Chapter 1Birth of a Hero

The church was ancient and deserted, with stone walls and tall arches looming overhead. The silence was broken only by the occasional creak of wood and the soft rustle of cloth as the priest walked over to the young mother cradling her newborn son. The child's face was peaceful, a tiny fist clutching at the blanket wrapped around him.

"Priest, please bless my child..."

The mother raised her newborn to the priest shaking with exhaustion. It was a long way to church, and few would take this patronage here. Her eyes were filled with both hope and desperation, knowing that few would venture to this forsaken church. She had lost it all from this meaning less war and her child would be her last hope.

The priest, an elderly man with a lined face and hands marked by years of devotion, approached the mother with a mixture of sympathy and curiosity. His footsteps echoed through the hallowed space, a stark contrast to the silence that had enveloped them moments before.

"You've walked a long way here," he began, his voice carrying both sympathy and concern as he accepted the infant into his arms. With deliberate steps, he moved toward the holy water basin.

"May the Han Yu be with him," he chanted, invoking the Frozen Divine, the will of the Han. Ice enveloped the basin as he prepared to baptize the child, the frosty waters blessing the infant in a ceremony that seemed to promise great strength and resilience.

However, the divine had other plans. As the priest continued with the sacred ritual, a voice thundered from above, shaking the very foundations of the church. A dark, ominous cloud formed in the sky, casting an eerie shadow over the sacred space. The priest, overcome by fear and awe, fell to his knees, crossing himself in reverence and submission.

[Behold a hero is born, Slime-summoning shall be his skill] the voice boomed.

The mother clutched her child tightly, fear etched on her face. "What does this mean? What is happening to my child?"

She had witnessed many children getting their first baptism however, they have never seen a divine directly intervene with a baptism.

"Your child's skill… I have never seen something like this," the priest explained, his voice shaking.

"It's useless, its rank is SSS, however... He can only summon slimes; there're not even live slimes just, slime essence. He can't even make a slime army out of this, much less be a hero."

The divine voice replied, its tone final and uncompromising.

[I deemed this skill. Worthy for a Hero].

The mother began to weep, her tears falling onto her child's face. "Why would you give my child such a useless skill?" she cried out to the sky. "What more can you take from me?"

In a thundering and angry voice, the sky answered,

[Why Should I? I have other people to protect, and thousands of others to help give me a reason, why is his life more important than the others of this world I have witnessed?]

[Have I not blessed this hero with the highest ranked skill known to man]

[Is there better bless can this child receive do I not let it rain when the times comes]

Silence filled the empty church, and the priest was too stunned to speak. The divine never directed their complaints to the people of the lower world.

Undeterred, the mother continued to plead with the divine. "You deemed him a hero; grant him skills worthy of a hero," she implored, her voice filled with the fervor of a mother's love. "All the other heroes before were granted extraordinary powers, far surpassing ordinary humans. Why must my child bear this burden?"

The divine, seemingly perplexed by its own choices, pondered whether it had bestowed this peculiar power for its own amusement or if it saw potential within the child that others could not discern. The child had received the strongest blessing that he could bestow yet human continued to greed.

[I shall look over this child, to ensure he will be the hero that the world needs. If he proves too weak, I shall step in. Whether it be better companions or motivation that's needed. For I am the Monarch of this land and heroes are needed in the future.]

The Divine thought little of its words as to it the being below died left and right in his eyes and every once in a while it had to intervene with the being below. Heroes had to be born for the balance of this world but potential heroes were born every day so why this one?

The mother continued to weep, her heart heavy with fear for her child's future. The priest stood silent, lost in thought. What kind of destiny awaited this child, with a power so useless and a fate chosen by the Divine?

I Can Copy And Evolve Talents

Across the vast convolution of worlds, divine beings rule as absolute sovereigns—each god assigned dominion over a singular realm. Skirmishes are inevitable, whether for power, amusement, or sheer pettiness. One such battle, between Nexus, the God of Trickery, and an aging, senile deity, resulted in an anomaly… A soul misplaced. Elliot, an ordinary man, was never meant for Ul’Tra-el. But fate, or perhaps a cosmic prank, had other plans. Unlike other worlds, Ul’Tra-el is an aberration—one that developed a voice. A voice that diverged from the natural order. A voice that changed everything. Its foundation cracked, leaking dimensions into one another. Rifts tore open like festering wounds, vomiting forth unspeakable horrors—monsters not meant to exist. But the world did not sit idly by. In response—perhaps an act of self-preservation—the world gifted its inhabitants power. Talents awakened, granting people extraordinary abilities. And for every rift sealed, the Voice of Ul rewarded them generously. Survival was simple: fight, grow stronger, and close the rifts… or die trying. In this ruthless, blood-soaked reality, Northern—a white-haired boy burdened by his past life—was reincarnated. But unlike the chosen heroes, he awakened as a talentless nobody. No power. No strength. No future. And when death loomed over him—when despair clawed at his soul and the cold grip of the failure threatened to take him— A Voice responded: [System Notice] [Your Soul cannot take a form.] [Searching for a Unique Pattern Ability…] [Searching…] [Search Found.] [A Unique System Ability has been detected.] [You Can Copy And Evolve Talents] ... Follow Northern through his journey as he becomes the pinnacle of this world. This a story about a white-haired boy’s rise from rubbles!! Note: This is an overpower genre but MC does not just start off like that. Even though MC can copy talents he doesn't just jump around copying talents because there's a limitation. However, his rise to strength is depicted and is an experience to enjoy. The first few hundreds would be frustrating to follow because MC is weak but that makes the experience all the more interesting when MC finally gets freaking strong and starts wiping the floor with everyones asses.

GlaringError here! As I have already mentioned in my author review I am restating it here since I am getting tons of comments about it, that I am more of a reader myself than a writer, I made this novel in an attempt to capture my fantasy world residing in my mind into words.. Writing is new for me.. The premise of my novel is inspired by many great works that I have loved over the years. And some elements I have in my novel that are slightly similar to them but it's just the skeleton of it, the real meat of the plot is entirely my own cooking. Some of the influence that is more noticeable is from The Runesmith (By Kuropon), The King's Avatar (By Butterfly Blue) and Shadow Slave (By Guiltythree). I have immense respect for these legends and I can only hope to follow in their footsteps. To all those who comment just by judging the name, at least give it a chance before letting your opinions be known. Thank you.
