The Senior Shi

"Oh, it got even shorter," Yami muttered while looking at the timer. " I think I've overdone it."

"You did great there, Ying," Ma Song gave him a thumbs up before calling another trainee to fight.

Yami looked at the crowd that was staring at him with wide eyes. He knew that his score would gather the trainees' attention, but he didn't care about it.

"Hey, how did you do it?"

"Did you have some sort of training!?"

Several trainees went to him for questions, but Yami only shrugged since he didn't want to bother answering them.

"Everyone, keep silence!" Ma Song shouted to keep everyone from causing Yami trouble. "Stay on your seats."

The training went normal as Yami rested at the back, but it didn't last long when three men stood before him. Yami looked up and saw that it was Gang's group.

Gang leaned down at the level of Yami's face and stared at him for a few seconds. "You look strong aside from your small frame. You should join our unofficial squad, and let's work toward Master rank!"

"I decline," Yami immediately replied without a doubt and ignored them.

"You!" Han, one of Gang's friends, gritted his teeth and stepped forward to give off a domineering aura. "You will regret not joining us."

"We are the best group among all the trainees here," Ye, beside Gang, stated with pride.

Yami closed his eyes with a loud sigh. He stood up and faced the trio, who was still trying to convince him to join their group.

"I already joined a squad," Yami stated for them to stop bugging him.

"Eh! You prefer to join those weaklings, HA!?" Gang laughed mockingly and ensured his voice was loud enough for the nearby trainees to hear.

Yami looked at them dumbfounded. He didn't know if he should laugh or be pissed at their behavior. "And you think your squad is strong enough?"

"What!?" the trio shouted in unison. They didn't expect Yami to judge their strength. This also hurt their pride since they thought they were far more potent than the rest of the trainees.

"Don't you see my points!?" Gang shouted and aggressively lifted his arm, pushing it in front of Yami's face to see. "It's 521 points!"

Gang's two friends showed their arms too, which had 342 and 399 points."

"Oh," Yami tilted his head to the side. It was not his attitude to went along with immature fights, but he didn't like arrogant people who looked down on others and made themselves feel superior.

Without saying a word, Yami lifted his arm and showed them the points he gained, which he wanted to hide in the first place.

"1,000 points!?" Gang shouted in disbelief, grabbed Yami's arm, and looked closely at the points. "You're kidding, right!? This is fake!"

"Are you saying the Defender base is faking the points or giving them out by mistake?" Yami's eyes squinted and scowled at them. "Is that what you're saying?"

"Uh n-no," Gang muttered, removing his hand on Yami's arm. His squad took a step backward, and that was when they noticed that all trainees, including several official Combatant present inside, were looking at them.

"If you got a problem with the base. Why don't you go and complain about the point system or transfer to another class," Yami muttered nonchalantly before walking away from them.

The crowd was in awe and found Yami cool and manly. At the same time, the entrance door opened, and Shun entered the room.

"Ying!" Shun yelled and waved at Yami to notify him of his arrival.

"Ah, Shun," Ma Song said and looked at Shun, who waved at him too. "You're teaming up with Shun, Ying?"

"Yes," Yami answered. "I think the transfer process is finished."

"I see," Ma Song nodded and let Yami go toward Shun.

"That was fast," Yami stated with a smug. His eyes glanced back toward the trio, who was still looking at him. It was now known that he would be teaming up with an official Combatant once he reached Master rank.

"Hmm, the transfer office was empty, so it was processed faster than I expected," Shun laughed while scratching his head. "I'm officially in the Tsuki branch now."

Murmurs started echoing in the training room upon hearing what Shun had said. That was when they paid attention to the symbol of the Tsuki branch on their right shoulder, making them the center of attention.

Primarily since it was known that the Tsuki branch was picky in choosing the Combatants to join them and train aside from their pro-raider concept. Although, only the older and higher-ranked Combatants knew about the difference between the three branches.

"So you're the new recruits under Liqin?" a man walked toward them. He was wearing civilian clothes and was sipping an orange juice.

Yami didn't recognize the man, but he saw how Shun reacted to the man's arrival.

"Senior Huang Shi!" Shun exclaimed and bowed to show respect.

'He must be a legend or Mythic rank Combatant,' Yami thought and observed Huang Shi's physical body and aura.

Yami looked up at the exclamation mark on Shi's head. Initially, he was not interested in people's information and ignored the skill he had acquired, but he was curious this time.

Yami clicked on the mark and acted like he wiped his forehead, and a screen appeared next to Shi. He took a step back and let Shun and Shi have their conversation.

'He's strong,' Yami thought while staring at Shi. Somehow, he wanted a mock battle with him in the future, just to see who was stronger than the two of them.

"This must be your new squad member?" Shi stated and looked Yami in the eye. "You did great at the Raider battle earlier."

Yami clenched his hand into a fist. He didn't realize that Shin was watching with the crowd. "Thank you, Senior."
