Angel...sent for me

"Everyday students were counted and sent to bed and it was unsaid rule to not to go out at night and it was safe to stick to the rule. That night I was not feeling sleepy because I could hear sobs coming from room next to me I heard a new girl joined their hostel as her parents died few days back, she was a little girl 7 years old who looked sad and lonely when you looked into her eyes what people find interesting was she didn't speak no matter what they did and it became a game who could make her speak first.

sometimes she cried, sometimes she just looked at the person with disdain as if they were not above the piece of dust on her shoes. Which made people bully her more, many saw this but no one came for help including me.

But that night when I heard the sob I peeked outside my room looking at her going somewhere, I followed her to the dark corridor which was creepy for a 15 year old me and it was a wonder that a 7 years old girl could cross that dark corridor I wanted to warn her to not to go out but still I decided to follow rather than warn her.

She stood outside the matrons room banging on the door but instead of Matron the person who opened the door was our maths teacher mister Lee when he looked at her he gave her smile and ask her to come inside to meet the Matron I waited for a while outside I found him suspicious what was Mr Lee doing here. I looked at the closed door for her to come out but it's took a while when no sound came out after a while I heard some rustling and a bit of crying which spooked me.

I thought for a while and decided to call my few friends that I met and played with at the hostel with them I banged the matrons room asking her that I wanted to see her, the door was opened again I tried to peek inside but Mr Lee stood by the door not letting us go inside after thinking for a while I pushed him aside and ran inside the room I found her at the corner tied to a chair with cloth stuck at her mouth.

I removed the cloth and tried to free but then I turned and saw Mr Lee coming towards me to grab me I looked at the girls face she was scared but more for me than herself then she started to scream which compelled me to scream with her and my friends joined us which helped us to alert other people and children to see what the commotion was about.

Just then Matron came to find us in this condition it was later found out that Mr Lee and matron were in a relationship and she let him stay at her room for few days which he misused to abuse young girls when she was busy with her work.

When I brought Kiara back to her room she looked at me and spoke for a first time holding my hand tightly " Mom said I will get an angel if I am I trouble and she can't help me, you are my Angel my mom sent me, thank you".
