that is a fuck up way to die

the next day Beau went to his work which is as Administration of Cleaning (Janitor) at Sparta High School. he has the job thanks to a friend from College who is now a teacher. if you asked if it is humiliating? like hell it is. if you asked if the kids make fun of him? those bastards do.

but he doesn't care, because he has a a game awaiting for him back at his home. and a crush, also he has become friends with one of the kids. is a weak reserved boy to whom others always make fun of and they bullied him.

Beau knows about the bullying, but he has always ignored that because he is not responsible for other lives. also he thinks it is that kid's responsibility to defend himself from the bullies. however his friend Hunter Jackson; he is the teacher of art and he is known in the school as the most handsome teacher.

Hunter is not just all good looks. he is also a good teacher who looks out for the safety and the education of his students. so when he learns that a student has any problems in their homes or on school he does the impossible to help them.

because of those selfless acts the students even called him the Hero Teacher. for his determination for seen his students smiling. Beau is thankful to his friend. but at the same time he is bitter.

because his friend is better looking. his friend has a better job and is loved for his charisma, a thing that Beau doesn't have and the thing that he wishes to have more than anything. even if it could be at least a drop of charisma.

at the end of the day Beau was back at his home. he was so tired that he didn't wanted to know anything more about the world, but also he wanted play for at least just a moment. Beau eats some chicken wings and then he sends some messages to his gaming pals.

Beau logs in. the day before he did a few small quest that were part of chapter 0. which means that everything that he did was in order to get some coins, so when chapter 1 begins he can have enough money to buy weapons to defend himself. he finish every quest from chapter 0 yesterday. so today begins the real thing with chapter 1.

Beau is standing on the streets of Los Angeles. the earth starts to shake and he hears a voice saying "welcome to Chapter 1 Mortals are you ready for the Offerings." a portal is opened on the sky and demonic creatures, demonic zombies and phantoms are getting out of the portal.

Beau enters on a gun shop that was at his right. in there he purchases a revolver, two shotguns, some grenades and smoke grenades that he might need. when Beau gets out of the gun shop. at least twenty guys get inside of the gun shop. Beau is walking on the streets alone shooting at the monsters that are level 1 or 2 while he hides from the stronger monsters.

after a while Beau is walking on the streets. he looks at a huge monster which looks like a huge demonic dog with three heads. he doesn't need to read the title of the monster to know what the hell that thing is. he sees that the Cerberus is level 62. he runs like there is no tomorrow.

he only hears how the idiots who tried to fight it are being crush into pieces. Beau laughs because he knows it is just a game, but it is really interesting how he can feel fear even in a game.

while running he falls on the ground and "Pandora's box" falls out of his pockets. Beau tries to take it. but it opens with a bright light. he sees a screen in front of him with a message "The Curse of Zeus' Offerings is Activated." he didn't know what was going to happen, but he knew deep inside of him that he was fucked.

at the same time that "Pandora's box" was opened, on the real world someone tried to rob Beau's neighbor and they by accident set fire on the house. the fire was so terrifying that it spread on the whole neighborhood.

but none of the neighbors cared for Beau nor even tried to make sure if he was okay. Beau had such a complicated personality that the neighbors didn't cared if he died or not. everyone hated him, except for Hunter.

far from there; Hunter was on his way to Beau's house. because he wanted to ask his friend for a romantic advise. at that moment Hunter received a message from a student. he never reads the message that the students send him, but this time it was different.

when he reads it, he could tell that the student was about to commit suicide. then he looks up at the fire that was coming from Beau's neighborhood. Hunter saw himself in a complicated situation in which two people might need of him, but he could only do something for one of them.

a man wearing a neon black cloak walks in front of him. that person was carrying an umbrella with his right hand while he was holding a book with his left hand. he had a dark green hat and a veil covering his face.

it was hard to see his face, but Hunter could notice that he was wearing white powder drawing a skull on his face. this strange man blow to the book moving the pages of the book. then he look directly at Hunter in the eyes, with his jade eyes.

"I had been watching you closely and I had admire your tenacity and your bravery which are beyond any other human that I had seen in my journey.... I propose to you a deal..... but first let me tell you that on my book is written that today two men important to you would die..."

the strange man takes a break to drink water.

