It’s happening

I stood there thinking at what I was about do to. I faked my age to join the US Military in hopes of finding my brother who I am not even sure is alive. What was I thinking!?

We looked at each other one final time. We never knew this moment would actually come well not like this. The commander yelled one last time and a second later the sky looked as if it was swarming with bees. I looked down to see machine guns perfectly lined up and soon enough I realized why. All around me one by one people we're falling to their fateful death. I looked around me trying to spot my friend Marcus, but I couldn't. Too much people. The blue ocean slowly turned red, darker and darker. I took one last look at plane B-36 and surveyed the beach looking for a good place to land.

I decided to aim for the water where there would be at least a little shelter from the machine guns. As I reached the red water the gun shots got louder and louder. When I finally reached the water I could feel the dead bodies beneath me. Without time to think I knew what I had to do. I was going to take over one of the machine guns and act like a nazi. But that was not going to be easy. First I have to make my way across a valley of death.

I have heard stories about situations like this in the past, but never would it have come to my mind that anything like this would happen to me. I remembered my mom warning me before I came here. She warned me about the dangers. But even with that she told me she believes in me and that I would be fine. But the way she said it told me otherwise. I knew that she did not believe her own words and that It would be luck if I came out alive.

I looked behind me and watched as the American warships made their way to the beach, the waves viciously pushing the soldiers to shore. I could see the fear in everyone's eye. I stayed underwater only coming up to take my breath. But I could not do that for long I knew I had to reach that Machine gun no matter what.

Behind the machine guns there was about twenty mortars lined up each aiming in different directions. At this point I was not able to see any more sand, the beach was now flooded with bodies. I made a run for the beach, went on the ground and covered myself with two bodies acting dead. My heart was beating faster than the guns going off. I couldn't help but think of Marcus WAS HE DEAD OR ALIVE. My mind raced with a million ideas.

I slowly crawled across the sand trying to blend in as much as possible. And then I remembered something. Land Mines.
