The Twins Bound

With my new drinking buddy passed out, the hours pass by calmly. The screams have long died, since the mobs of weaklings have easily been dispatched.

"Would all surviving participants make their way towards the "Divines' Worthy" arena? Failure to make it within 2 hours will be counted as a forfeit." The wrestling announcer voice announces.

'Better get going.' I think to myself as I try to wake up Uzarai. I start gently, however seeing no response I decided to use some more "forceful" methods. Soft shaking becomes increasingly violent as I even hit him in an attempt to wake him up. Getting slightly worried, I check his pulse. He's alive, to honestly my surprise, as this dude simply doesn't wake up.

"WAKE UP!!" I yell at the loudest decibels I can produce.

No reaction.

'Should I leave him? He's a competitor, after all.' I think, making my way as I walk away.

"…."

Before I return, forced by the thing called a guilty conscience.

'I literally just killed 60plus people, but I can't leave behind some drunkard.' I curse myself mentally as I drag him towards the arena.

***

I easily arrive at the arena as people have stopped fighting each other. Everyone seems to size each other up and down. A few frowns are raised as they see me drag a "lifeless" body.

"Ladies and gentlemen, here they are! These will challenge to get Luciel's blessing! Will any of them be worthy of our goddess's will?! Who will survive and who will die like the weak dog they are!" The announcer yells to get the public hyped.

It worked, as cheers and screams could be heard throughout the entire city.

'This is a bigger deal than I actually thought it was.' I start to realize. It even managed to wake Uzarai which is probably the most impressive feat possible. He looks confused, and it seems that he's suffering from a terrible headache.

"What are you doing?" A woman yells in our direction.

'I don't think it's aimed at me.' I think to myself, not recognizing the voice.

To my surprise, the woman is clearly walking in our direction. The woman has black eyes and black hair that she wears in a ponytail, with the same red markings on her face as Uzarai. The eyes give me a familiar feeling of being swallowed as I quickly connect the dots. I look to my left to find Uzarai, and he looks absolutely frightened.

"I made it, dear sister." He says in his most innocent voice, trying those abysmal puppy eyes again.

"You were knocked out, got your ass dragged here! What happened? Were you defeated? Why is this man carrying you here!" She yells in a fit of rage, seeing her brother have to get dragged in the arena. However, it also seems that she cares as she's checking him for any injuries.

"Well, it just you know, things happen." He says in a way that makes him look like a kid trying to hide the fact he ate the last bit of cake.

"Uzarai, my blood, what happened?" She asks, calmed down and seemingly determined to get an honest answer.

"Uzalla, my blood, I…I got drunk." He answers honestly and embarrassed.

'Well, I guess it doesn't matter how you make it, as long as you make it alive.' I tell myself mentally.

*WHAM*

The woman called Uzalla strikes Uzarai as he gets knocked out. His head snapping with such a force you can hear the bones of his neck nearly break.

'….'

'Well, at least he got here alive. A shame that it didn't last long.' I say mentally as Uzarai should be dead after such a hard hit.

"I should thank you for taking care of my brother." The woman named Uzalla says to me as she turns to face me. The woman carries a great sword and seems to be wearing the same armor as her brother. Her physique on the other hand resembles that of a knight way more compared to her recently killed brother.

"It's nothing, he was quite nice to be around. I'll miss him." I say while wiping a tear from my left eye. A bit emotional at the sudden loss and the alcohol in my system.

"He'll be fine, he has survived worse." She says with a warm smile on her face, clearly amused with my emotional response.

'He has survived worse?' I think flabbergasted.

"Do not mingle with the vagabond, My lovely Uzalla." An uptight, sly voice calls out. Looking at the source of the voice, I can see some sort of humanoid serpent dressed like a pampered noble. Reptile yellow eyes and a scaled green face highlighting his reptile features.

"Of course, master." Uzalla says, as she's visibly disgusted by the reptile's presence.

"Take your useless brother to my estate, he should rest and be healed. Tomorrow is when the true test starts after all." He says in this "you're all my servants" voice.

Uzalla nods obediently in response, carrying the knocked out Uzarai like one would carry a sack of potatoes.

'He's the master.' I say to myself as I use appraise on him.

-Demonoid Serpent-

Name: Sai Su'ik

information:

[Slaver] [Hunter of the weak] [Lesser ritualistic knowledge] [Weaker arcane practitioner] [Mental modification]

'He really doesn't seem that strong.' I think to myself, not impressed by what I'm seeing. A sneer escaping my mouth seeing him act so high and mighty.

"You seem amused." The serpent demon says to me in an irritated tone. A frown is visible on his face as he looks at me as if I'm something disgusting.

"Well, one is supposed to be amused when they see a clown." I answer the insignificant creature who's getting way too big for his boots.

The serpent seems very offended as I see veins appear on his bald, scaly head.

"Just you wait, boy. When you face my slave, you will bite the dust." He says trying to threaten me.

"Why wait?" I ask, showing my killing intent towards the serpent. It seems he finally realized that none of his precious "slaves" are close by to protect him.

"Wait! Wait, let's not get hasty now!" He yells in a pathetic plea. A great sword suddenly comes in between us, Uzalla stands there in a protective stance for her master. It seems she sensed the trouble and rushed here.

"You're quite the lucky person." I say towards the slaver as I walk past him towards my companions.
