Fix It!

VALERIC chucked down the full glass of iced alcohol and dropped the glass back on the counter in the bar.

"You know, you should always text me the exact location you are instead of making me find you like a child," a familiar voice said, and the spot next to him was taken.

"This is the only place I come to."

"What's wrong this time around?" the man Nix asked.

"She really hates me."

Nix requested a class of cocktails and spun his stool a bit to face him. "Why do you say so? I was expecting your relationship to have improved a little bit."

Valeric's mouth opened in a heavy sigh. "She told me she would never like me no matter what I do and that she hates seeing my face. I don't think I'm ugly. Or am I?"

"No, it's the opposite," Nix said simply. "She clearly just doesn't want to see your face because she hates you."

Valeric bowed his head, pushing both his hands over his face.
