Chapter 24

The aircraft left in urgency, probably because of the swarm that nearly enveloped it.

As I got accustomed to what was going on I buckled my seatbelt and my eyes drifted to the window on my left

I took in a deep breath and exhaled harshly

What Alaric did a few minutes ago still haunted me. Wasn't he the same one who came to ask for my protection? Wasn't he not the same person who called me his boned and promised to protect me?

Men can lie

But to be honest, though I felt a little bit betrayed, I didn't expect much from him

He made it clear to me where he stood and what kind he was.

He was selfish and he would do anything to terminate anything that may threaten him and his position

In the future I was to be wary of him because I was as sure as hell that he would not hesitate to throw me off a ship of that meant that he could save his ass.

My mind also drifted to Azriel.

Knowing that he too had darkness within him made me change my perspective and opinion about him.
