'Eeeeeh, man I'm getting stronger so fast aren't I amazing in fact I the great Sokka could probably take on Zuko with my eyes closed' I boast very convincingly in my head. (he obv can't)
"Guys look a shop!" Aang says pointing towards a small wooden shack fairly isolated from the village that looks to be at least 20 minutes away from up here. Walking distance 'too bad not everyone can travel in style like the illustrious Sokka squad' I think smugly, before frowning 'that name's no good either, oh well I'll think of one.'
We land Appa near the shop before making our way towards it to resupply. After resupplying and getting some helpful advice from the merchant we head towards the village.
"So it's avatar day must be pretty exciting huh Aang? Are we going to see a repeat of Kyoshi Island I wonder?" I ask him with a playful look so he realizes I'm just teasing him.
"No way, never again, I'd like to think I've matured beyond that and I don't want to go back to be so cocky" he fervently denies
I just snicker as I see Katara pouting probably remembering her and Aang's little melodrama back at Kyoshi island.
When we finally reach the town we see a bunch of attractions and decorations for the festival... well Aang and Katara do I immediately head towards the food stalls, it's not my fault ok my body moved on its own. As I was eating fried food and having a good time my attention and the rest of the gang is drawn pointedly towards the huge avatar statues. We were admiring the craftmanship before a man out of nowhere jumped through the statues with a flaming torch in hand burning down the statues in process. My sister is dousing of the flames wither water bending almost instantaneously.
"Hey that girl is ruining our fun!" says someone in the crowd and quite frankly I would have to agree with them this is some type of ceremony given the people's reactions and they just ruined who knows how many hours of hard work. Aang instantly comes to
Kataras defense by flying up to his statue's shoulder and saying "that girl is my friend if you have a problem with her take it up with me"
The villagers upon noticing Aangs tattoos combined with his airbending immediately come to the obvious conclusion of his identity. "Look it's the avatar he's going to kill us with his awesome avatar powers".
"No I'm not," says Aang
We are then told about Kyoshi's past and her apparent murder of Jin the town's previous leader. Aang refuses to believe he would do something like that so he goes quietly when the chief calls for his arrest.
I quickly chase after them and catch up when Aang's put in a cell.
"Aang what are you doing we don't have time to be wasting here we have supplied and eaten let's just leave" I try to convince him
He quickly denies me "you don't get it Sokka I can't just leave I need to prove my innocence"
"No you don't, you don't even know if what they're saying is false, it doesn't matter either way you can't just expect everyone to like you, let's say you convince this town, then what will you waste time trying to convince every town we come across that doesn't like you. We'll need to go the fire nation sooner or later for a teacher and let me tell you 99% of them won't like you."
"It's not about them liking me Sokka if the people I'm protecting can't trust me then what is this all for."
"Fine if I can't convince you then Ill at least help you get out of here the old-fashioned way through JUSTICE! It's time for DETECTIVE SOKKA!" I try to play it off as a joke but I was getting pretty frustrated with Aang 'why is he so stubborn'
"Thanks, Sokka," he tells me with a grateful smile
This whole time Katara has just been looking between us concerned.
"Let's go Katara," I tell her walking ahead at a brisk pace "where?" she asks "to the place where it all began," I say mysteriously. "Are you trying to sound cool? You're failing if that's the case."
'Everyone's a critic' I thought sulking.
What followed was a boring tedious job of gathering concrete evidence around the town and even back on Kyoshi Island, where I was disappointed to find that suki had left to fight in the war. After hours of work in gathering what I thought was great conclusive evidence. When the time came to present it and the village chief said evidence wasn't used in their court system I was ready to strangle him in fact...
"Let me go Katara, let me at him!" I yell out struggling against the water arms my sister is using to restrain me "Sokka calm down" with my increased stats I probably could've maneuvered out of it and I was about before thinking better of it and calming down.
When it came time to make his argument Aang was stuttering over his words before Kyoshi one of his previous incarnations decided to materialize and confess to her 'crime', crime being the operative word she was perfectly justified and honestly it seemed like Jin killed himself if anything.
That seemed to be enough for the village chief because the moment Kyoshi left "I declare you Avatar guilty"
A few minutes later we were in the seating watching as they pulled out a wheel in which they would decide Aang's punishment the crowd was cheering for increasingly more brutal deaths while my sister was chanting for community service.
"Why are you going along with this farce Katara, if it lands on anything other than community service we'll just leave, by force if we have to unless you're telling me you're willing to let Aang be killed here."
"Of course not!" said my sister sounding offended
"Then stop acting so worried," I tell her
The wheel stops spinning landing on "Comedic death via raccoon ferrets" I don't even know what that means.

"RAAAIDERS!!!"
I turn back to see the raider we had previously encountered at our camping site 'they seemed to have followed us here'
All I saw were money symbols, or more precisely exp bags, the moment I saw them they seemed to have noticed me, well one raider, in particular, was very vocal about it.
"You're that guy who threw a boomerang at my head"
"You're that loser who was knocked out after a little love tap" I replied cheekily.
