You're So Naive

"Look at this!" Sue scooted closer to her in her bed and shoved her phone in her face. "Matthew Grayson is a demi-god! I would love to be in his bed even for just one night."

Lilly rolled her eyes and smirked but a pang of jealousy rose to her chest. The image of the woman who came out of Matthew's office was still vivid in her memory and she could not help but pout.

"There are other men who are way more handsome than Matthew Grayson."

Sue gave her a look of disbelief and returned to ogle Matthew's photos, mumbling 'oohs and ahs' in every one of them.

Lilly had to stop herself from grabbing her phone and hurling it on the wall. She had been pretending to be sick, doing her remaining school projects in bed before their graduation at the end of the month.

She doesn't want to see any of her friends but Sue came uninvited and hung out with her. She was glad that she did because she was already bored out of her mind since she wasn't really sick and she wanted to go out but can't. Her father warned her that the status of their company will be out in the open within the week. The thought of reading in the news or watching it on TV that their company is on the brink of bankruptcy put a heavy feeling in her gut.

"Are you done with your research?" She asked Sue to stir the conversation away from Matthew but Sue just mumbled and shrieked, showing her another photo of Matthew. This time he was topless.

And she couldn't help herself but look. If she wasn't annoyed at how Matthew made her feel when she went to his office yesterday, she would shriek like a banshee with Sue, seeing the half-naked Matthew, riding a jetski.

"Where did the person running that page find that photo? I mean, if this Matthew Grayson is being so private about his personal life, how come so many photos of him were online?"

She would never tell Sue or any other soul that she had created another account that she used to follow the account that Sue was stalking.

"From Matthew's circle of friends. It's like, you are private in your life but we are friends and I don't mind posting photos online. I would post photos of us together and this person—bless her soul, follow everyone…" She cocked her head to the side. "It's still difficult to get pictures but thanks to this woman." She opened another account and showed it to her.

"Do you recognize this woman?"

Lilly almost chokes on her own saliva. Of course, she knew the woman that Sue was showing her. It was the same girl that came out of Matthew's office and she's an international ramp model. One of the angels of a famous lingerie brand.

"Yes," she said in a small voice. "She's a famous model. Who wouldn't know her?" She clicked her tongue with bitterness in her heart.

"You're right and wrong," Sue snickered. "You see, you're correct. She's a famous ramp and print model. What you got wrong was that she's famous for being a model. She's not. She's always the talk of the world wide web because of the men that she's dating. Do you want to guess who her latest boy toy is?"

Lilly could not understand that pain that hit her. Matthew is her future husband but no one knows about her and the fact that she's going to marry him, other than their immediate family and Matthew's secretary. Their marriage is going to be nothing but a business deal. Thus, the pain in her heart was strange.

"Matthew Grayson," she said in a small voice while praying at the back of her mind that she was wrong with her guess.

Sue clapped her hands. "Congratulations! Yes, Matthew Demigod Grayson is her latest fling. They were seen together in a hotel, in a restaurant, and in a museum. The uproar on the gossip forum was that Stephanie Gray stole Matthew from…guess who?"

Lilly heaved an exasperated sigh. "Sue, can you just tell me the story without asking me to guess?"

"Tch," she slapped her shoulder. "You're no fun, Lilly. I'm asking you to guess because you saw the other woman…I mean, we saw the other woman at Morgan's." Sue grinned like a villain. "This woman is bad…" She stuck her tongue on the photo of the woman, wearing a pair of skimpy lace underwear and enormous wings on her back.

"Do you think it was also the choice of the man—"

"Lilly, don't be naive. No man will be able to ignore this goddess. If she didn't show interest in any of the men that she happened to date, it won't happen. So, the story of her stealing Matthew from Kate Winston was probably true."

"Kate Winston is the girl that we saw with Matthew last time, and this other woman, Stephanie, when did she start dating Matthew Grayson?"

Sue cocked her head to the side as if the thought hadn't entered her mind. "oh emmm!!!"

She screamed so loud, Lilly covered her ears and leaned away from her. "What the hell!?"

"Matthew is a two-timer bastard—"

"Wait! Hold up!" She twisted her body to face the other girl. "Where did the story of Matthew Grayson being a two-timer come out?"

"You're so innocent, Lilly. I'm starting to pity you…"She sighed exaggeratedly before she started to tell her the most intricate story of how Matthew Grayson came to be a casanova.

"But if the girls were fine dating Matthew Grayson both at the same time, where's the problem?"

"Lilly!" Sue snapped at her. "Of course, there's going to be a problem. It should be clear who's the real girlfriend and who's just a side dish."

"Side dish?" Her brows knitted in confusion. With all this gossip about Matthew Grayson and how she has to keep her mouth shut about the fact that she was arranged to marry Matthew, she was beginning to feel really sick.

"Side dish. A woman or a man on the side!" She rolled her eyes. "I have an older cousin who has a crush on you, why don't you sleep with him to open your eyes about the real world," Sue advised.
