Chapter 19

"Hey there, Jacob!" Elijah greeted as he stood in front of Jacob's desk. "Hey," the omega greeted back as he looked up at him.

"What are you doing later? Wanna hang out with us? Kiefer is coming along too," Elijah beamed at him and threw a quick glance at Kiefer and his friends.

Jacob was quiet for a couple of seconds.

Honestly, going out wasn't an issue for him, but because the people whom he was gonna hang out with later were those he wasn't very close to, he was hesitant.

But still... it was his last year in high school and he thought he might try hanging out with his classmates.

'Kiefer is coming too so I think it'll be fine,' he thought to himself, finally making up his mind.

"Sure. Where to?" Jacob asked as a small smile curved on his lips.

Elijah was taken aback. He was stunned.

It's been a while since the last time he's seen Jacob smile that close to him because he only ever smiles when he talks to Kiefer. It was surprising but... pleasant.

"O-Oh... Uh, we were gonna talk about that now. Come join us," Elijah smiled at him and then glanced at his friends.

Jacob glanced at the wall clock and saw that they still had a few minutes left before their break ends. He nodded and stood from his chair. He then followed Elijah to where his other friends were seated on the other side of the classroom.

Kiefer was resting his head on his desk, taking a quick nap because he wasn't able to sleep that well last night.

Their other classmates were sitting on the chairs and on top of the desks surrounding Kiefer's chair, chatting with each other about the most random things.

"But, hey! There was a third party involved in the opposing team. That was why I lost. He even got his account banned after he got caught," Jaden said, justifying his loss at a video game.

"Uh, sure, loser," Chris, one of their classmates and Kiefer's friend, said in a mocking tone. "Poor kid. Don't tease him too much. He might end up crying," Sean, another one of Kiefer's friends, said and laughed.

"Are you doubting me? Are you really making fun of me? Are you even my friends?" Jaden scoffed as he glared at them.

Their friends laughed at his reaction and continued to make fun of him.

But then they all went silent when Jacob was finally standing near them.

"See? I told you, Jacob would come if we invited him," Elijah said with a proud smile plastered on his face.

"Hi," Jacob awkwardly said as he avoided their eyes.

Kiefer's ears perked as soon as he heard Jacob's voice. He quickly raised his head from the desk and opened his eyes to see if he was mistaken.

"Jake," Kiefer smiled, his face lightening up at the sight of the omega's face.

"Pfft." Jaden looked away as he tried to hold back his laughter. 'It's so obvious that he likes him. He never looks at any of us that way,' he thought as he looked at Kiefer.

Jacob smiled at Kiefer and nodded his head at him as a form of greeting.

That was when Jaden, who was watching them, noticed something.

'What the hell is up with him?' He thought, confused about what he was seeing.

"Eli, my boy," Chris called him as he put his arm around Elijah's shoulder. "You did a good job inviting Jacob to hang out with us," he continued as he pulled his friend closer to his body.

"Really? You're coming with us later?" Kiefer said, his eyes sparkling as he looked at Jacob. "Yeah. Where are we going?" The omega asked as he looked at the other guys around him.

"We were deciding whose house we're going to today. We're gonna watch a movie together," Sean smiled at Jacob.

"If we're gonna watch a movie, don't you think it's best if we go to Sean's house? Their TV is huge," Jaden said as he looked at Sean.

"Dude, I told you my parents are having visitors tonight. We can't at my place," Sean said as he looked at Jaden.

While the two of them argued, Chris, whose arm was still around Elijah's shoulder, looked at his friend and whispered, "Dude. You kept staring at Jacob. Is something up?"

Elijah turned his head a little and chuckled softly. "It's nothing," Elijah whispered back as he looked at Jacob who seemed to look entertained as he watched Jaden and Sean argue.

Kiefer grabbed Jacob's hand to get his attention and he succeeded. The omega looked at him and raised his brows as if asking him what he wanted to say.

Elijah looked at Kiefer's hand that was holding Jacob's and quickly looked in Jaden and Sean's direction.

"Hey, are you sure you wanna hang out with them? They're very loud people," Kiefer said while looking up at Jacob.

"You're one to talk," Jacob chuckled as he shook his head. Kiefer stared at him for a couple of seconds, trying to process what he just said.

His mouth slightly gaped open and he looked at Jacob as if he was really offended by what he said.

"Come on! I'm not that loud," Kiefer said as he frowned at Jacob. "Haha, sure," the omega responded and nodded.

Jacob turned his head and looked at Kiefer's friends, his hand still in the alpha's hand, and said, "We can go to my place."

Jaden and Sean fell silent and looked at Jacob.

"If you want..." Jacob continued and shrugged.

"Is that okay?" Jaden asked as his face lit up, getting excited about coming to another classmate's house.

"Yeah. My parents aren't home either so we have the place for ourselves," Jacob said as he looked at them one by one.

"Dang! G! Let's do that," Jaden excitedly said as he nudged Sean. "I'm all for it too," Sean nodded.

"Me three," Elijah beamed. "Same here. Don't ask Kiefer. It's not like his opinion matters anyway," Chris said and looked at the alpha who looked so offended by what he said.

The boys laughed at Kiefer's reaction and then continued planning what they were gonna do later.

And just like that, the six of them ended up walking together to Jacob's house after class.

I'm so sorry for the late update! I've been feeling under the weather these past few days. I hope you understand, thank you!
