"The kids are forced to do slavery? What else could be worse than that? The interest charged on loans was thrice the principal while the amount taken had no records and the people are not educated enough to calculate it by themselves!'' I replied in a cold tone and his face turned red again. He bowed down and shook his head.
"But.. all my life, i had done nothing but charity. After my wife and son left me, i had no will to live. I was only living so that i could serve my estate and its people. If i had failed that badly, then i had no right to live. You can give me death punishment, my lady. I will accept it gladly." he replied with a bitter smile as a defeated look filled his face.
I sighed, I did not want to be harsh! But I was agitated at his carelessness. But there are very few who are still serving the empire selflessly. By killing him, I did not want to decrease the number of kind people in the empire.
