13 Solo leveling?

Rex made his way towards the next pair of team rocket grunts and quickly finished them off as well. He didn't talk to them or even give them a heads up, all he did was approach from behind and power-up punch both of them knocking out their pokemon and breaking the two grunts legs. It might seem ruthless but it actually wasn't since a couple of weeks of rest and they would be back to full health if we take into consideration the level technology is at. Not to mention the use of pokemon that can further boost the recovery rate of injuries. the reason he did so was to humble them a bit.

Rex wasn't a sadistic maniac who loved to hurt people but he most definitely will not let someone run around thinking they can act and take whatever they want without consequences. This continued to happen for a while, he went store by store wiping out Grunts left and right as if he was going around a park kicking a bunch of preschoolers in the face before leaving. it took almost no effort. It was to the point that he used it as training for Machop to improve his footwork and boxing skills. Rex noticed that machop wasn't much of a kicker but he still taught him the basics of kickboxing to increase his variation when he was using close combat.

Rex "damn those stats, machop is monstrous, I can't wait for when he evolves. His stats will have a qualitative jump I reckon. He has been throwing things a lot in training to increase his strength so I'm not too surprised that he learned vital throw. as for dual chop, he must have learned it now, alongside bulk up. and I already knew he learned close combat just that I haven't opened the system up in a while" he said nodding in satisfaction at how strong machop is.

Rex had by now wiped out all of the people on the second floor of the mall and was ready to move down. the only thing was that it had heavy surveillance around, so he had to think of a way to get around without attracting attention. before long his sight passed over the unconscious team rocket member on the floor which was his most recent target. Just like that, it hit him,

Rex 'why not wear their uniform. I can cover my hair with their dumb hats, and I can wear shades. I'll pick up a mask on my way as well for when I face off with the commander since I don't want my facial features recognised and be constantly pestered by these fools wherever I go.' making up his mind he quickly changed into the outfit of a team rocket member who was as tall as him and had a similar build before making his way downstairs calmly to not arise suspicion. And it worked no one seemed to mind as they were all busy with their own things. he made his way to the opposite end of where the commander was to take out the grunts so that when he fights the commander he doesn't get surrounded and cornered.

Similar to what happened upstairs he made his way silently from store to store taking down the grunts swiftly and quietly all the while making his way closer to the food court where the commander was stationed. naturally, the commander got reports of grunts not answering back via radio which made him suspicious. he didn't take action as he knew how undisciplined these normal grunts were but he would make a mental note to punish them when they got back. The sadistic grin he was making scared the passerby grunts. they knew that someone was going to get a beating.

Before long Rex arrived at the perimeter of the food court and looked at the situation. Inside there was a total of 6 team rocket members and a ton of hostages. the team rocket members were of course the elite grunts and the commander. from what he saw the elite grunts had 2 pokemon each and the commander had 3. he was confident in his own ability but he wasn't an idiot like ash who would just rush in balls to the wall. In a way, it was admirable but also stupid, and Rex wasn't putting himself and machop through that amount of danger.

Rex ' since pure firepower isn't-... Right how could I not think about that, fire!' he thought before looking towards the sprinklers on the ceiling. He quickly came up with a plan and set it in motion. soon he made his way to the control centre of the mall where he once again found the grunts knocked out on the floor just like he left them. soon he switched on the fire alarm and sprinklers.

*BEEEEEP* *BEEEEEP* *BEEEEEP* *BEEEEEP...

*phsss*

the alarm and the sprinklers were set off and the whole place was now in chaos. the innocent people tied up in the food court were panicking as they thought it was a fire while the elite grunts where confused as to what was happening. The commander was fuming for a different reason, his clothes were getting wet and now he felt uncomfortable sitting on the chair since he felt like he pissed himself, it was all wet and warm due to his body temperature quickly warming up the water.

he stood up in a rage and started to yell.

Commander "WHO THE FUCK DID THIS! YOU THREE GO TURN OF THE FUCKING SPRINKLERS" he yelled incredibly loudly due to his irritation. the elite grunts shivered before quickly splitting off into two groups with one of them making their way over to the control room. Rex was still in the control room laughing his ass off at the reaction from the group before quickly hiding the unconscious grunts in the closet and hiding himself in the one next to it.

The grunts came rushing in only to find it empty. They got suspicious since they knew there should be people here to monitor the mall but right now it was empty. they could only think about it later and mention it to the commander when they headed back. they quickly rushed to the controls and turned off the alarm and sprinklers before feeling a strong wind from behind them. It was Machop who was ruching towards them from behind the door and started to use close combat on all three of them. Naturally, it was a very weak version since he didn't want to kill them. Of course, they still suffered from a lot of broken bones, a trade worthwhile when you get to keep your life. soon they too were unconscious and chucked in with their fellow grunts in the same closet, this time though it was cramped as hell. Rex laughed at this for a while since he did it intentionally. he really wanted to see their reactions when they all woke up but sadly he had better things to do. Rex once again turned on the alarm and the sprinklers before watching the camera with the commander on it who seemed to have calmed down after the sprinklers were turned off. he was now back to sitting on his chair before the water came pouring down again drenching him from head to toe for a second time. He absolutely burst a vein as his whole face was purple from anger. the remaining grunts felt pity for their fellow team members. they could only be grateful it was not them in that position.

back at the command room it was now empty only having one screen lit up which showed the commander ordering the other three grunts to stay put while he went to figure out what was going on. Rex made his way over to where the commander was coming from and hid behind one of the pillars to the side. The commander who was walking towards the control room had no idea he was walking into a trap and therefore continued to walk forward cluelessly. soon he had passed where Rex was. this was when Rex rushed forward and commanded.

