Soul Excorcist: I reincarnated with the ultimate skill

After Mark Hemsworth's untimely death in the normal world, he is reborn into an entirely different realm—a world ripped straight from the pages of a fantasy web novel he once loved, filled with dangerous creatures and malevolent spirits, far from the idyllic fantasies often depicted in stories. In this new world, Mark is fortunate to inherit a powerful System that bestows upon him a cheat skill: the ability to gain abilities at five times the rate of anyone he forms a bond with. This extraordinary gift presents Mark with an unexpected pathway to power, but the ambitions of the family into which he is reborn challenge his desires for a peaceful life. Thrust into a destiny he never sought, Mark must rise to become a legendary Exorcist alongside his twin. As is typical in the world of web novels, their path is fraught with peril, plagued by challenges and dark forces conspiring to plunge the world into chaos. Now, navigating his rebirth in a world teeming with supernatural threats, Mark's primary battle is not just against the encroaching darkness but also for the chance to experience the joys of life he missed out on Earth. Each day is a step towards mastering his abilities and a fight to carve out the existence he truly desires.

Chapter 18: Soul System Quest... I can get stronger

Chapter 18: Soul System Quest... I can get stronger

'I have everything i need to train and get stronger, all I need now is space.'

Ruthar strapped his scabbard tightly to his waist and grabbed unto a hat placing it on his head.

After his conversation with Hendricks he had finally come up with the topic of running away and hiding for the time being. At least till he became five years old.

He already packed all he needed in his storage ring and was ready to go.

{Storage Ring; is a ring that can store a large material or load, making travelling much easier. It had it's limits and it's not adviced to be used on living beings}

'Now all that left is the Elevation art of the soul.'

He specially wanted to pick that one last and savor the moment. It was almost dawn and time to flee from the Spade Horus.

Even Ruthar knew it was impossible at his age so he would simply settle for training somewhere unseen, reserved or maybe remote.

He rushed out of his room headed straight from the library while he fantasized safe hiding spot he could live in. So far just two seemed valid.

The enormous artic of the castle or the secret training grounds below the lake in the main castle (an Option based on what Ruthar read from the novel).

He opened the door to the library retracing his steps back to the shelf. Thank to the lightening environment he could easily tell where he was going this time and in the nick of time was already before the book once more.

The blue cover book shone beforebhis eyes withsome sort of glimmer Ruthar could not resist but as he grabbed the book and pulled he noticed it was stuck.

'How is the greatest book in the library be so stuck?'

He jerked at the book forcefully until it eventually gave a cracking noise bending a bit from the spot it was before.

In several moments the shelf let out loud flattering sound as it moved back a bit exposing a secret staircase.

"Shit! This is unbelievable." Ruthar folded his eyes mesmerized by the secret passway.

'Now I know what this place is. In one of the older chapters Kimara used this way to leave the castle. Never knew this was how the Author meant it.'

(Author's note: Kimara grabbed one of the books and Activated a secret passway with it.)

Ruthar shook his heard recalling those words again, 'Cheap Author! That single statement in the book had over a hundred comments, so this was what you meant.'

But if this was the interpretation then what did the system mean by the notification earlier. It told him the book was here, could it have been a lie? Or maybe he had to keep on searching?

'No, this can't be a coincidence, if not for the notification the mercenaries would have killed me in bed. However I survived, met Hendricks and found out about the secret passage, so it has to be what the system meant.'

Ruthar concluded taking several steps into the passway and putting up a flame ball in his hand to light the way. The place was old and had not be used for decades now so there were no torches lit.

[You have completed condition]

[You have recieved A Soul System Quest]

***

Ruthar continued down the passway getting off the stairs and to a straight platform. He couldn't get his eyes off the information pouring in from the system.

[You can now grow stronger aside from your soul connection]

[You have gained the ability to absorb souls 'Soul leak'. Weakness: Range, fatigue.]

[Mission: Pending till you have reached the event center]

"Soul leak, I don't know what the means but it should be really fascinating," Ruthar mused. He was a but disturbed about his impact in the story and Spade Horus.

If he were missing for a total of seven months, did that mean the story would continue with his impact or would reset to the original plotline?

After a short while of thinking he decided to leave things in that confusing aspect and keep in mind his way.

'It's been a while now, does this place not have an end.' even the way seemed unending having various turns and routes that made Ruthar imagine he was walking in circles.

But as time went on a notification popped up before his face once more.

[You have successfully reached the Nightmare Moon forest]

"I never thought I would be in this place so early though." Ruthar narrowed his eyes as he reached the end of the path to gaze upon a dark forest with an evil demeanor and Aura.

It was lit by the moonlight and mystical purple and blue glowing objects in the sky.

'According to the novel those lights were named Arikans.'

Ruthar enjoyed the view a bit walking out of the tunnel and into the open. The platform was crunchy and very dark like.

This would be his territory for the next few months.

[You have successfully entered the nightmare forest... Your missions have been updated]

[Kill fifty monsters]

[Level Up]

'Level up? Kill monsters? This is giving me the video game vibes,' Ruthar patted the blade on his waist to reassure himself and began marching into the forest, "fifty monsters? Is that difficult to know?"
