Act 2-5 Aquatic Ruins

Tom gave the money to the one in charge of the motorbike rental service, and got on top of a bike. He looked in the horizon as he said:

Tom: "I'm coming, Sonic."

We cut back to the ruins in the small forest, next to the shore. Robotnik complains.

Robotnik: "Hey, you may be their leader, but that doesn't mean you can slack off, only I can slack off.", Robotnik is in his natural pissed off state.

Knuckles slowly got up as he began scratching his eyes.

Knuckles: "That fox's tails hit me right in the eye."

Robotnik: "With how big your eyes are, I don't think that's very surprising. That blue spiked bastard destroyed my emerald sensor. Do you know any way to find the emeralds?"

Knuckles: "I can look around."

Robotnik: "Why can't you pests ever make yourselves useful? No wonder you never found more than an emerald before I came. Then do you know what you should be doing?", Knuckles puts his hand against his chin, clueless, Robotnik grunts loudly. "Find that damned hedgehog."

Sonic is seen looking over the debris. Tails also pokes his head to watch.

Tails: "Shouldn't we hide someplace further away?", A wasp robot passes by, as Sonic jumps at it, and destroys it. Some echidnas hurry to the spot, as he and Tails run towards the back of another destroyed building, too fast for any of them to know where exactly they went. Sonic answers:

Sonic: "And miss out on all the fun? Huh...", Sonic looks to the robot he destroyed. Amongst the wreckage a wasp comes out, finally free from the metalic clutches. Sonic asks: "Is that?"

Tails: "A wasp from Mobius. Robotnik must be using the small energy from the creatures of Mobius to power his creations."

Sonic: "He just keeps getting worse, doesn't he?", Sonic notices Knuckles heading their way. "Heh, looks like that knucklehead is coming our way."

Tails: "We should move."

Sonic: "I have a more fun idea."

Knuckles walks around searching up everywhere as he seems to be complaining about Robotnik through mumbles. He walks past the debris, and looks to the side. Sonic is there lying down on his back, with his head against the wall, playing with his purple emerlad. Knuckles looks away, not initially realising he had seen Sonic before turning his head again. However Sonic is no longer there. He searches up the debris, before noticing a pair of tails behind a tree in the forest. He runs towards it, but once he grabs them, he realizes they were just a couple of large yellow leaves. Sonic appears from behind a tree, telling him:

Sonic: "It seems you're lost. Don't worry, I also forgot my map."

Knuckles: "Get back here!", Knuckles runs towards Sonic, as the hedgehog goes up the tree.

Sonic: "You know, I've been wondering. A tribal leader teaming up with a tech doctor... There's some irony there somewhere.", Knuckles climbs up the tree. Sonic jumps away and falls swiftly on the ground. "He probably stumbled upon your land, talked big and got you to follow his every whim. For such an imposing looking knuckle head, I'm surprised he did so, so easily."

Knuckles: "Shut up!", Knuckles jumped towards Sonic to punch him. The hedgehog took a couple steps back, and as the echidna failed to hit him, he fell on the trap. Tails pushed a rope made of grass from behind a tree, and Knuckles saw his foot entangled as he was upside down. He tried punching the air to get out, to no avail. Sonic proceeded.

Sonic: "What I'm getting at here, knuckle head, is that teaming up with that evil Robotnik is a recipe for disaster. I know what he's been doing in Mobius, and there's no excuse for it."

Knuckles: "He said the chemical plant is needed to get the emeralds."

Sonic: "Chemical plant? What has he been doing in Mobius?"

Knuckles: "You just said he knew what he was doing."

Sonic: "I know he's been turning animals into robots. You're telling me he created a chemical plant to do so? That's madness."

Knuckles: "He's helping us turn it into the sky island it originally was. I don't care what he's doing to the land, as long as the island comes back to its past glory it will all be fine."

Sonic: "He will stab you in the back once he gets his chance. He's only doing this for himself, don't you get it?"

Knuckles: "Get me out of here!"

Knuckles squirmed to try and rid himself of the improvised rope. It began tearing away, as he eventually dropped. Once he landed, Knuckles moved towards the tree:

Sonic: "Tails!"

Knuckles tried to punch the yellow fox, but Tails successfully jumped over him and joined with Sonic.

Meanwhile Robotnik was losing his patience.

Robotnik: "If you ant eaters haven't found the emerald, then I guess it's not visible. I'll just do what I should've done from the beggining. Let's blow this place down!"

