The summoning

Looking at the different options for world travel, I'm stuck deciding where I want to go. Some worlds will just be more fun to be in, while others are good for improving and opening new paths

I am also not willing to give up this body. I know I spent more than two hundred years with my other body, but this one is just so much more comfortable. I can sleep on command and wake up feeling better than ever.

While musing about how I can keep my current body, a message popped up on the interface for world travel. It was for an emergency summoning and I couldn't find a better sign. I checked with my instincts to confirm it isn't a trap before accepting and being blinded by the white light that swept me away.

"Fuck my eyes!", I yelled out. Every part of my body is enhanced to super levels, and sudden changes can just ruin my day.

I hear some coughing coming from in front of me trying to grab my attention. "Can you give me a second? I was just blinded and would appreciate it.", I say to whoever it was that called me.

When my vision returns, I see in front of me a mature woman with white hair that seems to be coated in ethereal light. "Wow, I love your hair! Do you do anything to get that special light effect or is it all natural?", I can't help asking because my curly hair takes an hour to fix in the morning. If it could just straighten out and glow like hers does, I wouldn't mind asking for her beauty tips as payment.

She looks at me with such a confused expression I can't help but let out a chuckle, "Sorry, I was curious.".

"That is fine traveler, I just wasn't expecting such a question. My name is Edna and I am the will of the world you will be saving.", she says with a slight bow of elegance. Her intentions to speed things along aren't missed by me. The situation must be serious if there isn't time to talk.

"My name is Sarah and I am a lamia. I came for the emergency summon to any available world travelers. May I know the general situation?", I ask in my professional tone. I would understand if it were the people of the world summoning me, but since it is the will of the world itself, that means there is a threat to the planet.

"Very recently a force has been pulling me and another world together from across a dimensional gap. The people that live on myself have taken to summoning individuals from an unrelated world to take care of the aftereffects of our resisting.", she pauses for a minute to let me digest. I nod my head to show I understand so far.

"The other world and I were able to stop it once before but doing so took much energy. It is happening again and neither of us have enough power to fully stop it. We can resist for a time, but not forever.", she tells me with a grim expression.

"I understand the situation and what you need from me. I will find the cause of the force and stop it.", this was all she needed to hear to lighten up her expression. A little bit of encouragement goes a long way.

"Please send me to the surface of yourself. It would be most helpful if you contact the other world, as I will be traveling and preparing on both of your surfaces so having the other's cooperation will help.", I tell her and see her smile. She tells me she will do so before a small sucking force pulls me into an open meadow. My new planet saving job starts now!
