Sors Mea Online (SMO) [Rough Version]

(The Cover and Story are in the "Early Stages", so this will be a "Template" of sorts for a possible future "Polished" version) Are you interested in the World that you currently live in? Do you love the way that the Animals live, and the way that the Atmosphere is slowly being tainted? Cool, then this might not be for you. This revolves around the Full Dive VR Game of "Sors Mea Online", or SMO. With the Advancements in Technology, Games have gone a Step Up in the world, and can now be experienced in 1st Person. SMO, however, was but a Step Higher than the rest. Made by One Person, who goes by the Nickname "LucXy" (Luck-z-y), the world has gone from Silence to an Uproar after they saw the advanced mechanics and AI in SMO. With over 30 Years in Development, it was finally released, with No Beta, No Alpha, and absolutely No Pay-to-Win Features involved. What was once thought to be a Lame game created by a Nobody Developer, was later all over the World. Nearly Every person on the Planet has heard of Sors Mea Online, and a bit over Half of the Earths Population played SMO. (By the way, the world of SMO is around 2x bigger that Earth) The words "Sors Mea" translate from Latin to "My Fate". So "My Fate" Online, was, in the Literal sense, "A Game where you can become Practically Anything." Farmer? Cultivation Skills Exist. Swordsman? Attack Skills Exist. Babysitter?! Buy some Land and build a Daycare or an Orphanage. When the acronym "NPC" is heard, you would usually think, Simple, Bland, and Repetitive. However, in this world, what some players only see as Lines of Code, many others see them as Nearly Human. With the Human-Like NPC's, the People of SMO live like normal. Farming, Building, Studying, Learning, Training, and even learning Skills or Magic. Like the Real World, the People of SMO can Feel Emotions, have Memories, Feel Pain and Delight, and even have Children, with both NPC or Player. Yup, players can raise a Virtual Family that feels too real to be fake. With the many types of Skills, Magics, Weapons, Items, and Creatures in this world, there are practically no such thing as having nothing to do. Craft, Train Skills, learn Magic, conquer Dungeons, or just Have a Shop, or Raise a Family, be an Adventurer and see new lands, fight Monsters, and be wary of the Unknown. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Now the Story of SMO will revolve around an 18 Year old Kid who discovers a FDVR Headset by Accident while he, like any Cliche, was running from some of his Bullies that have been with him since Kindergarten. Upon Logging In to a New Account, he sets a Username : LacX. (Lack-z) When he logs into the game, he is told to allocate 100 Stat Points, and choose 1 Unique Skill, and 3 Normal Skills, as well as a Weapon. Since he doesn't like to fight very much, he decided to just let his Speed do the work, and put every Stat Point into Agility. When he finally steps into the starting Town, he is Immediately hit with a Message : {Acquired New Skills} With these New Skills, he was Immediately shocked at how fast he can really move with 1000 Agility. As he Levels Up, he starts to get a bit into Smithing and Jewel Cutting. With his new found Skills and his rediculous Speed, he will attempt to climb to the Top of the Central Tower, also known as The World's Greed. What's in the Tower? I don't know. Who is the Developer of SMO? Maybe save some questions for Later. How OP of an MC are we talking about? Read it, and maybe you'll find out. Other than that, there will be many other attributes to the Story, like Heroines, some cool Equipment, a Child, and many more Aspects of SMO. {MC Character Sheet} [Name : Suuco Tsukuyomi] [Age : 18 B-Day : Oct. 1] [Gender : Male] [SMO User : LacX] [Unique Skill : Copy] [Stats] {Level : 1} {0/100 Exp} {Str :1} : Physical Damage {End : 1} : Defence {Agi :1001} : Overall Speed {Sta : 1} : Used for Active Skills {Mag : 1} : Spell Strength {Wis : 1} : Mana

SMO Chapter 1.2 : Unlikely Chance

"Let's see what we're dealing with."

With those words, Suuco begins unpacking the FDVR Headset, and plugging everything in.

After a bit of trial and error, a slight vibration was felt on the headset for a split second.

"Now, where do I put this thing?" Suuco opens the Case to get the Game Chip from inside.

Looking around, there seemed to be a small latch on the side of the headset. Removing the latch revealed a small insert for the Game Chip.

As he inserts the chip, he thinks for one last time before he puts it in.

'Would be cool if it could be a game I was good at.'

With that, he inserts the game, closes the latch, puts on the headset, and lies in his bed. Pushing a button on the left side of the headset started the dive process with a little buzz sound.

The world goes white.

When he comes to, Suuco finds himself in a Small Blue Space. Within this space were 3 Screens, while the other 2 were greyed out, probably locked until he logged in.

'So I just put in a Username and Password. Seems easy enough."

As he thinks about a Username, his mind wanders to "LucXy", the Creator of the famous FDVR Game, SMO.

With a few clicks of some buttons, he decides on the Username, "LacX".

<Are you sure?>

<Yes> <No>

A second screen pops up for confirmation.

<Yes>

After clicking "Yes", the first screen glows a bit, then greys out. Afterwards, the second screen lights up.

<Please select a Weapon>

<Please distribute Stat Points>

'Weapons and Stat Points? Sounds a lot like an RPG.'

Looking through the weapons, he sees many options, all except Firearms. Well, he wouldn't want one if they were even on the list.

'Guess I could just use a Sword, or maybe something Smaller.'