Robotnik slammed on a big red button as several missile launchers appeared from his ship. They all launched their ammo, destroying the ground. On one side several boulders began falling towards the shoreline, on the other, Sonic and Tails ran from Knuckles from within the forest. Sonic was looking back at Knuckles, so he tripped on the new cracks in the floor. He began rolling on the ground, before Tails picked him up and flew up. Robotnik shouted angrily while aiming at them:

Robotnik: "There they are! Get them!", Robotnik looked down to see only two of his badniks fly off. "What happened to all the others?"

Arrows and laserbeams shot out towards Sonic, as Tails tried to avoid them all. Although the arrows seemed simple to dodge, the badniks seemed to be able to keep up with Tails' flying speed. They charged right at them. Sonic let go off Tails' hands and homed himself towards the flying badniks, destroying both with precise strikes. Tails caught him again.

Tails: "We need to get out of here. We already have one emerald. It should be fine as long as he doesn't get all seven. We should flee."

Sonic looked underneath him noticing a faint blue shine inbetween the rubble.

Sonic: "There it is!", Sonic let go of Tails' hand and fell towards the emerald.

Tails: "Sonic!"

Sonic dived down and has he landed, he began jumping from one falling boulder to the next. He hopped around before finally getting in range of the emerald, however...

Tails: "Sonic!"

Tails jumped at Sonic before he could catch the emerald, saving Sonic from Knuckles' fist. Sonic almost fell towards the sea from the push, just barely making it on top of a barely stable rock. He saw Tails knocked out on the ground, as Knuckles grabbed the emerald. Robotnik in his flying pod approached the echidna taking the emerald from his hands while the echidnas tied Tails to chains attached to Robotnik's ship

Sonic: "Get off of him.", Sonic ran towards Tails, however Robotnik's ship was just as fast as him, and got in the way.

Robotnik: "Nah na na.", He said while moving his finger side to side. "If you want to keep your life and your friend , then you're going to have to give me the emerald."

Sonic looked at the purple emerald in his hand, unsure of what to do.

Robotnik: "That's right, the one in your hand. Come on."

Sonic: "What are you planning, Eggman?"

Robotnik: "I'm just going to make your home zone float, just like these echidnas want. Nothing else."

Sonic reluctantly hands over the emerald, as a robotic hand coming off the ship grabs it.

Robotnik: "And then make it sink back underwater like you! Bye Sonic!", Robotnik shoots a missile from his ship, breaking the rock undernearh Sonic's feet. He tries to run up through some rocks, however they're too small, and he ends up falling on the sea.

Robotnik: "Ah ah ah cough... Ah, man all that nature air in Mobius really got in my lungs. That won't be a problem with all the toxic waste though, ah ah."

Robotnik laughed maniacally. Knuckles was distressed.

Knuckles: "What do you mean, make it sink?"

Robotnik: "Just what it seems. I don't need you useless anteaters any more. Feel free to live your lives as you please. You are all dismissed."

Robotnik flew away with Tails hanging from his ship, however Kncukles wasn't going to let him. He jumped on his ship, and began punching it. They started spiraling out of control.

Robotnik: "You bastard! Get off my ship!",

Robotnik grabbed his selfmade ring telling it. "Mobius" and throwing it. A portal opened and he got through, activating super speed and blasting away through it. Knuckles wasn't able to hold on and was left behind, as the portal closed, however it seems like unlike Sonic's rings, Robotnik's didn't disappear, and simply reverted into its original small state.

Sonic crashed against the water as he felt air leaving him. He hit the sea floor and tried to run out of there, unfortunately he was barely able to move, and since he couldn't swim he felt stuck. The usual frenetic water drowning music from the games begins playing as Sonic is losing his air.

Sonic: "Why aren't there any air bubbles? I thought there were air bubbles."

His eyes begin to close. He sees above him someone who jumped into the water, however Sonic loses consciousness before knowing who it is. Tom was the one who jumped. He holds Sonic in his arm as he swims to the nearest beach. He gets Sonic off water and tries to catch his breath. He begins doing CPR on Sonic, and tries to hear his heartbeat. He grabs his phone from his pocket, and hurriedly calls his wife.

Tom: "Honey, you need to come here."

Wife: "What happened? Where are you?"

Tom: "I'm by a natural reserve, near the beach."

Wife: "Is everything alright? Did you find Sonic?"

Tom: "I did but... I can't hear his heartbeat."
