Evil glint in her eyes!

Evans pov contd

She was holding my wrist tightly in her hands. I would have thought that she was taking my pulse but her hands were covering my whole arm and why would she take my pulse?!

"Is there some problem, my lady?" I asked as the lines of her faces continued to turn deeper and so did her face. I did not know what this pervert was thinking now?

"You know you have almost smashed the head of Amber just because he said that you are not qualified enough!" she spoke suddenly as she looked at me intently.

Did i? I could not believe that! I have never argued with anyone, much less smashing heads. Yet she was looking confident that I had done that.

"I apologize for that again. I would go and apologize to the physician too. Trust me, I have never argued with anyone before. I do not know how this happened. I am normally a sober person." She continued to look at me with narrowed eyes as if she did not trust a word I said, and I could only gulp.

Should i use the method jasmine had asked me too. I took out the tea box hesitantly from my pocket. She raised a brow at that.

"It is a small gift from me as an apology. I hope you will forgive me, my lady." her hands finally left my arm and I took a sigh of relief. I bowed my head, not to give her respect, but to hide my relieved face from her. There was no doubt that she was queer.

She took the box from my hands and sniffed it.

"It is an exquisite tea box. Shall I brew you some tea, my lady?" I asked as she continued to look at the box without uttering a word.

Finally her eyes moved from the box to me and then an enchanting smile formed on her face. She passed the box back to me and nodded.

"Sure." I nodded and took the box.

When I walked out of her office, it felt like a huge burden had been lifted from my body. Facing her was not my cup of tea. I brewed the tea in her sitting area, as I knew she would not prefer being late. But there was something strange in it.

I coughed hard when I opened the tea box and started brewing the tea. My body felt weaker and I staggered a bit when I took the tray in my hands but I was glad that I did not spill even a drop of the expensive liquid.

She smiled and picked up the cup. She sniffed the tea again and the smile on her face widened. But the smile was different. If the last smile was crooked and evil, this one was relieved and genuine.

She took a sip and nodded in satisfaction.

"As far as I know slaves do not have any possessions with them. Then how did you have an expensive tea with you?" she finally asked when I thought that she would not notice that.

"A friend gave it to me, my lady." i did not know why, i did not want to bring the name of jasmine up.

"Hmm, that friend must be too close to give you this precious possession without anything in exchange.'' Why was she pressing this point again and again? I could only nod awkwardly while she continued to enjoy the tea.

"Amber will not take you back in the infirmary." she replied suddenly and I sighed. Of course, he would not! He did not like me in the first place. Now that we had an argument, he would not accept me there at all. I think my rest of the life would be spent with horses only.

"I understand, my lady. I will go back to the stable then." I bowed my head but she chuckled.

"Did you forget that you were working as my assistant before going to infirmary?" I gulped when I remembered the sparring and the way I had run behind her all day.

"You will spar with me daily and rest of the time, you will personally serve me all my meals. Remember, no more mistakes." I nodded my head as I did not have any choice.

"And tell your friend that I love tea." she added when i turned to go back. Of course, you would after all it was an expensive one! Now, I owe Jasmine two favors. I did not know how I would repay her kindness in this life.

As I walked out to the room, I realised it was past lunchtime and she only practiced sword wielding in the morning. So I did not have any work till dinner time. Should I go and help Jasmine in her work as a token of appreciation? At least, this much I should do.

Instead of going back to the quarters for rest, I walked towards the kitchen where she supervised the work.

"Have you seen jasmine?" I asked the staff there. Though they still did not talk to me well, they would reply to me if I initiated the conversation after Jasmine scolded them.

They shook their heads as they continued to work and I frowned. It was her working time. I looked around for her but the palace was huge to find a person. Leisurely I walked towards the garden to enjoy the sunshine when my eyes fell on jasmine. Maybe she was taking a break too.

I walked towards her with a smile when my steps halted. She was talking to a person who was wearing a dark cloak. I did not know why I felt suffocated only by standing there.

"If the work is done well I promise I will fulfill my side of the deal by tonight." came the guff voice of the man and her face bloomed but there was something different about it. There was an evil glint in her eyes.
