Chapter 56: Major News, frontal attacks and Major Battle

To say the least that Xue Tie's raid on the spirit hall mercenary camps didn't have any major repercussions is an understatement. The world itself exploded from the news that a 'hired' group under the Sun Moon Kingdom had stood up to Spirit Hall and blatantly slapped them in the face. And judging by the state of things, that slap might as well have been made of fire leaving behind a powerful brand in the minds of all who heard about this.

Rumors state that Qian Xunji was furious and his yells echoed throughout Spirit City, this rumor arose from the merchants traveling to and fro Spirit City. Since the people who live there as natives won't spread false rumors about the Pontiff if they want to live while Spirit Hall can't track down every merchant who visits spirit hall as that would be an economic disaster.

This ends up making Spirit Hall seem even more pitiful and the result is an increase in backing of the Balak Kingdom with even a few Spirit douluo elders and Bishops to be sent to assist in suppressing the Sun Moon Kingdom.

When the Moon douluo heard news of this he was shocked as his people had well and truly made enemies with Spirit Hall. He also cant deny any of the allegations because he did sanction Xue Tie's actions. He just didn't expect that Xue Tie wouldn't spare even the Spirit Hall members managing the camps. As such, he calls Xue Tie back to the throne room.

The man of the hour….day….week arrives shortly after being called upon.

"Sup Boss, need something" His laidback tone only seeks to anger the Moon Douluo even further as he almost yells loud enough for the city to hear…almost.

"Why did you also kill the members of the Spirit Hall from the camps?"

"It's a warning. One for Spirit Hall to disengage from the war. The fact that they didn't only shows their own arrogance. They don't care about the balance between Heaven Dou and Star Luo. They are only pursuing their own goals. If they truly cared about the balance then what difference is there between 2 empires and 3 once we also take over the nearby land from Star Luo. Heaven Dou will have to keep their tempers in check to ensure that they don't fall to Star Luo's ravenous claws and will seek out an equal alliance with you instead." He explains his actions and the possible future that exists

"Such a situation would indeed allow for a chance for Star Luo to fall victim instead and then we would be back to just 2 great empires. But couldn't we have simply sent them a letter or attempted to bribe Spirit hall instead to back out? How are you so sure that Heaven Dou would actively seek an alliance with us? Wouldn't we be forced to seek the alliance if Star Luo turned its gaze to us" The Moon douluo fantasizes a bit before snapping out of it as he realizes some things. 2 points are thus brought up.

Xue Tie shakes his head as he explains. "We must then go back to how this kingdom was beforehand. It is a lynchpin area that allows Star Luo easy access to Heaven Dou and vice versa. One won't allow the other to occupy the land. If one gets close, the other won't be far behind to either sneak attack or provide help to suppress the other again. The QinQi mountain range (custom made location) of Star Luo provides a natural defense should Heaven Dou try to break through from this land but the opposite is not true. Heaven Dou has no natural defense and as such, this land has tons more value to Star Luo than Heaven Dou. They cant allow this land to ever fall to Star Luo."

"As for Spirit Hall? Do you or the Sun Moon Kingdom have enough face to be able to persuade the illustrious Spirit Hall to back out after they publicly declared their support to Heaven Dou Empire and the Balak Kingdom already? If this was done beforehand there might have been a small chance they would accept if you became a vassal state to them but not now. If anything, after my attacks, this war is more about the Balak Kingdom supporting Spirit Hall as they attack us, not the other way around. Too arrogant, they need to be brought down from their ivory tower" Xue Tie rationally explains the 2 faults that the moon Douluo brought up and said Douluo can only sink back into his chair as he cant refute the logic.

Even if Xue Tie's words are insulting, they are right and so he can only send him away. 'Big Brother, you better come out soon or we will die'

In the coming days the war escalates, Balak Kingdom has sent out multiple units that Xue Tie's people try to break down but as the enemy gets more used to their tactics, their losses lessened greatly. Yet they still haven't reached the Sun Moon castle due to more people joining the Sun Moon kingdom as the longer it holds out, the more likely the chance that Heaven Dou will relent and acknowledge the self sufficient kingdom.

