Inverted Desert

"Which path do we take." Neko asked "Any of them if we keep on randomly choosing we will get the right one eventually." Grimm replied

"shouldn't we be careful I mean doesn't each path lead to a different space so it can be anything from oceans to nothing," Tony replied nervously.

"Small details that's a problem for later. Let's go that way." Grimm said pointing at a random tunnel in the cave. "All agreed let's go."

They walked down the path and everything suddenly became bright and their surroundings had changed into a desert but the ground was upside down so we're they. there was sand in all directions, some cactus too. There were spires of sand going to the sky which had become the ground and pyramids that looked as if they had been built on the heavens themselves with the tops of the pyramids touching the ground. There was even a sphinx in the dessert.

"Where are we?" Neko questioned "I don't know. But did you have to ask a question that no one knew the answer to.." Grimm replied, "there must be a way out somewhere in here." Neko said

Grimm was not listening to what she said he was starting at a cactus "this cactus looks strange." "It must be nothing because that is an ordinary cactus." Tony said, "Guess it's nothing." "I think we should check out one of the pyramids first." Neko said

The three of them walked a few miles toward a Pyramid and saw an entrance at the tip of the pyramid.

"We probably get clues on how to leave inside there." Tony said

They walked on inside it was a small room with a giant spiral staircase leading to the upper floors with ancient writings on the wall some parts had scratch marks on them. One that was the most peculiar was one with a beast that had the head of a man, the body of a lion, a scorpion tail and giant wings. The three of them did not bother to look at the writings since they wouldn't be able to understand and headed up to the next floor which was a bigger room it looked as if it was the rest of the pyramid it was hollow it had high ceilings and was very dark except for some two giant openings. There were also some ancient structures that you would probably see in ancient Greece or Rome. There were even dusty things laying around in the roads and once the things got closer to the edge of the pyramid they were higher elevated. There were no living beings to be found it was like a ghost town.

"Where did everyone go." Tony said "Somewhere." Neko said, "How about we ask them." Grimm said what he was referring to was a massive swarm of creatures flying toward them they looked angry. "Those are manticores. They are legendary creators why are there so many. They are also very dangerous we should probably run." Neko said as she started moving toward the giant opening so did Tony. "I guess I should follow them," Grimm said to himself. They ran towards the opening as they got closer they were getting further away from most of the manticores only a few could keep up. The three of them jumped outside the pyramid and landed on the sandy ground the manticores still followed.

"I am getting bored of this. Grimm said and he cast a spell which caused the sand in all directions to move to one place. One could say the whole desert itself moved. It formed into a giant sand golem that was so tall its head went past the clouds. The whole dessert by this point was a stone wasteland because of the lack of sand.

"Attack," Grimm said and the golem moved and crushed the pyramid and all the manticores along with it. "That's how you solve a problem."

"How are we supposed to find the exit if you shifted the landscape," Tony said. "Oh that it was right behind the cactus I marked the location of it with magic." Grimm said

"If you knew where the exit was why didn't you say anything." "Three reasons first you said it must be nothing, second it was funny, third you never asked."

The three of them head back to the cactus's previous location and saw space being distorted. "This is the way back to the cave it emits the mana of the cave," Grimm said, "are you sure," Neko said "I am sure it leads back to the cave but not where in the cave it leads too."

The three of theM entered the distortion and found themselves back in the cave at the part where all the paths are located. "We are right back where we started looks like we now know one of the paths not to take. So which one are we going down next." Grimm said

"Definitely not that one that leads to the desert." Tony joked.
