Chapter 31 - Infinite Exp Glitch!?

Written By Curiostyx

~〈The Wyrm〉~

"Monday left me broken...♫~" The Wyrm sang as his form fell from the non-existent sky, while a barrage of arrow-shaped bolts of light descended alongside him.

It had to be noted that his singing wasn't exactly melodious... Naaah, it's actually pretty fire when you set the volume to zero.

"Tuesday, I was through with hoping...♫~" The bolts of bright light glowed a menacing shade of dark purple as they stabbed through the bodies of what seemed to be a pack of Dog-sized Millipedes.

—Screech!!!

The Millipedes fell on their asses as the torture that is the Heresy Element invaded their senses, tearing their very Souls apart.

Small cubes made of green lines manifested near the Millipedes, almost touching them. After which, Spell Circuits of Light conjured up in the surroundings.

"Wednesday, my empty arms were open...♫~" Out of the numerous Circuits, arrows of bright light shot out.

As the arrows shot through the air, their directions altered to suit their own individual targets; the green cubes. It was as if they were a barrage of homing missiles as not even a single one of them missed their mark.

"Thursday, waiting for love, waiting for love...♫~" The Millipedes screamed in despair as holes appeared all over their bodies, the sharp arrows of light penetrating through their exoskeleton, tearing their flesh and bone apart.

—RAAAGH~!!!***

A gigantic Centipede of Giraffe-sized proportions burst out of the solid ground with a loud explosion of dust and rock, the grief and rage being very obvious in its eyes.

"Oh, these were your kids...? Sorry brah, but look at the bright side... Hehe." The Wyrm stated to the Centipede as a burst of blinding light covered its field of vision.

The Centipede screamed in profound confusion and shock as it threw its body forwards, leaping in the Wyrm's general direction.

Though of course, it was kind of hard not to miss.

"Slopy~!" The Wyrm teased before the Centipede swung its tail toward the direction of the words.

"Toppy~!" The Wyrm stated with a bemused tone before the Centipede felt a hot stinging sensation on his forehead, like a... like... a... thousand soldier... ant... bites...

The Centipede collapsed to the floor with a thud as the acid directly injected into its brain fried its consciousness off.

"Giggity~!" The Wyrm stated before tearing the Centipede's skull open, yanking the brain out, and throwing it into his mouth as if it was a jelly bean.

The Wyrm stared at the rest of the dead bodies, those of the Millipedes as some of them were still alive.

「Attempting to form ~Master-Slave~ Familiar Contract with multiple Entities...」

"Accept or I'll eat your Souls. It's your choice, guys..." The Wyrm said with an even calmer tone than big man Dumbledore himself as he sipped on the dead Centipede's blood like a juice box.

「Sucessfully tamed ~Elroe Melobron︱LV 1-8~」6×

All of the living Melobrons accepted without much resistance, it seems they shared Larry's old sentiment in the quote "Servitude is better than Death."

「The Skill ~Creature Taming~ has leveled up several times. LV raised to 7.」

"Alright then, let's carry your brothers and sisters... Oh, and of course, don't forget your Daddy." The Wyrm then left without waiting, his newly recruited Minions would instinctively know his location, after all.

The Wyrm then leaped to the nearby lava stream as he made his journey upstream. With his High-Speed Swimming Skill, such a task became quite effortless.

An illusionary and translucent symbol of an eye appeared on the Wyrm's forehead, glowing a deep blueish-purple.

Third Eye, a rather useful Skill he had gotten from the Soul Reaper Title. It basically just made Souls a visible object for him, those still inside the body included.

Invisible was no longer an option for his enemies. It was easy to conceal one's own body, but obscuring the Soul would be another matter entirely...

Looking around with his Third Eye, he searched the surroundings for any lifeforms, but due to his invasive species-like nature, he could only see his own Soul.

Though looking closer, his Soul was rather peculiar since the shape of a Soul was identical to its physical form.

But his Soul shared no resemblance to his current body, nor the one he had in his previous life... Actually, it kind of looked familiar in an eerie way.

It looked like... Bah, whatever, it's not like it's anything important, right?

"...Oh Dragon God, when is this thing gonna give me a Teleport Spell?" The Wyrm complained as a small cube of green lines appeared on top of him.

He had bought Spatial Magic with his Skill Points. It had a price of about 500 Points, leaving him with only 100 Points remaining...

Of course, he saved up those last 100 Points for the future.

But looking back, perhaps he shouldn't have bought this new Magic Skill. The first Spell is just a useless green cube that looked slightly cool.

The second Spell was way better though, since it made a slightly cooler cube which he could use as an Aimbot, basically.

A nice ability to be sure, but not the ever-so sought-after miracle that was Teleportation.

「The Skill ~Stupidity~ has leveled up. LV raised to 6.」

"Oh fuck you too, man." This Skill leveled up every time he thought of himself as well... Stupid.

~〈The Wyrm, about half an hour later...〉~

"Did you level up...?" The Wyrm asked his Minion who had already recovered by now, courtesy of the Wyrm's more advanced Healing Magic.

"...Yes. Though I have to say, Master... This is certainly a strategy I would have never thought of..." Larry commented as he ripped apart a Millipede into two with his bare claws.

"Lucky you, ha? Well, you're the one who needs Evolution, so get on with it...!" The power gap between the two wasn't funny, and the Wyrm was a charitable fellow, so he decided to help his brother-in-arms in the only way he knew of...

Slavery.

Larry was quite an exception, he had offered servitude even before the Wyrm knew of the "Taming" mechanic...

A Familiar who formed a contract with consent is a Servant still capable of free-thinking, just with a more submissive mindset.

One who had been forced into a contract is but a glorified Pokemon, a Slave to their Master.

And this is where the Wyrm's devious strategy came into play, he hadn't just enslaved those random mobs for nothing...

After the Familiars finished hauling the corpses of their brethren, they joined the line, the Goddammed line...

—Slice~!

Another Millipede was stomped to death by the Lobster, reducing it to a mere stain on the rocky floor.

Oh boy, this is gonna take a while...
