Tharnomath versus Ulthris (2)

The battle changed with every decision made. Now that Tharnomath has decided to fight against the brutal force of Ulthris, the battle will actually have a winner instead of an stalemate.

Tharnomath is however no fool, he has to utilize speed and magic in this battle. Using his pressure magic, he slowed down Ulthris movement. Afterward, he created icicle spears and threw them towards the large lava stone brute.

The lava stone orc's movement were successfully slowed down, and the attacks landed with the utmost precision. Aimed at some clear vital points, they were launched towards Ulthris's heart, neck, and head.

Ulthris did not bother to dodge this attack. It would only slow him down even more, and besides, he was experienced in combat himself.

The spears of ice shattered against the rushing lava stone orc's skin. Not even a small dent was made, making it clear that simply some basic magic would not cut it.

Ulthris's tactic hasn't changed. He simply wished to get into range and land a powerful hit. Causing the city to become a battlefield is an additional benefit.

The red lava stone orc's attacks are fueled by his rage and his vigor.

The orc's vigor is stimulated by just one mere thing. The imminent future of endless battle.

For the lava stone orc leader, the city of Lucille's Light had turned soft over the years. You could kill and duel as much as you like, if it wasn't in the market district anyway. But Ulthris Kaahen wanted more, the thrill of battle had long faded.

Only the weak and stupid did not immediately hide or flee from him. Actually finding a decent battle became a task that wasn't worth the risk.

He didn't have any hope for the future either. The influential figures in the city were content with the more peaceful direction it was creating for itself.

The church was always eager to contain the power of the demons. He did not exactly know why or how. But he instinctually knew that those weaklings were just cowards trying to protect their boneless resolve.

The Talvit brothers simply wished to continue their dominion of the city. They were strong, but their mentality was wrong. If you're strong, then you should fight every day. Just like himself, what's the point of strength if you don't battle?

Sorzana Soquil is a strange individual. Ulthris liked that she also wasn't against creating chaos. Their "chaos" were, however, essentially different. Her chaos was more manipulative, his was that of the chaos that a battlefield would have. Manipulation was for the weak, so Ulthris Kaahen opinion plummeted afterward. Besides, Sorzana and Ergillaz were a famous "couple" in Lucille's Light so she most likely would join the brothers with their goal.

Finally, you had the chimera demon named Volathriis. The beast that prowls around in the abandoned district. It does not have the intelligence to care about the city's future, it simply fought against those who came into the abandoned district and tried to kill chimera's. That is Volathriis his only goal, protecting Chimera's like himself. Ulthris had fought the beast on some occasions, Volathriis was stronger than Ulthris. He never could wound him fatally, however, and thus their battles continued. Ulthris liked Volathriis but gradually became aware that he would not stand against these changes of the city. Simply because it could not comprehend it.

Distraught, the lava stone leader drank away his worries. Trying to imagine a more exciting future.

Then one day a woman approached him. She was magically very strong and battled against Ulthris Kaahen.

Ulthris Kaahen was in a drunken state and his vigor was nonexistent. The strong but rather slow figure did not want to live in a future that he could not freely battle. Thus, his opponent, Anima, the wraith queen, easily defeated him.

Instead of killing him, however, she made a proposal. A proposal to create a future with endless battle and bloodshed. He simply had to follow her instructions.

Ulthris Kaahen of course followed her instructions, he wanted this new future to exist and simply did not see anyway to create it.

So why not follow her lead? Was she using him? Is he being lied to?

Those questions didn't even cross his mind. Why would he care anyway?

Following her orders, he made a deal with Ergillaz and with her help managed to break the contract.

Now her promise is being fulfilled, and the gigantic brute loved every second of it.

With this will and motivation, he fights against the younger Talvit brother. Every hit crushing the city that had gone towards the wrong direction.

"Come here, frost tyrant. Let me show you what real strength is!" Ulthris Kaahen yells still rushing towards Tharnomath.

Tharnomath noticed how Ulthris was more resilient towards magic attacks than he originally expected. Thus, he begins to combine his frost magic with his pressure magic. Creating An ice boulder, far more powerful but less precise than the spears.

It crashed against the lava stone leader, a frosty mist clouds the battle.

Tharnomath stands his ground, trying to figure out the condition of his opponent.

*THUD THUD THUD*

Tharnomath could however not stand his ground for long, the sound of the gigantic orc leader rushing him was clear.

Tharnomath decides to dodge sideways and use some building as cover. His six eyes don't leave the frosty mist as he prepares a spell to immediately hit Ulthris once he leaves the mist.

*BANG*

A loud, almost explosive sounding noise catches Tharnomath's attention. The house he was using as cover, Ulthris decide to simply run through.

Breaking the wall next to Tharnomath, he immediately swings his great war hammer, "Schweres Herz."

Tharnomath, who realized that he would not be able to simply dodge this attack. Casts frost armor on himself, bracing for impact.

A sound so loud that almost the entire city could hear it followed. It sounded like glass breaking or at least something that shattered, accompanied by the sounds of buildings collapsing.

Not many were sure what this sound precisely meant. Only that it had to be quite the destructive blow to make such a noise.
