdom and why it's location and revolution were so pivotal but i felt the need to re explain it in case some people skipped over it )

The reason that Xue Tie needs this city is because it's defenses go both ways for whatever reason that Star Luo wanted to shoot itself in the foot if the city got taken over. Regardless, it is a necessary city for further expansion into Star Luo.

Stellaris is positioned in the valley which serves as a natural defense that only heightens the defenses of the massive walls of the city. Of course, the city has access to the cliffs overlooking the valley from both directions too which means if he sets up a few bobs along the edges and has his people charge it up. He can easily bombard any attacking forces. Such fantasies bring a smile to his face.

Unfortunately it may remain just that, a fantasy since he plans to expand further and the only time he would get such a chance is if Star Luo had attacked back with enough force to reclaim their land and then arrived here. Granted that requires him to fully acquire Stellaris first which he has the confidence to.

Xue Tie looks at the sun and observes it's position to figure out the timing since clocks don't exist yet. He tells his troops.

"Rest and prepare for the assault in an hour." As for why he is waiting and giving the enemy a chance to spot his soldiers and prepare to defend. It's two parts. The first is that he is establishing a proper battlefield trend. He has send out a scout to deliver a letter of War to Star Luo's emperor. By sending the letter and then having them know he is attacking but still win shall show off the confidence he has in himself and his soldiers. This also has a demoralizing effect on the enemy where they undergo a mindset that makes them believe that nothing they do can stop him.

The second reason is so that his saboteurs that he has had placed over the past 6 months may finish their preparation. After all, who gives a shit about honor. It's just a tool used for self growth which only evolves to serve as a chain that can be used against them.

He sees no reason to tie himself down. With the final thought of his being that, sending troops inside an enemy fortress ahead of time is a viable strategy. Especially one they won't expect since he used his merchant connections to shuffle his soldiers in via the excuse of guards and mercenaries that made a bunch of money and had either been recruiting or placing traps in the city.

It was pretty much a miniature vacation for his people as they had the strength far above the 'typical' mercenary. They did a few odd jobs to maintain their persona such as guarding merchants, helping out against the local bandits, in general being nice to the people, planting some bombs.

Just some casual things to merge into the city and gain the trust of people as they showcase some strength. Amongst them are a few body refined members who naturally are able to exert higher grade strength than what is normally possible and as a result get praised for their talent. There have been some initial talks of recommending them to the higher ups at the Star Luo capital and while Xue Tie would have loved to have gotten people into there. He has no plans to take over the capital at the moment and only wishes to expand his territory until he reaches the required state of becoming a formal empire. Then he can proceed to rise domestically via technology and other scientific methods that only became popular in soul land 2 or 3.

With the sun finally reaching its peak and his own shadow underneath him. He waves to his soldiers and they begin to rise and get into formation if they weren't already while resting. "Forward March. Claim Stellaris in the name of the Empyrean Kingdom." Naturally he isn't a coward and takes the front position of his army.

Such a stance naturally allows the originally casually positioned city guards to tense up as they see the approaching army. They have heard tales of the Empyrean Kingdom as well as the evaluation of its strength but they never believed that it would have the guts to actually attack them so head on.

Alarms begin to ring as the citizens are crowded about to the safe zones and bunkers. These were prepared for combat situations to ensure the safety of the regular citizens since it is a border city after all.

Once Xue Tie and his army is within range, he does not stop. The newest members of the army are dumbstruck as they follow behind the elites. Their shock only increases as they witness the heavy metal gate lift up to allow them passage. Xue Tie had a pleasant smile on his face throughout the whole while. The guards panic once they realize the gate opens and the guard commander and has his people investigate only to be captured by the hidden experts amongst the hidden forces that Xue Tie had installed. The guards lost all hope as the entire army passed through.

"Capture all the soldiers, beat up the ones who resist but don't kill yet, also take over the administrative buildings. Don't destroy them. These are our people now. We can't be too harsh on them since they have welcomed us so openly. They have used such care to move all the guards onto the wall and the citizens into bunkers so that our people could fit in and move about with such ease. We must naturally cooperate with their efforts for the seamless transition of ownership" Xue Tie says and his elite soldiers slam their feet as they separate into various groups to do their task.

With the numbers provided by the rookie army, even if they are in shock. The overwhelming numbers is more than enough to have 3/4th of the soldiers to easily surrender as the remaining 1/4th were beaten to an inch of their life with their only saving grace being a drop of blood potion.

With a lack of a titled douluo at the moment, as the resident expert had been summoned away to the capital to discuss the war declaration that Xue Tie had delivered. It is unlikely they got very far which is why Xue Tie immediately moves to the opposite wall of the city to keep an eye out.

Lo and Behold, it's a fool who has abandoned his people and thus failed to protect the city assigned to him. Xue Tie watches as Jia Beng, the guardian of Stellaris, returns after being contacted in his comfy carriage that the city was besieged. He had returned alone to the city only to find Xue Tie casually sitting on the stone wall with a cup of tea in hand. It was kept warm in his storage item.

Xue Tie takes a sip then stores it away as he waves at Jia Beng. "Hey there neighbor. I've come to visit and was so sad that you were gone, i've come to wait for you. I also brought a few friends and they are mingling with your subordinates. Don't worry, nobody has died. Yet. So I ask, from one friend to another, that you surrender to me. "

"Impudent upstart, you shall find no mercy from me. You who could not recognize Mount Tai shall now suffer the wrath of Star Luo"

Xue Tie only has a cheeky smile on his face as he says to himself. "I've finally had my official wu xia conversation. Now I just have to make him open his own eyes to the real mt Tai." His wings spread as he retains his current elevation. Simply walking slowly but purposefully as he moves away from the city walls to not damage it. Jia Beng waits for this as well since it's quite costly to maintain the walls.

Jia Beng simply stares down at Xue Tie in respect even if he has a vat of rage boiling him alive. He respects the feats of power that Xue Tie has accomplished. With the foremost being establishing his own kingdom and taking down another kingdom along with raiding Spirit City to take away their Holy Lady.

Nevertheless, he summons his martial spirit, a giant bell floats beside him while Xue Tie hasnt even gazed once at Jia Beng with the exception of awaiting his arrival.

Hey yall

So the poll from chapter 69 shall be ending tomorrow. And currently the danmachi and bleach stories are even at 2 votes each while the other 2 original novel options only have 1 vote each.

As such, unless things change, i will likely begin writing the bleach story as when the voting first started, bleach got it's 2 votes very quickly while danmachi only had 1 vote in the beginning and in the weekend did it get it's 2nd. This gap in time and attraction is my reason for choosing it over the danmachi story.
