Chapter 117: Death Versus Chaos (part 2)

With the only reasonable logic of the madness world used to put down the Chaos clown Tricky. Aka, a bullet to the head while being stabbed multiple times.

With such an action, the universe finally knew peace from the sentient form of chaos that plagued many worlds. Except that is a lie.

As Xue Tie gets off the chaos clowns 'dead body', it turns to sludge once again before reforming into an edgy looking black haired, green eyed teen in thick purple armor and an eyeball on their chest. A pair of purple wings burst out from their back and with a comically large clawed hand, 13 portals are formed that reveal the entire cast of the 13 lords of Chaos. Mages, musicians, sentient plants, Trolls, a knight and his king, and then a random guy in leather armor that then quickly morphs into a dragon[1]. With the 13 lords summoned, 'Drakath' creates another portal that leads into a zone of pure darkness that emits a similar presence as the chaos sludge. Xue Tie assumes that this is some sort of void region where it can gather up more energy. So to lure it back out, he must take down the lords as fast as he can.

The first is Escherion, a Battlemage who commanded the Lake Hydra, the first of many chaos beasts. Escherion wears thick purple robes with a mask that hides his face and spiked pauldrons on his shoulders with a staff that is just a giant tentacle with an eyeball at the top of the staff. This staff is called the Staff of Inversion. It hovers next to him and serves as a barrier for himself while he unleashes multiple spells at Xue Tie. He manifests 'magic circles' that summon a fireball that he promptly throws at Xue Tie. yet he simply dashes forward, killing the barrier around Escherion before cutting off his head and then destroying the staff the same way. He turns into sludge upon the floor as creating all the 13 lords seems to have split Chaos Drakath into chunks or something as he is just missing.

Xing and Xang, the first female set of chaos lords, the mirror masters summon a mirror and shine it at Xue Tie which reveals a second one. Effectively his opposite. Yet, everyone quickly realizes that this opposite is fast asleep due to Xue Tie's and technically Shades Busy nature throughout the short 20-some years they have been in this world. Xue Tie rushes to push both evil twins into the mirror which summons the good twins out who buff him before detonating themselves. Taking the 3rd and 4th lord of chaos with them as they were really more planners instead of fighters. They had access to their own form of unique magic but they knew that they could quickly be corrupted and thus blew themselves up to prevent that. Granted, the twins were meant to be fought as the last ones in the original story but they were the 2nd to be corrupted and then proceeded to corrupt many others for Drakath.

"Graugh, Vermin!!!" Wolfwing the werepyre, first of his mixed race, calls out in annoyance as he spreads his leathery wings to rush at Xue Tie. A werewolf who was bitten by the beautiful Vampire Queen Safira. He became a rage filled monster who wanted to destroy both races and readily accepted the power of chaos.

"Oh wow, I didn't know you even had a brain behind all that chaos goop you're made up of" Xue Tie retorts as he summons his own wings to outspeed the werepyre before severing his wings and just as he is about to land the finishing blow. He is blasted away by a loud shockwave caused by the next chaos lord.

Kimberely Freeman the musician[2], the lead singer of the band One-Eyed Dolls, strings her guitar to blast Xue Tie away. "I do not need your assistance woman" WolfWing roars out and he regenerates his wings to rush at Xue Tie again. Yet at the moment of impact, he is also blasted away but when he gets back up, He does not yell or shout or continue his rageful actions. He is calm as he flies beside Kimberely like a guard. Xue Tie quickly understands that the Werepyre has been hypnotized by the musical note that hit it. To his knowledge, the hypnosis typically took longer to hypnotize someone but that could have been a controlled environment. Xue Tie was likely immune to it due to the death flames that still coat his body. Yet he still double checks just in case and finds no outside forces.

He has an easier time in recognizing outside elements nowadays after breaking the veil in his mind. Xue Tie rushes forward at the two chaos lords. He swaps his trident for twin short blades and coats them in death. Kimberely tries to release another sound blast to knock him away but Xue Tie kills the surrounding air by unleashing a mock death domain, with no air, there are no musical shockwaves. Wolfwing then rushes forward as a shield but he is quickly diced up into chunks while the same fate follows Kimberely. She was more of a background manipulator like the mirrored twins by using various monsters to serve as her subordinates.

