Apprehensive

Marino clutched the dated note he found in Ari's pocket earlier that day. He was pretty sure that this was the time that she was supposed to meet with an affiliate from the rebel army. Marino had been sure to replace the note with one of his own.

Now was the time to see where Ari's loyalty truly lay; would she choose him over the rebel army? He still had a few minutes to clear his own muddled thoughts before he faced reality. What would he do if she chose the rebel army over him?

He had made it pretty clear from the very first incident when the rebel army tried to kidnap Ari for their own nefarious purposes that he did not approve of her getting involved with them. Why wouldn't she tell him what they had as leverage against her?

How was their marriage supposed to work going forward if they kept secrets from each other. Starting today things were going to change for them and hopefully for better. He sat down on a bench facing the cliff which gave him a lovely view of the sea.
