The sight weakens my legs and I rush to her. Taking her in my arms I check for her pulse near the neck. It's faint but it's there.
My eyes narrow on the bruise around her neck as if someone held her by her throat. She has a gnash against her temple that's leaking blood. I check her wrists and they have bruises too.
What the fuck happened to her?
/"Sir?/" Aiden is above me and I look at him.
My hands are shaking and my heart isn't resting in my chest. I'm losing my fucking mind.
/"Ambulance,/" I whisper and he looks down at Evelyn and then at me.
/"There was an accident nearby. The ambulance will take time. I can check her sir./"
My eyes narrow in warning.
/"Sir, I was medically trained in the force. I can check her./"
/"Back off./"