With 5 lords down, the next is Ledgermayne the plant lord. Its body is an assortment of grasses and flowers with a seed spitter on its shoulders (monster venus fly trap as pauldrons). Ledgermayne is a being made of pure mana from an elemental plane of magic from the AQ world various planes. He controls various elemental monsters but is also an exceptional spellcaster. The original game ensured safe zones against his charged attacks but Xue Tie doesnt care about such a thing. Which is precisely the case when he created an opening inside a powerful beam that it had been charging up this whole time. Xue Tie is forced to use tons of energy to create this split before he can destroy his core.

The next lord on the agenda is Tibicenas the djinn, he was mostly a threat due to his original djinn powers but he is a chaos construct here and thus is weaker than even Ledgermayne. He has the appearance of a purple ghoul with sharp claws on both hands. Short robes that cover it waste down with non-existent legs that are just a lightning bolt style cloud. Tibicenas floats around as it tries to regain it's djinn powers by absorbing the divine energy of the realm but it is interrupted by Xue Tie charging at him. Tibicenas tries to release a shockwave of chaos energy but is just outright beheaded before breaking apart into sludge and magical particles.

Khasaanda the Troll prophetess, a troll that was mocked for most of her life before she took down the previous chaos lord Krellenos and absorbed chaos into herself. Her appearance is that of a human with a giant chaos eye on her stomach and a bigger one on her right shoulder. Her entire body is covered in horn-like spikes which make her much taller and thicker than a regular troll. She was actually not loyal to Drakath but the Chaos does not care and is just making use of her since she was stronger. Her main power is the ability of future sight which she retains as she begins to dodge Xue Tie's twin short swords with only grazes on it's spikey body. Nevertheless, with such a slow sluggish body, she would have eventually made a mistake which is what Xue Tie had been aiming for and finally cut off her head. Turning the 8th lord to chaos sludge once more.

Iadoa The chronomancer, a human professor and researcher of time. One who was corrupted whilst exploring the annals of time, he was able to hold himself together enough to teach the player about various timelines that make up the Adventure Quest universe and how it was eventually merged into one during the destruction of Carnax (i participated in that in AQ battleon years ago. Before the anniversary event version of it came about). He is able to use chrono powers to create time constructs of various monsters and people but since this clone of Iadoa is short lived, it can only derive on chaos itself to create the chaos beasts themselves. The first of which is the Hydra which Escherion released. This is followed up by the Chaos harpy that Xing and Xang released when they merged into Xiang. Then the Rock Roc which was released by the Samurai Lord Kitsune. None others are summoned and Xue Tie can clearly tell that Iadoa is strained which means these time constructs are harnessing alot of energy which overall weakens all the lords by a fair bit.

Xue Tie utilizes the flame property of his death abilities to burn the hydra to death. The Chaos harpy doesnt really look like a harpy. It's closer to a giant turtle with wings connected to it's front legs. Just like with WolfWing, he cuts off it's wings before beheading it. He then flips towards the Roc and completes the same action as these beasts needed time to properly harness their own power. If Iadoa had only summoned 2 beasts and then helped them merge their powers then they would have been much stronger. Iadoa himself is panting on his knees from overdrawing it's power when it is an outsider to the world. Harnessing a power it has no understanding or right to. Xue Tie shakes his head and beheads him. That leaves the final 3 lords left

Maximilian Lionfang the Imperial Knight, a foolish general under King Alteon who had submitted to Drakath in the pursuit of ridding the world of all evils. He could be seen as a more extreme version of Asura himself. He wears a lion like armor that was originally pure gold but after being chaorrupted, it became a pure purple armor with some gold on it. His whip has turned into a chaos tentacle weapon. The original Maximilian was not actually killed by the player in game but instead drained of chaos by Drakath before going to the mirror dimension and unleashing Dark Maximilian as his new champion. Regardless whether it's dark Lionfang or Chaos Lord Lionfang, An intense bout of swordsmanship versus whips takes place in the divine realm. Their fight continues for half and hour before Xue Tie finally spots an opening and cuts off LionFangs' arms before cutting off his head.

