The Long Journey

She stood there in silence wondering what to do, with Erick gone she wasn't sure how she should live out her life. Suddenly an idea came to her.

"I want to track Erick down… his last name is Harondale and his family was well known throughout the 10 kingdoms…"

She looked towards him hopeful and then asked "By the way you didn't give me your name… may I know it?"

He paused for a moment before replying.

"Maurice Cardebal, duke of the 10th kingdom… or at least I think I still am duke. Heh I haven't been back in a few years , my life as a royal got pretty boring so I abandoned my duties to come watch out for you." He looked out smiling fondly.

"It was like waiting to watch the birth of something new, then again I was prepared to end you in case you may have gotten turned by the wrong kind of our species…"

He taped his fingers thoughtfully on his chin.