Due to this, these new individuals which include evil spirit masters in disguise have been recruited under Xue Tie's wing to attack the enemy from the front. Or at least these new guests are as his own people are laying in wait to spring traps or surprise attacks as such things happening in the middle of battle would shock anyone, best of all the enemy troops. The end result is not shocking until put into a more accumulative thought process.

At least 15 unit commanders had been sent out to fight and all are dead. These commanders can only be Spirit King or higher. These commanders also had subordinate captains and lieutenants who were at least Spirit Elders. Xue Tie himself barely even joins to maintain the format of even battles to not dissuade the Balak Kingdom from retreating. Xue Tie has only participated when the bishops of Spirit hall show themselves as they are either Spirit Douluo combatants.

Most of these bishops don't have beast martial spirits which means that even if they are Spirit Douluos and outrank him. He can easily brute force through them. Especially with the help of his martial spirit avatar. A 2v1 is easy to take the enemy down.

As for energy consumption in the long run of so many battles? Who cares about that. He has absorbed multiple red red rings and has a strong body. His energy reserves are equal to beginner Hyper Douluos at this stage thanks to his first soul core. With his second near completion he is already getting minor boosts to his power that allow him to be equal to Titled Douluos.

Though he can only take the low end if he doesnt use his 2nd martial spirit. Even more so on the defensive if he can't utilize his first 4 spirit skills of his armor as they are his bread and butter.

Nevertheless, the impact of his assaults are still felt by the kingdom and Spirit Hall as a decisive battle force was sent out. Made out of 2 thousand spirit masters above Spirit Elder and the leaders being 2 titled douluos. It's a force that is not messing around and seeks to take down the Sun Moon Kingdom but should it survive then its prominence is assured.

Xue Tie pulls out all the stops to slow down or halt the incoming army as he knows his miniscule force won't be able to take them down. Especially if the two titled douluos take a stance to halt his attempts.

Nevertheless, Xue Tie is both able to keep the army away until evening as well as the identities of the two Titled Douluos. They go by the titles of Ghost and Chrysanthemum.

The news brought a smile to Xue Tie's face as he is at least familiar with their styles and abilities. As such, he guided the Moon Douluo on both their abilities whilst playing off his mysterious master who was the one who made the blood potions that ensured his raiding party members didn't die.

But the Moon douluo isn't the only one taking interest in the potion.

In a distant land of withered woods and swamp land, 2 figures are meeting again. One of them is a figure in thick armor depicting a male physique is 'reuniting' with a shadowy figure that contains a sultry feminine voice.

"What have you discovered thus far?" The armored figure questions and the voice proclaims.

"That toy we saw last time is more interesting than I thought. He revealed some sort of healing concoction that seems similar to blood. One of my pets consumed it and rapidly healed from it's injuries. One half used bottle is in transit here but it will still take a few days but for our goals, that pet had killed itself in the midst of battle with Spirit Hall and the Balak Kingdom. Allowing me to acquire it's sensations and experiences. Would you like to gaze through it as well" She/It teases and the armored figure can only sight and say.

"Get it over with" his words earn him the pleasure of being covered in the same shadow that makes up the feminine voice. It is but for a brief moment before he once again talks.

"The brand was broken but it remains. He likely met with hunters belonging to 'them' but they fell. A trace of divine energy I sense on him but it's different. Impure. Delectable but unusable. As if the power and mystery of divine energy was taken in but not the essence. Ensuring he remains safe of 'their' influence. Cheeky" The armored figure praises before focusing on the potion.

"Blood, condensed…no, refined. Overflowing with vitality but i sense something more. Belonging to an old friend. A touching dash of madness and obsession."

"On that note, I looked more into his background and this pet since to be 'his' descendant."

"Descendent. BAH. more like reincarnation"