King Alteon The Good is the 12th lord of chaos, originally corrupted by a random attack by Drakath in the story. He had the chance to be saved but gave up that chance to try save Lionfang in the original works. He was the crystallized personification of a paladin king with exceptional swordsmanship and both buffing and defensive abilities. It also doesnt help that Xue Tie is starting to run low on energy by this point. He tries to end this quickly but his death wave is negated by the barrier the former king conjures up before rushing forward for an intense session of swordsmanship against Xue Tie. He is forced to merge his twin blades into a great sword to meet the king's heavy sword head on. Xue Tie is only able to end the former king as it runs out of energy, It tries to self detonate just like the twins but is cut in half by Xue Tie before it could.

The hero, the player, the 13th chaos beast, the dragon of time reborn after the world was reset by Galanoth for slaying the beast in an alternate version of the world (likely battleon or Dragon Fable). The human form of the beast had wondered about, unknowing of it's original self until long after being corrupted and destroying most of the world in it's pursuit of power before trying to replace Drakath. This is made visible by the 'faceless' humanoid apparition of the hero, who starts to morph into a giant dragon state. It looks like a green dragon with a golden chestplate and halo behind its head but above its wings. It has wisps of golden light emitting from its body like a thick trail. The dragon charges at Xue Tie who simply grants it death just like the original Drakath, by digging out it's life core and crushing it.

With the death of all 13 lords and even some chaos beasts, Xue Tie is very exhausted and low on energy. Sheng Ming the goddess of life sends out ribbons of life force towards him that revitalize him and would prevent any injuries but it's his energy that is low, his body is physically fine still. He can only sit down to attempt to accelerate his own regeneration process through the deathcore that was re-established. It's size is gradually growing bigger as the death godhead feeds it energy but it isn't able to revitalize him at all.

In the meantime, the accumulated Sludge of the chaos lords merges together into a portal that Drakath walks through. He has grown taller/bigger and wields a giant purple greatsword which he stabs down and begins to clap as he observes the result of the giant battles that have occurred here. "You are quite skilled. Why not join me, your deepest pursuits would be made available to you. Your limits would grow beyond your current state. This world and many others would be under your control."

"Thanks but not thanks. What do I care about in other worlds? Your bullshit has tired me the fuck out. I just want to sleep like my mirror self. So ya know, just die already." Xue Tie says and with wings spread he forces himself to charge at Chaos Drakath, their greatswords colliding though Xue Tie has momentum on his side from him starting the charge and he kicks the embodiment of chaos away before unleashing a weakened form of judgment cut on Drakath.

The technique is only able to deliver hundreds of cuts upon his body but he heals them up…or at least covers them with chaos for the illusion of healing. Luckily, Xue Tie is not alone as when Drakath approaches to kill him, he is struck by a Blood Judgment strike from Asura. Xue Tie resummons his dragon trident and coats it in energy as it's slightly more energy efficient than creating a whole new weapon.

A new intense fight begins as Xue Tie forces himself to only use his physical abilities to match and beat Drakath. The Chaos itself is not a proficient fighter as small wounds begin to gather up on his body before Xue Tie is able to deliver the proper final stab to his chest and crush his chaos core that makes up the power source of his powers. Something that was likely created by Chaos when they were in the void of chaos, gathering energy.

Xue Tie jumps back and sits down in preparation for whatever comes next.

[1] So as i'm doing my research…Because i have only ever gotten to the 5th chaos lord when i played the game and by that point, it was dead. Granted I don't defeat the 2nd, 3rd or 4th chaos lords. I've fought the 4th but I don't remember beating him. I did meet Kimberely tho but that's enough of that.

So back to the research, it seems the player character is the reincarnated form of the dragon of time which is the first but also final chaos beast to be released and it was also corrupted into the 13th chaos lord. More ya know.

[2] Originally, the 5th lord was assumed to be Discordia but he was actually a good musician who wanted to unite people before he was hypnotized by Kimberely herself.

SIde Note: This chapter made me get back into the game and I beat the first lord Escherion in the meantime

Escherion, Vath, Kitsune, Wolfwing(with Twilight vampire part of the story), Discordia/Kimberely, Ledgermayne, Tibicenas, Twin Troll lords, Iadoa, Lionfang, Twins, King Alteon, the hero and drakath. That is the order in the game for the lords and how you fight them.

Side Side note: I apologize that i'm diverging from Soul Land material but something like this would never show up here which is why I as a fanfic author have the power of cross contamination for different sources.