As he rescans the weapons, he decides on the "Dagger" Weapon. A Dagger appears on his side, along with a Belt and Sheath.

'Now Stat Points. How should I do this?'

Looking through the Stats, there are 6 different stats.

<Str : 1>

<End : 1>

<Agi : 1>

<Sta : 1>

<Mag : 1>

<Wis : 1>

[Stat Points : 1000]

'What should I do? With 1000 Points I could become pretty strong, couldn't I? Well, I don't like to fight, and I don't like getting hit, so maybe I should just pump all of the points into Agility? I also don't feel like using Magic, at least not right now, since I would need to learn how to use it first.'

With his mind made up, he puts all of his points into Agi.

<Agi : 1+1000>

<Agi : 1001>

After the deed, the screen, just like the last one, glowed then faded.

Before he could look at the last screen, he was givin an optional window.

<Would you like to set a Job?>

<Yes> <No>

Not knowing what benefits a Job could give, he decided to play it safe.

<No>

The small window disappears, and the final screen lights up.

<Please choose a Unique Skill>

<Please choose 3 Skills>

'Unique? So only I would have it? Or is that just the rarity?' As Suuco thinks on that, he looks through the long list of Unique Skills.

After a while, it came down to 3 Options.

<Infinite Mana : No MP Consumption>

<Absolute Counter : Auto-Counter any blocked attack with 100% of the attacks damage>

<Copy : Copies and creates a Duplicate of something. Can also mimic enemy movements>

With "Infinite Mana", he wouldn't have to worry about MP Consumption, but he would still need to learn Magic.

With "Absolute Counter", he would just need to block, but there could be skills that can counter a counter.

Finally, with "Copy", there would be little to no downside. The only problem was, what he could and couldn't copy.

After an even longer time of thinking than before, Suuco finally decided on the "Copy" Skill, since he could probably duplicate important Items.

<Choose 'Copy' Skill?>

<Yes> <No>

<Yes>

<Acquired : <Copy> Skill F-Rank Level 1>

'Level? Rank? Are those important? and does that mean that I chose a Low Rank Skill?'

He decided to figure it out later.

<Please choose 3 Skills>

This list seemed longer than the last, but if he could get something useful out of this, then why not?

After what seemed like Days on end, Suuco finally has his 3 Options.

<Sprint : While Activated, 1 Stamina will be drained per second. Increases the users Agility Stat by 10%>

<Area Sense : Consumes 10 Stamina on Use. For 10 Seconds, feel a little of your overall surroundings>

<Quick Learning : Passive. All Skill Exp is increased by 25%, and Skills are 10% Easier to learn>

After thinking for a while, these seemed to be the most logical choice if he didn't want to get into Fights with others.

<Confirm Skills?>

<Yes> <No>

After looking through the skills again, he decides to continue.

<Yes>

Same as the others, the screen glows and fades. Afterwards, another optional popup appeared.

<Would you like the "Beginners Guide"?>

'Beginners Guide? Well, I do only have a slight hint of what this game is.'

<Yes>

A book appears from the Screen, and lands in his hands.

"Beginners Guide to Sors Mea Online"

As Suuco looks at the name of the book, he couldn't help but get a smile on his face. Finding a Box in an Alleyway, obtaining a FDVR Headset, and finally the Case with a Game Chip. The Chip contained the most famous game currently known to man, and he was playing it in his own house.

'What are the Chances?'

Sors Mea Online

After getting his mind back together, he flips to a random page in the Guide, which conveniently lands on a Page for explaining Skills.

[Acquiring Skills]

Skills are everywhere in SMO.

Flight, Magic, Strength beyond the normal Bulldozer.

Skills can be obtained in very many ways. Look at something long enough, maybe a Skill will pop up. Use your weapon enough, and get a Weapon Skill. Make something, and get a Crafting Skill.

With the amount of Skills that exist in SMO, anything could happen.

Suuco flips to the next page.

<><><><><><><><><><>

[Skill Levels and Ranks]

As you use a Skill, the Skill Exp will increase. With enough Exp, the skill Levels Up.

Now, after a Skill reaches Level 10, you can Rank Up the Skill to a Rank Higher.

An F-Rank Skill would become E-Rank.

After a Rank Up, the Skill would revert to Level 1. Leveling would be 10% Harder every Rank Up.

<><><><><><><><><><>

Suuco Sighs with relief from knowing that his F-Rank Skills are not low rarity, but just low ranked. He continues to read.

<><><><><><><><><><>

When a Skill Ranks Up, One, or even Both of 2 things can happen.

1. The MP/SP Consumption may decrease by 1 or more.

2. The Effectiveness of a Skill can increase. For Example, +10% Agi would become +15% Agi after leveling up.

<><><><><><><><><><>

Closing the book, the Book disappears and another popup appears.

<If the Guide is Needed, access through the Menu, or say "SMO Guide">

After confirming everything that he has done, he finally presses the big [Start] button in the middle if the room.

"Here we go."

The World goes White.

I did it. I made another Chapter.

\(-v-)/

I changed my mind on the whole "Once a Week" type deal that I was gonna do.

It only takes a few hours to make a Chapter, but it took FOREVER.

Anyways, I'm thinking of maybe releasing Chapters once a day. Maybe Twice, or maybe not at all.

Again, I am only a Novice, but I still like what I'm doing.

I once again thank you for reading this, and hope that you like my work.

Until Next Time, or when I make a new Chapter or whatever.
