Some Fine Day

This is the story of how Emery Walters became whom he was supposed to be.<br><br>I knew I was male at an early age, something that was a societal no-no in the 1950s and still is in parts of the country today. Burying my male identity, I strove to be the best woman possible. But after raising my four wonderful children from two debilitating marriages, I found myself alone and nearly penniless. That was when Emery asserted his identity.<br><br>Life became better with the shift from female to male, a third marriage, and a wife who, herself, transitioned from male to female.

Chapter 101

I spoke to one of mine recently on the phone about another matter. I told her she was probably still a lot cuter at her (advancing) age than I am. She said, “That was your choice.” Well it’s more to do with aging and some health issues and I was trying to be nice and show love, but that’s what I got. I added, ‘I decided you’d all be better off with a weird relative than a dead one,’ but it didn’t sink in. Apparently, it never has. Maybe we could look up ‘choice’ in the dictionary, and see a picture of a trans person with a gun on one side, and a therapist and surgeon on the other, with family all running away screaming.
