chapter 3

Chapter: 3

A week later

It's been a week since I accidentally walked into a dungeon and gained my system and powers and during that week time I found out two things. One: I don't need to level up to raise my stats. More specifically I can say exercise raises strength, agility, and vitality and anything I do in relation to mana raises Intelligence but also raises MP. I figured it out when I was doing physical Education at school after doing say 30 of pretty much anything raised strength and vitality by 1 . Running 20km raises speed by 1. As for Intelligence any mana-related skill would work but the one that works the best is mana manipulation for obvious reasons and sense goes up naturally.

During this time I started doing nothing but non-stop training and exercise so much so that my stats look like this

"Status."

With my stats like this, I am confident that I can take down C-ranked Hunters by myself and also during the week I have also been doing some research on a topic I was really hoping to be right and that would be If people can become Hunters under aliases. And well the answer was indeed yes however there are conditions that need to be met. But the most important condition for me is the age rule that says only people under the age of 18 to enter under an alias but once you become 18 you would have to reveal your real name to the Hunter's Association.

Thus the reason why I'm standing outside the Hunter's Association building today. My current attire isn't anything special, just an all-black turtleneck, black pants, a black coat, and a black mask covering my face strapped to my hip. It was an improved katana that I created recently. From the handle to the sheath was pitch black and the guard was a ten-pointed star. All of which was made by me with creation. This isn't going to be my permanent attire as Hunter but it will be the one I wear for now.

Outside of the Hunter Association building were multiple people who had just gotten their ranks, some looked happy with themselves and some were depressed, most likely getting a low rank. Walking into the building and seeing some people sitting and waiting most likely to get their ranks checked

I went up to the receptionist and said good morning as I did so.

"Good day to you as well. May I ask the reason for being here today?" she must have been assuming that I was a Hunter coming for business.

"I was hoping to register as a Hunter under an alias."

"You're not a Hunter?" She asked surprised

"No ma'am," I said, shaking my head.

"Hmm I see, can you give me a second?"

"Of course."

The receptionist got up and walked into the room behind her. After a minute or so she walked out of the room with a form in her hand taking back her seat. She spoke while handing me the form and a pen.

"It's quite rare to see someone becoming a Hunter under an alias."

"So it doesn't happen often but it does happen?"

"Yes."

"So all I have to do is fill out the form and return it to you, yes?"

"That's correct."

"OK, thanks," I said with a smile behind my mask.

Turning around I walked over to an empty seat and sat down. Writing up the form didn't take long seeing as they didn't ask many questions. The only really important ones were my age and my alias name. Returning the form to the receptionist she handed me a paper with a number on it.

"Please wait until your number is called."

"Understood."

Walking back to my seat I sat down and waited. After around thirty minutes my number was finally called. I got up and walked over to the receptionist and she led me into a large room in the center of the room was a machine with an orb on top.

"Place your hand on the orb and course your mana through it."

Nodding at the simple explanation I walked over to the machine placed my hand on the orb and silently started to channel my mana into it. The orb started to shimmer white. After a minute I took my hand off the orb. A minute or so later a man walked into the room with a paper and card in his hand. He handed the paper and card to me looking at both the paper and the card they revealed my alias and my rank.

"B-ranked huh ok," I said with a nod.

"It will be a pleasure to be working with you, Void."

"Indeed."

The man escorted me out of the room back to the reception area and he turned and walked away. Nodding my thanks to the man and the receptionist I made my way out the building.

That was faster than anticipated and that orb they use to gauge mana I could have tricked it with mana manipulation by pulling mana from the air and flowing it into the orb but that's not wise.

But all in all, today was a good day. Should I join a dungeon raid today It would get me up some levels so it should be worth it.

After coming to my decision I pulled out my phone and went online to see if there was a raid party that needed one more member. After ten minutes of searching, I found one. It was a B-ranked dungeon not too far away from here which was perfect for me and they only needed one more member.

Sending a message to the raiding party through the site. I went to the area where the dungeon gate was. The trip took me around ten minutes to get there. When I arrived I saw a party of 6 waiting outside of the dungeon gate. The gate was a massive blue swirling portal.

That's a whole lot of energy for one portal.

"Hey, are you the last member?"

I heard someone call out to me Turning to see who called out to me. It was a woman with lustrous black hair cascading down her back, framing her delicate features and warm brown eyes, she stood tall in a sleek black dress that accentuated her slender figure. Clutched in her hand is a finely crafted staff.

Oh, a mage.

"Yes, I am. Name's Void it's a pleasure to meet you," I replied, approaching the group."

The woman nodded at my introduction.

"My name is Kim Ji-Woo I'm the Healer it's meet you as well come let me introduce you to the rest of the party."

Nodding in appreciation as she leads me over to a group over to a group of 5. There were three males and two females.

"Allow me to introduce them."

She pointed at a man with an imposing stature, tousled dark hair, and piercing gaze. His muscular frame is clad in durable leather armor.

"This is Choi Min-Ho he is the archer of the group he's C-ranked."

She then pointed at a woman with fiery red hair tied back in a practical ponytail, She wears lightweight yet sturdy armor, designed for swift movement in combat. Strapped to her back is a pair of sleek twin daggers.

"This is Lee Hye-Jin she is our assassin she's C-ranked."

She then pointed at a man with a rugged appearance he had short, tousled hair and a rugged beard frame a weathered face that bore the scars of countless battles. Dressed in earth-toned clothing that blends seamlessly with his surroundings, he carries a hefty axe with ease.

"This is Park Seo-Joon he's our Warrior he's B-ranked."

She pointed to the last woman of the group. She has a lithe frame. She has long blonde hair cascading down her back like a shimmering waterfall. Dressed in sleek iron armor adorned with intricate designs. Strapped on her hip was a pair of slender swords.

"This is Song Mi-Young she is our Swordsman she's B-ranked."

She then pointed to the last male of the group. He has an imposing figure with his towering height and broad shoulders framed by a mane of unkempt brown hair. Clad in heavy armor, he wields a massive sword with ease.

"This is Yoon Soo-Hyun he's our tank he's B-ranked."

"Guys this is Void he will be our Mage for this raid."

"It's a pleasure to meet you," I said with a bow.

As the introductions concluded, each member of the party greeted me in turn, some with nods, others with smiles hidden beneath helmets or masks.

"Alright, people we have wasted enough time let's go," Seo-Joon said

Everyone nodded at the statement and got ready to enter the dungeon. About five minutes later everyone walked into the gate on the other side of the gate was a large cave with a mana crystal on the walls and the ground. In front of us, the cave had a large opening emerging from the darkness of the opening were ten wolf-like creatures that stood on their hind legs with red fur each holding a club.

"Werewolves alright people get ready! Mage!" Seo-Joon started giving orders.

Not needing to be told twice I activated Shadowflare and black lightning sparked to life on the palm of my hands. Firing a bolt of black lightning at the group of werewolves the second the lightning struck one of the werewolves it exploded in a wave of black flames catching the rest of the werewolves around the one that was struck and killing them.

[Level up.]

[level up.]

[level up.]

Huh, it did improve better than I thought.

Looking at the party I stated.

"Shall we continue?"