Rex "Machop use ice punch on the ceiling then use power-up punch right after," he said quickly.

hearing a voice from behind him, the commander turned around only to see a black Machop leaping into the air with an ice blue fist heading towards the ceiling from where he came from. he had no time to react before a big blast was heard followed by ice that seeped into the ceiling from Machops punch. effectively covering that entire part of the ceiling above the passageway that the commander came from in ice. Machop quickly landed before leaping up again and this time with a massive amount of fighting energy and punching towards the ceiling precisely on the same spot that he used ice punch on. Another big blast was heard before the entire ceiling crumbled blocking the commander from returning to the food court.

This was Rex's plan all along, to separate the grunts from the commander making it easier to deal with them. Rex knew he currently could not beat the commander since he only had one pokemon and a fish. machop was strong but versing three elite tier pokemon by himself was a big stretch. he could hold in for a while but he would inevitably lose. While Rex was thinking the commander was angered to the extreme since he finally knew what was happening. the masked man in front of him was the one that had been messing with them for a while. he also assumed he was the reason none of the other grunts were responding. he could assume so much from the strength of his machop plus that weird colour made it look rare.

Rex ' thank god I got this mask from the second floor since otherwise I might have been identified and pestered by these fools endlessly. I need to figure out a way to stall for time while I call the police for help. If only I could find a way to use Magikarp since he's already ready to evolve.' as he was thinking an idea started to form in his head. It was risky since after it was completed he would need to call back machop. but he needs to try it.

He soon looked up at the commander who had already pulled out a Pokeball and was ready to use it. before he did he wanted to know something.

Commander "why are you intervening in team rockets affairs?" he asked

Rex "why? no reason really, I mean apart from blowing a fucking hole in the wall of a mall, kidnapping innocent people and children and holding them hostage, the main reason is you ruined my mood. if only you did this a couple of hours later, maybe even 30 mins later I would not have cared, but you just had to go and ruin my good mood you fucker" he said getting pissed.

The commander was also getting increasingly angrier and when he finally heard Rex insulting him he blew his top and threw his Pokeball.

Commander "go Arbok use poison fang"

Rex "machop use bulk up and then use vital throw" he said calmly

Machop started to use bulk up and increased his attack and defence by one stage before waiting for the opponent to come in close. the reason was simple, vital throw is a low priority move meaning that he would attack second anyway so why not wait for an opening when the opponent strikes.

As Arbok made its way over it opened his mouth wide and started to gather poison energy in his fangs forming bigger illusory ones over his real fangs. as he got closer to machop and was about to close his mouth shut on his shoulder, it found that it could no longer close them, when he looked over he found machop holding his jaws open stopping him from hitting machop. before he could retract his head a sense of weightlessness overcame him before suddenly feeling intense pain from its back when it realised it was stuck in the ceiling. it was all too quick for Arbok to process. Rex, on the other hand, was not focused on Arbok, he wanted to use this chance to evolve Magikarp but since he couldn't fight on land he had to fix that.

Rex "machop don't focus on Arbok, use ice punch continuously on the floor," he said. This confused the commander but he didn't complain as it was better since he could use this time to get arbok to retreat out of its current disadvantageous situation. Meanwhile, Machop continued to use Ice punch on the floor, effectively spreading ice all over the place, large chunks of ice were everywhere at this point. seeing that it was enough Rex decided it was time to heat things up.

Rex "machop use your strongest fire punch on the floor," he said. he hoped the heat was enough to melt the ice creating a lot of water from the large chunks of ice in the surroundings. Yet he underestimated Machops determination. Machop's fist started to burn furiously with flames, it was a normal red flame at first before it gradually turned a dark shade of orange, before turning yellow and finally it turned green. one step away from a blue flame! Rex was stupefied by what he was seeing, he didn't think that all that meditation on harnessing his energy and making sure he wasn't wasting it could increase the power of his moves so exponentially. He was shocked since he could feel the intense heat coming off that fire.

as it continued to rage on Machop, he finally smashed it into the ground sending a huge blast of hot flames everywhere, effectively melting all the ice in the surroundings. Rex seeing this knew it was time, machop couldn't fight in the water and snakes had a good ability to swim so it was too disadvantageous to him. but that was what he was aiming for, he wanted to use his water type right now. seeing that it was finally done Rex pulled out machop's ball and aimed it at Machop.