"...I would allow you to saved either Beau, your friend from college who is about to be burn alive while connected to a portal. or Stewart, the kid in your class who you had watch being bullied and mistreated by his classmates. and who always goes home to his mother who has never cared for anything more than the poison that she swallows..."

the strange man takes another break as he drinks more water.

".....a kid that you had tried to protect and help more than once, he who is about to take his life on the school. or your friend, a man who has nothing nor cares for nothing in life, the choice is yours to make. but make it pronto, we are running out of time."

said the strange man.

"I want to know two things. who are you? and why are you forcing me to choose?"

asked Hunter scared.

"I am the Ferryman. I am not making this deal for nothing, if you save one of them. then I would take your rare soul to be part of my special collection. you would die sooner once you had erased either name from my book."

said the Ferryman.

Hunter runs back to the school as he calls nine-one-one to tell them about his friend. who was about to die burned alive on his own house. Hunter runs like there is no tomorrow until he is finally in front of the school.

he looks at a silhouette on the roof of the school. Hunter enters inside of the school. he uses the stairs. he tries to distract Stewart by sending him messages. after being running and praying he is finally on the roof of the school. he looks at Stewart with teary eyes thinking about jumping or not. Hunter runs towards Stewart. he pulls him to safety.

"don't ever try anything like that ever again. if you need of any help then tell me and I would help you."

said Hunter with honesty.

Hunter notice the Ferryman, it is floating far from the building looking directly at his eyes. he understands the meaning of that. that means two things; first Beau is probably dead already. second his time is coming soon.

the next day; Hunter was drinking coffee and eating bread for breakfast. he heard the news on the TV about Beau's horrible death. Hunter was the only real friend Beau had and Beau was Hunter's best friend. Hunter felt regret for not being a good friend. for not being there for his friend when he needed of his help the most.

inside of the game: Beau is sleeping on the floor and he wakes up to see that there is someone in front of him. that person is Joaquin Fernandez a NPC. Beau stands up and he at first doesn't know what to say nor do, he haven't been able to log out since last night and he is afraid of losing his job.

"are you stuck in the game? it seems like you are an Offering."

said Joaquin looking at him worry.

"yes I can't get out and what the hell does the word Offering means?"

asked Beau furious.

"that means that you can't escape from this world. you are going to be stuck in this world until you finish the game or die but if you die in the game you would become a NPC just like me."

said Joaquin feeling sorry for him.

"what do you mean? I don't understand what is going on."

said Beau confused.

"well to put it simple the moment you opened Pandora's box this was no longer a game and it become real to you. the only way you can go back to the real world is by winning the game. only those who received the title Offering are swallow by the game..."

said Joaquin in all seriousness.

he takes a break before speaking again.

"...all games created by Son Of Sun are traps to captured the souls of those who are marked as Offerings. it doesn't matter which game you play, once you are marked sooner or later you would be swallow by the game. the only way out is by winning the game. if you are curious to know why I know so much, is because I used to be a player until I died."

said Joaquin feeling pain.

"so if I die, I will become like you, a freaking NPC? fuck once I am out, I will kill every bastard who works for the company Son of Sun. by the way I am glad that I choose the zombie game with Greek mythology instead of the H.P. game. on that one I would be so fucking dead by now or I would be swallow my madness. I mean who could even survived the first chapter with Demonic Gods. do I have to kill Hades?"

said Beau.

"I don't know how to kill a deity but I know how you can survived to one."

said Joaquin smiling.

Beau follows Joaquin even knowing that it could be a trap or that maybe this NPC might be an error on the system of the game. but there was no other choice to take. some zombies walked towards them. Beau knows that he should save his bullets for a situation in which he could truly be in danger.

he takes an iron bar. with it he kills the zombies winning five points of experience and he even get a map. Beau was thinking about his gamer friends. he was worried thinking if one of them was also stuck in one of these games or worse. about to die. then who can help him to get out of this place?

"Sir, Lord Golden Ass."

said someone.

Beau turns around to see Joaquin with another two NPC who seem to be angry at Joaquin for helping Beau. after a long argument in between the individuals Beau was finally able to present himself.

he heard the names of the other two. Marisol Montes de Leon and Julio Mendoza, but unlike Joaquin they were originally part of the game created by the game. while Joaquin used to be a human of flesh and bones.
