"And that's how it is." Giovanni explained to the rest of the League what had happened during his show and watched as they looked at each other before Batman spoke up.

"So this… Victor… wants to meet Kent Nelson?" The dark knight of Gotham asked with a blank expression that would have made Giovanni think that his friend was looking right into his soul if it wasn't for the fact that he had experience with such a thing and knew that it felt very different.

"Yes, he claims that he wishes to be Kent's apprentice in mystic arts."

"If he just wants to learn magic, couldn't he simply have asked to be your apprentice?" Green Arrow asked from his seat with a raised eyebrow, to which Giovanni simply shook his head.

"The magic that I use is heavily connected to my bloodline. My grasp on the magic that the rest of the homo magi can use is, for all intents and purposes, pathetic when compared to someone like Kent Nelson. A fact that he seems to be aware but won't say it to my face." The stage magician declared with a frown on his face, which was met by frowns from the rest of the League who were not happy with the way their friend was putting himself down.

"While Kent's knowledge of mystic arts are definitely vast, I do not see this as a reason for you to underestimate yourself like this, Zatara." Wonder Woman said with a kind expression but Giovanni merely shook his head.

"I am not underestimating myself, you are all underestimating how much magical knowledge Kent possesses." His words were blunt and without any kind of theatric, as if he was merely stating the weather.

"In a simple contest of magic, I can defeat Kent Nelson ten times out of ten fights unless he dons the Helmet of Fate. But he has spent decades as Doctor Fate, decades that he had access to the knowledge of Nabu; a lord of order, the highest form of magical elementals that has existed almost as long as the magic itself. None of you can even begin to comprehend that amount of knowledge." At his words, the League could only sit in silence. They could not deny his words, especially Captain Marvel who had connections with a lord of order himself.

"But this does not matter, what matters is what we'll do about young Victor? I might be grateful for his help against Faust but simply letting an unknown meet Kent Nelson does not sit right with me either." Giovanni said with a sigh. He did not wish to think badly about Victor, except for when it came to his daughter, but this was the bearer of the Helmet of Fate. Arguably the strongest magical artifact in existence, an artifact that many had tried to steal in the past. He couldn't just risk it.

"Then how about we see whether he's trustworthy or not?" Black Canary asked with a smile and then explained what she thought about it.

"This is your newest teammate, Victor Stark." Batman declared as the aforementioned young man walked into the room with a black jacket and white shirt over black jeans, looking as cool as a cucumber while the rest of the team looked somewhat disgruntled.

With Aqualad it was simply a case of not appreciating a new factor to their team right before their first mission.

With Kid Flash and Robin, it was merely a case of them not wanting to deal with another newbie.

With Supergirl it was a case of her face always looking like she was disgruntled.

Miss Martian was actually happy about meeting someone new.

"Welcome to the team!" And she made her happiness known as she quickly flew right beside the newest member of the team and shook his hand while Victor just smiled at her.

"Pleasure is all mine." The young man said as charmingly as possible which was then ruined by Batman.

"You can talk later." The Dark Knight Said As he pushed a button on the remote in his hand and a holographic screen appeared before them with a map on it.

"This is Santa Prisca. A lawless island that supplies the underworld with a very special drug."

"Venom." Robin said with a scowl and his mentor nodded.

"Yes, but for the last week; Santa Prisca has ceased all shippings for reasons we are not aware of. The team's missions is to find out why."

"Who's the leader?" Robin asked with a tilt of his head and Batman looked at Red Tornado for a moment before answering.

"Work it out between yourselves." The Dark Knight Said and then left the room.

"So, newbie, what can you do?" Kid Flash asked with a smile as he dashed at Victor's side.

"Hmm, I can do many things." Victor simply said with a smile.

"But if you are simply asking whether I have powers or not. I do have one."

"And what might that power be?" Aqualad asked with a polite tone while keeping an eye on Kid Flash and Robin. They might be his friends but he also knew of their… quirky personalities that might cause some problems.

"I have the power, to be the fastest one in the room."

"Pfft, yeah sorry dude. But I'm the fastest one here." Kid Flash said with a snort only to jump with fright as a hand was placed on his shoulder, a hand that belonged to their newest member that had been just in front of them.

"That appears to be, incorrect." Victor said with a teasing tone while Kid Flash just opened his mouth and closed it several times like a fish, which caused Supergirl to snort.

"Not bad." She said with a small smile on her face, a rarity.

"Thank you." Victor said with a nod before his form was engulfed by a greenish light and when it died down, their newest member was wearing a cold gray armor on his chest and a smirk on his face.

"Shall we go then?"
