"Even with all of what you have said, it won't be easy to make him come back. After all, he is a teenager and is in his rebellious stage," said the woman.
"It doesn't matter. I will make him come back no matter what."
At the same time this situation occurred, Ray was calmly sleeping in his bed, trying to get as much sleep as possible before morning came.
Waking up, Ray stood up from his bed, took a quick bath, and brushed his teeth. He walked towards his drawer and picked out a t-shirt, a hoodie, and black jeans with some Nike shoes to complement it. He always dressed in casual clothes, except when he went to meetings with his parents, which he no longer did due to his circumstances.
Even if his parents had told him to move out and all, he still loved them. After all, who didn't love their parents? When he was done dressing, he was expecting a knock on his door from his sister, but no sound greeted him.
"That's strange. She is usually already at my door before I'm done dressing," thought Ray.
He shrugged it off. After all, he couldn't expect her to come every day and wait for him to leave. She had her own life too, and he always felt guilty seeing her at his door when she could be walking with her friends.
He waited for a while, but when he didn't see her, he decided to lock his door and walk out of his place.
"Good morning, Miss Denvor."
"Hello Ray, you're off to school today?" replied the woman. She was a middle-aged woman with short hair and naturally colored brown eyes. She had wrinkles on her face, which showed the stress she went through every day.
"Yes, see you later, ma."
"Have a nice day in school then."
After he greeted Miss Denvor, he greeted the other tenants in the apartment that he saw. He left the apartment building shortly after.
He left the building and started making his way to his school. It was a bit lonely for him to walk to school by himself because usually, his walks to school were accompanied by his sister.
The walk to school was uneventful. He reached the school entrance where he saw his sister, and she had a troubled expression on her beautiful face.
He wanted to go and greet her until he noticed the person who was standing next to her. It was a man with a chocolate complexion and muscles that looked like they could lift a truck. The expression on his face was serious, making people think that he always looked like that.
He wasn't the only one there as three other men were standing beside her, all dressed in suits.
Noticing them, his eyebrows creased, and he started to frown seriously, wondering why they were there.
He tried to walk and avoid them, but it seemed like they were ready to pick a fight.
"Hello, young master. Long time no see," said the man with a bow.
"Hello Wills, how has the family been?"
"We are okay, but with you not around, the family has been going through some issues."
"Too bad. I don't think I will be returning anytime soon."
Wills was the head of security of his family, and he wasn't sure what his family was trying to do. This man should have been back at home patrolling the family house, not accompanying a high school girl to school.
He heeded Wills no attention and didn't look back.
"You may be like this, but you know the masters won't tolerate your actions, and you know what happens when they get angry."
Ray didn't look back but continued on his way. He sat on his chair and noticed Wills talking to his form teacher.
He wondered what it could be that they were talking about, but he didn't care enough to go and check.
When classes started, Wills could be seen standing next to his sister in class while the rest of the bodyguards stayed outside as if they were guarding the class.
It was pretty weird watching a grown man just standing in the middle of class doing nothing, but on second thought, was it actually that weird? After all, this was a school for the rich, and so many of them brought at least one bodyguard with them for protection.
All throughout the day, Wills stayed with his sister, so he couldn't find any chance at all to talk to her, and it seemed that Wills wasn't going to allow it either.
He went through the whole day without talking to his sister once, only having Alex to keep him company.
At the end of the day, a student came to call him about his form teacher looking for him.
When he came to class, he could see her having a serious look on her face as she watched him come in.
"Ray, why don't you sit down?"
"I wanted to talk to you today about the life you're living," she said.
"You left your home and your loving family just for a game."
"I know kids your age have plenty of dreams, but you must think about your choices first."
"I know you're pretty good at gaming and have won lots of awards too, but that doesn't mean you can make a living out of it. After all, only the very best actually get money from it."
She then continued.
"I'm just talking to you today because I don't want you to waste your life. You have a bright future ahead of you; don't waste it."
"I am deeply touched that you showed great compassion for my case, but ma, don't worry, I know what I am doing."
"And I'm not just doing this on a whim. I really do love games; they are exciting, and it feels better doing it than staying in a boring office all day."
His teacher was shocked. Wills had told her to try and beg the young man to come back to his family, that he was only going through his rebellious phase, but what she could see were eyes filled with determination.
"I hope you know what you're doing and you're not going to regret this later."
"Yes, ma, I'm perfectly sure."
He left school and walked back home. Due to the talk he had with his teacher, Alex had already left the school.
He walked back home, made lunch, took a bath, and went to sleep. He woke up later in the night to play the game. He felt like he was already getting used to playing at night.
"I might just become a night crawler," he joked to himself.
He carried the helmet and put it on top of his head. He wasn't doing it for fun anymore; he was doing it to prove to everyone that what he was doing was not a mistake.
